I had a dream that Joe Biden kept trying to sneak back into the white house to become the president again and he had a variety of silly disguises like in one he was wearing a big moustache and top hat and introduced himself as Job Iden and tried to sell trump snake oil and trump was super interested until his moustache fell off and then JD vance was like "wait a minute.. that's joe biden!!" amd he was like "welp, gotta run, see ya later jack!" and then all the evil white house staff were shaking their heads cus joe biden almost sneaked into the white house and the newest aid was there and she was like "That was a close call, Mr President" and his new aide was actually kamala harris wearing a big cartoon wig and they were all too distracted by joe biden to notice

wordle in 1: joyless. it is statistically inevitable that your go-to starting word will be the solution one day, and this is no more of an accomplishment than running a random number generator once a day until it gives you "1"

wordle in 2: misleading. you may think that this is the highest achievement, but it suffers from the same disappointment of a lucky guess that wordle in 1 causes. your second guess is a strategic choice, but ending the game this early just isn't interesting

wordle in 3: the peak. your starting word gave you some information and then your second guess contextualized that information into a solvable position. your sharp intuition and restraint is what truly separates you as above average.

wordle in 4: statistically average, par for the course, the baseline against which all other wordles are compared.

wordle in 5: you're sweating. you made a mistake at some point, or your starting word was effectively useless, and it took an extra guess above average to close things out. wordle in 5 comes as a relief.

wordle in 6: crushing humiliation. you have technically succeeded but at what cost. your thirty square grid will stare back at you like barrels of a firing squad. a failure in all but name.

I'm sure someone has already point this out but

they do actually land on land sometimes, in the case of that picture its a Soyuz space capsule landing in Kazakhstan with the crew of the International Space Station

the reason they land in water is less about bounce, once you're going fast enough water becomes like concrete. No the reason is the Ocean, the Pacific Ocean is really big so is easy to aim at from space. Also you don't have to worry too much about landing on anyone's house. The US Navy is very good at its job so they can pick Astronauts up pretty easily.

for fairly clear reasons the Soviets and later the Russians used the vast empty spaces of central Asia, because again, don't have worry about landing on someone's house.

were their passwords automatically set to that at first, and nobody changed their password? or did they all indeoendently decide "ah, my favourite animal plus my birthdate, a perfect secret that only i know!"

No, they have a password manager so we recommend using it to generate a random password, which is what they all start with. But we also allow them to reset those passwords because they have to use them for device logins and apparently all bird scientists, vets, and volunteers know is observation schedule, write journal article, and condor.

one of the most relatable things about bones is how brennan’s knowledge of pop culture (or just generally things outside of anthropology) is incredibly variable. she doesn’t know who mulder & scully are, but she does watch jersey shore because she believes it’s a documentary. she loves doing puzzles but doesn’t know what the game clue is. she actually loves lots of music, including plenty of modern artists, which pleasantly surprises people until she starts giving an anthropological lecture about whatever genre they’re listening to. she canonically doesn’t know who the grinch is.
