Help me put together my first apartment please!
Moved in two days ago and it’s feeling beer bachelor bad. Only permanent things in right now are the chair and tv. Plan to pick some things up on marketplace but want some input on layout and colours etc.
Is the room too small?
I’m for some advice on our weird front room. I’ve attached several pictures that hopefully show the layout sufficiently (please excuse the mess - kids, pets and moving stuff around will do that lol).
The room is open to the rest of our house (dining area shown in one photo). It’s used primarily for my working space as we have yet another living room at the back of the house that we spend most of our time in.
My idea is to get rid of basically everything we have in there, put a couple big comfy chairs facing the faux fireplace wall with a round jute rug and perhaps a console table behind to “separate” the spaces and create a wall of “built ins” for my office space, similar to the inspiration photo attached (credit to https://homeonharbor.com/2022/08/21/the-ultimate-guide-to-ikea-hacks/).
Firstly, what do you think of my idea? Is there something better you would recommend about any of what I just said? Lol. Secondly, if I do go through with my plan would you do wall to railing for the built ins, or leave some space on either side?
I am honestly open to feedback here, this room has always perplexed me and I feel like it’s the one room in my house I haven’t yet gotten to a place I can love.
blue and felt like my space was too beige and dull. So I tried to get a blue tone rug blue pillow blue vase and blue curtains. I also moved the stand up lamp into the room to make it more cozy and put the plant up by the tv.
Do you think I should go for a different color couch? Do these colors clash? Anything to add or take away from space? A different rug?
Couches and tables are all hand me downs.

Question: Which tile placement is better?
Help improve my new home’s colour palette 🎨🎨
Hi all, this is the first draft of render for my first home ever. I am hoping for a cozy mood / feel for this new place. As mid-century / comforting as much as possibe.
I think the colours for the kitchen cabinets be improved for the wet kitchen, as well as the dry kitchen’s oven cabinets. I dig the pink but not so much the whitish cabinets. My designer wanted to do a sage green for the top cabinets in the wet kitchen. I’m wondering if the living room walls should have another colour like shades of green / taupe/ grey, or a different contrasting colour in the living room cabinets instead of the current whitish.
If any of you has ideas or suggestions for a better colour palette for any feature (walls / cabinets / anywhere), please comment away. Thank you in advance.

I didn't sit down but I will own one in the future
Where should this furniture go?
How would one obtain a room in this style?
Can you tell me how to get a room like this?
Where does this furniture belong?
Does this room violate some design principle?
