another OC dump : these are Cede The Lost and Aethelward The Protector 

Did them for a class last year but I really love them. 

At The Edge of the Forest : Cede is an orphan who ventures out into the forest, which no human has done in years. He happens to find a whole new world within the forest filled with far and wise sprits. But he is ultimately lost, and ends up disturbing one of the forests oldest protectors. They capture him and ask for his help, to travel to the edge of the forest, and find out just what is happening in the world. Aethelward is assigned as his guard, as punishment.
