I’ll be the first to admit, I’m not exactly sure where I’m going with this, but please just give me a moment.

Fellow theoryzens have been talking about balls a lot - it seems to be a reoccurring theme in NCT videos: footballs, basketballs, small globes… and tbh, I wasn’t 100% sure where everyone was on about but I’ve seen theories that maybe the represent worlds or something? I’ll admit it’s common for me to not know where other theoryzens are going.

But a misunderstanding on my part led to a possible discovery?

Balls aren’t just something that occurs in NCT related content. But EXO, as well. Let me present -

In the Power MV, when the members get their powers back, they’re holding glowing balls.

And that wouldn’t have meant much to me except talk about balls HAS been ongoing and I remembered something:

In the Boss MV, Taeyong pulls open a drawer and finds 12 stonish balls in a drawer.

And I had a lightbulb moment. There were 12 original EXO members and there are twelve balls. It’s a stretch, but…

We know NCT’s thing is going into dreams, creating, and waking up with that creation in reality (then repeat). …

It’s late and I have to work but I have so much theory stuff on my mind right now… I’ll be back.

Okay BUT WHAT IS THIS?!!

The thing about Kwangya and the SMCU is that it’s kind of brilliant on paper. But I don’t think SM was willing to go all in on it. They created a shared universe and did little to nothing about it. I mean, I’m all honesty, they did little to nothing with groups that had stories, too. Like when was the last time NCT’s plot actually plotted? EXO used to flat out tell parts of their story in MV but now it’s just context clues that allude to a story.

Maybe it all got to be too much, but that’s why you hire people to write the stories for you. Get creative directors to figure out how to translate the stories to screen. Be proactive. IDK. Kwangya and the SMCU just feel like someone fumbled the ball big time.

Idk if RIIZE will have a story concept, but if it there is one, it won’t be Kwangya related but I’ll just put them here if I have any theories about their concept.

What era are we in now? No one looks for a reason why people are gay anymore. Look at me. None of my friends are gay, but I am. Listen. Have you heard about this? People can accept and not mind if someone is gay, lesbian… but when it comes to someone in their family, they can’t accept it. You do know that it’s not easy being gay in this country. okay. new theory.

This train of thought started with someone pointing out that glass boxes are a common theme in the SMCU. We've seen them in NCT videos, Yunho videos, EXO, and Taeyeon music videos. And in my head, the one thing that a glass box represents (in connection with the SMCU, specifically NCT) ... cryosleep.

Imagine, twenty-three slumbering young men all lined up. What for? An experiment? Safe keeping? Both?

The person pointed out that while glass boxes are something represented frequently in the SMCU, there's one (maybe two) character that are seen outside of them. Ten (and Yunho). But this isn't an SMCU theory post ... or not really. It's almost specifically NCT theory.

We all know the story of NCT - boy meets woman in desert, boy is offered colors and boy chooses blue, draws an ocean, which appears in front of him. Yadda Yadda Yadda.

Well, what if that's a prologue? Like in the way story video games have prologues that explain the basis of what the plot is. It's not only something we as fans were introduced to in their mentaries, but also something new members are introduced to (we see this in the mentaries from NCT 2021 with Shotaro and Sungchan in the room with the tv and all the sand). Thus follows an entrance into the game.

My ultimate theory is that NCT are in a state of cryostasis, brains attached to a larger machine which inhibits dreaming ... connected dreaming. They share dreams, emotions, thoughts, stories, and all that. Why they're placed there, I'd assume because of an apocalyptic event and the dreams are ways to keep the brain active.

Do I think it's still an experiment? Yes. But I'm not 100% Johnny is the experimenter. Or the only one, anyway? Again, there's one guy that's always standing on the outside ... Ten.

This isn't fully formed and it's really hard to explain. but in a nutshell, the rest of it ...

- Kwangya isn't a real physical place. Or at least not with NCT. It's completely digital.

