I will never fully be able to hate Fang Runin. Like R.F Kuang had said at a panel, every terrible thing Rin had done was for a reason. Every dreadful act was exactly what anybody would do had they been put into her shoes. I think she is so interesting and it’s infuriating watching her character be diluted down to “teenage girl who gets powers and murders people” because she is so much more. Rin is stronger than she can comprehend. Rin has murdered thousands in the name of liberating her people. Rin has reduced innocent people she’s killed to vermin just to make genocide more palatable. Rin commits war crimes. Rin also murders a rapist. Rin also loves her friends so fiercely and would and has defended them with all that she can. Rin speaks for the oppressed and wants to give them a voice and hope. Rin grieves like any mourner would. Rin is both so human and yet so inhumane. She uses soldiers like they are nothing but pawns on a chess board. Shes the product of war, she shows exactly what young people are turned into by the brutality of war and oppression. She is a coin of the cruelty and sympathy of all sides of war looks like.

normalize hating your mother
the year is 2023, marie kondo holds j*ff b*zos by the skin on the back of his neck in front of a public gathering
“does this one spark joy?” she shouts at the restless audience, they boo in response
she snaps his spine like .5mm mechanical pencil lead and throws his lifeless corpse to the crowd, they cheer in response
Please tell me this is our timeline
every mother who’s critiqued her daughter’s appearance based on ~what men do or do not like~ owes that child an apology

On June 11th, Michael Hickson, a quadriplegic black man with COVID-19 was killed by a hospital in Austin Texas.
Doctors decided he had "no quality of life" an was not worth spending the resources to save.
The conversation between his doctor and his wife was caught on audio 1/?
[description of image: a photo of Hickson, lying in a hospital bed and smiling for the camera /description]
Doctor: So as of right now, his quality of life -- he doesn't have much of one.
Melissa: What do you mean? Because he's paralyzed with a brain injury he doesn’t have quality of life?
Doctor: Correct.
--
Hickson was refused food or treatment for 6 days
In the YouTube video, the doctor can be heard saying "he will have lines and tubes coming out of his body... That's not quality-of-life"
I have tubes coming out of my body. I happen to like my life. Without those tubes I'd be dead
Our definition of quality is vastly different
So, when you see me repeatedly yelling about masks, paying attention to disabled people, and you don't understand why I tweet with passion, remember this.
I'm fighting to change culture that doesn't see disabled life as quality. many of us are afraid and rightly so.
LaBlaq @LoveAndShalom
Please, please, please don't sweep this under the rug. Your disabled friends are in danger.
We must unite and fight this!
disabled black lives matter too!!! I need able bodied ppl to make some noise about this!!!! learn your state, counties and local hospitals eugenist and racist polices, be active about trying to change them. this shit has been black & brown & disabled ppl before covid19
i know lots of other disabled ppl of color who know how unsafe and abusive the medical field is, we are given subpar care that could and has killed countless disabled black and brown folks, we are put on DNR’s (do not revive) against our wishes, we are told were liars and faking, we cant treat our disorders like adhd and chronic pain without medical staff think we are drug seeking
Mr. Hickson is a drop in the bucket of the systematic medical racism and ableism that kills us. now more than ever i need yall to be advocates for your disabled members of your community, Mrs. Hickson was her husbands voice in the hospital, and they took that away, covid cant be an excuse to rip disabled ppls advocates away
Arizona is coming our with score cards to triage covid patients to decide who really should get medical treatment, older folks and ppl with pre existing conditions immediately placed into a lower rank of priority due to how long we may life after coronavirus. In the Uk and probably here too drs and nurses are ASSUMING disabled ppl automatically want DNR’s which is mad illegal. Wait times for treatment for poc and disabled ppl are longer than white and able folks, nurses have exposed that people of color are dying, disabled ppl are dying not just from covid but medical racist/ableist neglect from staff
Racism and ableism play a mixed up dance that kills us, via cops &or medical staff the same forces that killed Mr. Hickson is the same that killed Kayla Moore, a black disabled trans woman who died in police custody
Charleena Lyles, a black mentally ill mother who was killed by police
Regis Korchinski-Paquet, black indigenous and mentally ill person who died durring a “wellness check”
Elija McClain, a black anemic person, who died bc of the cops and emts
Sandra Bland, Eric Garner, Tanisha Anderson and so many more blk ppl killed by police violence are disabled

