I love capturing images at night, especially iconic architecture like the Space Needle. This was taken the week Seattle got shut down, it was surreal being in the city when it was so vacant. Hopefully soon things can get back to some sort of normalcy and everyone can get back to living their lives. I captured this image of Seattle from the Bellevue side of Lake Washington on my way home from yoga a few days back. The beauty that is displayed through this photo is a reminder to me that as horrible and out of control everything feel at the moment, we should take a step back and remember the world isn’t falling apart. Frosty Mornings Ever since I can remember I have been mesmerized by the sparkle and shimmer of a frosty morning. It makes the world feel so clean and fresh. The air is crisp and chills the nose, throat, and lungs as a deep breath enters the body. Everything has a different sense of beauty and fragility. It makes me realize that the world can still be an amazing spectacle, without anything else but tiny frozen water droplets that shine in the sunlight. Winter can be a rough time of year for a lot of people that live in the Pacific Northwest. It takes a lot of mental strength to keep your mind in the right place through the gloomy days. Some days it may feel like the rain is never going to stop, the sun my never touch your skin again, and the gray is taking over your whole perspective of reality. It’s a challenge to stay in a positive headspace and it can feel like things will never get better. But they will; the rain and cold will soon wavier and lend a warm embrace from the sun. The first signs are the blossoming buds that give us the inspiration to get out of our funk, pick our heads back up, and feel like ourselves again. Always remember to keep the light at the end of the tunnel in sight. Don’t feel like you’re alone in this struggle. Reach out to friends and family when you’re feeling down and don’t be afraid to express your emotions. I promise, it will get better.

Life is daunting at times and can feel like a constant uphill battle to reach your full potential. By taking it day by day, step by step, moment by moment, and keeping your head up it makes things feel more obtainable. Always maintain your dreams and goals, don’t let them fade from your mind, while concentrating on living in the NOW. Don’t overwhelm yourself with focusing on the end goal, it will happen if you just stay consistent and keep climbing to a higher level. Eventually things will come to fruition and the top of the mountain will come into view. Life isn’t a sprint, it’s a long journey, keep moving forward and never look back.
