Luca loved the early hours of the day, when their somewhat sleepy town felt even sleepier somehow.

After a run along the beach, he was only half paying attention, distracted by his headphones and the still-steaming coffee from Driftwood in his hand until a shadow crossed his path that shook him out of his stupor.

"Oh jeez, scared me there! What's going on?"

even when it was early, bianca didn't mind it one bit. she wanted to go out and feel the fresh air before her day started and became busier. however, during her time outside, she was a little distracted by an animal from a distance that she didn't notice luca. until she heard his reaction, which caused her to jump and let out a quiet scream as well. a hand was placed on her chest as she shook her head lightly. “sorry. i should have watched where i was going. i was just going out for a walk and got a little distracted.”

her face lit up at the question before giving a light clapping and keeping her hands together. “i love going on walks. nothing can beat hiking, especially when there's a nice view too..”

pocahontas: do you enjoy learning about history?

bianca gave an expression that was a mix of embarrassment and hesitation as she felt bad for the answer she was about to give. “not really… i think history and math were my least favorite subjects in school. sorry.”

dream job… truthfully, bianca never thought about what she wanted to do in life for a career. she knew from a young age she wanted to take care of animals and plants, but never specified what she wanted to do. she had a lost expression on her face before pursing her lips. “i'm not sure,” she muttered quietly. “i don't really have one, i guess.”

it wasn't long for her to come up with an answer, as she instantly replied with, “my family. they've always been supportive of what i want to do in life and i'm grateful for that.”

Romeo looked at the colorful plastic bags on the shelves with furrowed brows, clearly deep in concentration as if he was about to make the hardest decision of his life. He had been out of anything edible in his house for three days now, having put off shopping after his last grocery haul went half-spoiled in the freezer. He needed things he could put straight into his mouth out of the bag: items that wouldn’t spoil quickly in case he forgot he bought them.

“Which is the healthier option, saltines or plain white bread?”

“do you mean… saltine crackers?” her nose scrunched slightly before finally giving an answer. “definitely bread. at least the carbs will give you more energy than saltines will. if you want a healthier version of bread though, you should go with wheat.” out of all choices, she wondered what made him decide on saltines and white bread but didn't bother asking about it. “do you have any ideas on what you're going to get for protein?”

bianca tried not to judge on the first statement he made. people made mistakes and she understood that, so she assumed that was the case but the way he ended the story made her slightly confused. eyebrows furrowed before saying, “do you think he knows what a hearse is for? maybe he was just looking for a car in the same color. that could be the case, right?” she didn't want to think it was for any other reason.

growing up in aurora bay, bianca matos was known throughout town for being a rowdy kid. she was the type to run barefoot wherever she could, jump in the water without a care in the world, and protect anything in nature. if she knew trees would be destroyed, she'd show up and protest, knowing by getting rid of them would do more harm than good. unfortunately, due to how different she was compared to most, she was made fun of.  it didn't affect her at all first but over time, she began caring. thankfully, due to her family's situation with getting a new job, they moved out of town during her high school years. it was a way for her to get a fresh start and be somebody else. as much as she continues to care about wildlife, she wanted to try to be different and different is what she became. after being influenced by others, especially those who were considered popular, she had a new wardrobe, wore make up for the first time, and transformed into a new person on the outside. with her new appearance, it eventually led to her being scouted and sooner than later signed to an agency, as a model. she may enjoy it now, but she still misses who she was and thought about her hometown constantly. it's a reason why she decided to come back, and hopefully stay in town longer this time.