John Boyega at Hyde Park demonstration #BlackLivesMattter
[Transcript]
[Boyega]: I want to thank every single one of you for coming out. This is very important—this is very vital. Black lives have always mattered! We have always been important. We have always meant something. We have always succeeded regardless, and now is the time. I ain’t waiting! I ain’t waiting! I have been born in this country, I’m 28 years old, born and raised in London, I’ve grown tired—every black person understands and realizes the first time you are reminded that you are black. You remember, every black person in here remembers, when another person reminded you that you are black. So none of you out there, all those protestors on the other side protesting against what we want to do, protesting against what we want to try and achieve, [?] you, because this is so vital.
[Other voices, to crowd]: Sit down! Sit down!
[Boyega]: Sit down, guys, we have to sit down. If you could sit down, if you can sit down. Now I need you guys to understand, I need you to understand now how painful this shit is! I need you to understand how painful it is to be reminded every day that your race means nothing! And that isn’t the case anymore. That is never the case anymore. We are going to try today—we are a physical representation of our support for George Floyd.
[Crowd cheers]
[Boyega]: We are a physical representation of our support for Sandra Bland! We are a physical representation of our support for Trayvon Martin! We are a physical representation of our support for Stephen Lawrence! For Mark Duggan! It is very, very important that we keep control of this moment and we make this as peaceful as possible. We make this as peaceful and as organized as possible. Because you know what, guys, they want us to mess up. They want us to be disorganized. But not today! Not today!
[Other voices]: Not today!
[Boyega]: Not today! And now this message is specifically for black men. Black men, we—[Boyega cuts off, crying and bending over from emotion]
[Crowd]: Speak! Speak!
[Other voices]: You can do this, you’ve got this.
[Boyega]: Black men, black men, we need to take care of our black women. We need to take care of them! They are our hearts! They are our hearts, they are our future, we cannot demonize our own. We are the pillars of the family. Imagine this, a nation that is set up with individual families that are thriving, that are healthy, that communicate, that raise their children in love, have a better rate of becoming better human beings, and that’s what we need to create. Black men, it starts with you, and it’s done, man—we can’t be trash no more. We have to be better.
You don’t understand, I’m speaking to you from the heart. Look, I don’t know if I’m going to have a career after this. But fuck that--[words bleeped out]. This, today, is about innocent people who were halfway through their process. We don’t know what George Floyd could have achieved; we don’t know what Sandra Bland could have achieved. But today we’re going to make sure that that won’t be an alien thought to our young ones. I’m sure you lot came today, you left your kids, and when you see your kids there aimlessly playing, they don’t understand what’s going on. Today is the day that we remind them that we are dedicated, and this is a lifelong dedication. Guys, we don’t leave here and stop, you know. We don’t leave here and stop. This is longevity. Some of you are artists, some of you are bankers, some of you are lawyers, some of you own shops, stores. You are important. Your individual power, your individual right, is very, very important. We can all join together to make this a better world. We can all join together to make this special. We can all join together!

Raise the age of consent in Nigeria from 11 to 18.
I don’t know if many of you are aware of the story of a young 11 year old in Nigeria that was gang raped by 7 men! It’s absolutely disgusting that this happened but because the age of consent in the country is 11, a lot of people excuse this disgusting act.
Please sign this petition to pressure the Nigerian government to change the age of consent!
Raise the age of consent in Nigeria from 11 to 18.
