Continuing to mess around in Procreate with more quick (for me) drawings of this doofus. Of course I had to be sure to include both her bff Raccoon and The Gam this time around to truly represent her essence.

Finally decided to get over my very stupid and completely unhelpful fear of starting new things (and the unavoidable imperfection in the early days of learning something new) and started messing around more in Procreate. It’s only been 2 decades since the initial “I should really learn how to draw in Photoshop” thought that has plagued me ever since… 20 years isn’t an absurd amount of time to put something off, is it? Yes, yes, I am facepalming so hard right now.

Long story short, I think I’m gonna like it here. Def a bit rusty when it comes to drawing without a grid — something I use to help layout my colored pencil commissions — but it feels good to exercise the muscle again.

There’s even a built in time-lapse feature! I feel so spoiled.

Any helpful tips for someone just starting out in Procreate? Scout had a lot to critique in terms of my technique, but not so much in the way of tips and tricks. I’ve already had to google so many basic things.

Today I've got my 2nd of 5 backlogged portraits to share, best boy Billy the Miniature Pinscher, whose breed reveal managed to surprise me because my brain refused to believe min pins came in any coloration besides the black and brown combo. I blame the dual coloration of dobermans, because that's the only excuse I have besides pure idiocy.

Film Review: Radioactive

As flummoxed as I was when my husband said he had no idea who Marie Curie was, I’ll admit that my dramatically offended-on-her-behalf haughtiness was short lived as I only knew enough to say: “she’s only the biggest boss in the radiation world and queen of the Nobel Prize.” Suffice it to say, I was excited to learn more about her with Radioactive. Which I kind of did?