- I'm not sure HOW black mamba is involved, but it's a computer virus and is started to infect NCT's dream world. (similar fog in both the Black Mamba video and at the end of Sticker)

That's all I have for now, as this is all still forming. What does anyone think?

📺 TVXQ’s Rise As One

(!) Not a full-length theory like I usually write, just some thoughts I have that I want to share. But don’t believe this 100%!

Seems like everyone is interested with TVXQ’s lore nowadays and I decided to join. I may not be talking about THEIR lore but, instead, a little crossover with NCT’s. People probably have noticed this, but since I haven’t seen anyone actually talking about this MV and idea in particular, let me share with you what I have in mind.

TVXQ (東方神起) translates to “Rising Gods of the East”, though in the most recent SMCU video, they are “Speed of Light and Sound”. Lets say they have a higher role than most artists in SMCU and are aware many things in the entire universe. Perhaps Changmin was connected to the Neos at some point?

The scene where Changmin and I presume Yunho laying on a box with a TV in between them reminds me of how the Dream Lab would be set up. He dreamed of the Neos to communicate with them.

Water or Ether is a medium of connection. It is present, which means at this point, he is officially in signal with the neos.

My guess is that, he is telling the neos of them being in the dream world and their mission to connect to more people or to ‘wake them up’. As of now, that’s what I believe. Though admittedly, the part when they burned the TVs was rather odd to me. Reminds me of the scenes in NCTmentary where some members were in a smoke, could this be a reference to the possible fire accident caused by a chemical explosion? I’ll just keep that in mind.

The TVs show more videos of the sea and presumably tells us why the two boys went there at the end of the MV. Its the sea of unconscious, Ether, they are getting an idea that there are more people that they need to connect to. Similar to that one scene of Winwin and Doyoung in YearDream Stage 1. The pictures on the TVs remind me of From Home MV.

Interestingly, this being a Neo thing, there was a CCTV.

By the way, this girl from Changmin’s Human MV reminds me of a certain someone.

MAX Changmin is the devil and he’s here to tempt us all.

So... I don't know if what I need to talk about is the SMCU as a whole or Kwangya or...

I guess what I mean to say is that because of the thoeries I've read and theories I've come up with on my own over the past year, I always sort of assumed that the stories the SMCU would be in line with the stories already being told and cohesively so. But I don't know if it's like that - or at least so far.

To cover what we know...

- The phonebooth featured in Minho's Heartbreak carries over to the small clips in SMTown - and we know who seems to have been on the other end - Changmin of TVXQ.

- Minho seems to be given a location in which he meets Yunho, the Yunho we saw in Thank U. Yunho leaves a suitcase (branded with TVXQ's shield)

- Yunho gets out of the car and Minho drives away and calls Ning Ning and asks her to open the p.o.s, which she does. He drives a little further and drives through an open portal.

- In, we assume, Kwangya, he drives through a large gate and meets with Changmin. After delivering the package, things around Changmin begin to fix itself (which leads into his stage)

- Not following the same story, we see NCT 127 standing there. We get close ups of all thier faces and then a pulled back shot of them as a group before Kai teleports in front of them and the shots that follow seem to indicate that Taeyong and Kai's eyes meet.

-Kai turns around and starts to walk away and NCT 127 follow them.

Now, obviously, the parts including TVXQ and Minho are part of a larger story we haven't been allowed to see the full context of yet. Or maybe we have. But in a sense, it sometimes feels like everyone else has been playing in Kwangya for some time and the part with Kai and NCT 127 (and probably NCT as a whole) was them being broguht into larger universe (I'm pretty solid on the idea that NCT has basically existed in a bubble until now)...

Considering no one theorist has a solid of idea of which SM artists are playing the role of the villain (Like Taemin being a "bad guy", or the "Loki" of the universe, or Red Velvet being an army of the red force), I'm curious about what other theorists think about this...
