Hello! I am looking to download your Cooking Assets mod in correlation with Twinsimming's baking mod. I see you mention adding codes in the images/instructions. Is this needed for the mod to function properly in game? If so, where/how do you put the coding? Thanks so much!

Twinsimming already added the codes to their recipes. You don't need to do anything more than add them to your mods folder. If however you were wanting to make your own recipes then the spreadsheet is just letting you know which codes would be used in the recipes.

Hey, I've been well.

I rearranged my house on New Year's and unfortunately hubby broke my computer desk during the move. He promised me he would build me a new desk but sadly as of yet hasn't had the time to do so. Due to the computer not being setup I'm not working on anything despite the many WIP I have sitting there itching to be completed.

I have a bunch of requests which I would like to complete as soon as I'm able to make stuff again

I really like collecting and crafting in game so I love making new ingredients+plants and recipes although I do enjoy taking a break from all the fiddly parts by making an object every now and again. I would love to learn how to make clothing one day as well as learn how to make a script mod as I have so many ideas of things I'd love to add to the game yet my skills in making them myself are just not quite there yet.

Hello everyone,

I have been very slack on actually sharing stuff I have made and I am hoping to be more active next year.

I love to make custom ingredients, plants and recipes. So I was thinking I can open up a sort of request for that. I don't want to be making anything from scratch but I would be happy to convert anything from TSM, TS2, TS4 or to update anything TS3 for example you have some decorative food I can turn that into a functional recipe. So I am basically reaching out to say if you have something you would love to see in TS3 let me know and I will try my best to make it happen.

Cooking Assets

I have been working my way through converting recipes. Although I am not ready to share any of my current recipes as of yet for a variety of reasons. I did make some objects which are shared between a bunch of my recipes. I don't know how helpful they will be to other creators but as I have been helping a few people learn how to make new recipes I figured now was as good a time as anyone to actually share something.

I have converted all of the ts4 wedding cakes and these where what I made to use in my recipes. I cloned the mesh EA uses inside the mixing bowl and gave it some new materials. I took a couple of EA meshes for cake tins and made some new materials to match the mixing bowl materials. I didn't like how when you pulled your cooked cake out of the oven it was suddenly a fully decorated cake so I went and made some uniced versions of the cakes. My recipes will now pull this uniced version out of the oven and then when it is placed onto the counter it will switch to the iced version curtesy of the cake connector mod. Instructions on use are in the image hopefully I explained it well.

You can download it at SimFileShare I also made a spreadsheet with an image of every object, geostate, material option along with the coding you would use in your recipe/cooking process in case anyone needed.

Hello! I am wondering if I missed a step when installing your corn stalk default replacement. I have the version that's compatible with OmedaPixel's default plants, but it appears the textures are missing in-game. Is there anything that can be done?

Hmm, I'm not sure why that's happening for you. I actually went and downloaded the package to check that I did in fact included the textures in case it was a matter of needing the original EA Store content for them to work. But as far as I can tell from my end my package should have everything needed.

Hello, I'm glad you like them. I placed my ingredients recipes mod on hold in my WIP folders for now as I got carried away with my ideas and I need to know how to code to implement some of them.

4t3 Oversized Crops. I ran into quite a few problems when making these new harvestables but I've finally got them to a stage I am happy to share with others. Please be aware there are still a few issues with them. 1) To make them function as I wished I needed to tick the "is mushroom" on the ingredients. This means that in your collections tab they will count towards your mushroom collecting, but due to the bonus from mushroom collecting being applied to these plants as well I felt this was okay. 2) When the plant dies it will change geostate rather than material, this means if the plant dies before reaching full size it will appear as if your plant grew and died as the dead state is full sized. 3) As I currently have these set you will need Seasons, Supernatural and the store object Humble Harvest Stands. You can however edit these in s3pe to remove those requirements. I have listed the issues which can be edited below the cut along with the images of each plant and how you can edit them. Download: Sims File Share Don’t forget you will need the CCLoader mod found here and unless edited some expansions and store content is needed for these to work. A special thanks to @bioniczombie for the extracted files.

Oversized Aubergine: When planted this will grow on one of the three plants, set at random. After it has been harvested it will reset to the mycelium stage of one of the three plants again at random. I have it set so that all recipes which use the Purple eggplant can also be made with this oversized aubergine. As such you will need the store content Humble Harvest stands for this unless you were to edit the ingredients xml in s3pe. The part you need to change is in the oversized aubergine's Parent line, switch EggPlant with Fruit (or Vegetable if you'd rather).

Oversized Lettuce: This only has the one plant, however it will reset to the mycelium stage after harvesting. I have it set so that all recipes which use the EA lettuce can also be made with this oversized lettuce.

Oversized Mushroom: When planted this will grow on one of the three plants set at random. After it has been harvested it will reset to the mycelium stage of one of the three plants again at random. I have it set so that all recipes which use the Porcinis can also be made with this oversized mushroom. As such you will need Supernatural for this unless you were to edit the ingredients xml in s3pe. The part you need to change is in the oversized mushroom's Parent line switch Porcinis with Vegetable.

Oversized Pumpkin: There are 3 colours to the pumpkins each has it's own set of plants in the correct colour but all will function the same. When planted they will grow on one of the three plants set at random. After it has been harvested it will reset to the mycelium stage of one of the three plants again at random. You will always get an oversized pumpkin even from the plants which look smaller. I added the pumpkin carving to these as well. They however will revert back to EA's pumpkins once you start carving. This means they will give you EA's pumpkin seeds and the end result will be EA's orange jack-o-lanterns. I have it set so that all recipes which use the EA pumpkin can also be made with this oversized pumpkin. As such you will need Seasons for these unless you were to edit the ingredients xml in s3pe. The part you need to change is in the Parent line switch Pumpkin with Vegetable and removed both the CodeVersion and Medator_Name lines from all 3 pumpkins.

Oversized Watermelon: When planted this will grow on one of the three plants set at random. After it has been harvested it will reset to the mycelium stage of one of the three plants again at random. I have it set so that all recipes which use the watermelon can also be made with this oversized watermelon. You will always get an oversized watermelon even from the plants which look smaller.

Last but not least I have left all of these as edible which in all honestly looks rather ridiculous. If you wish to removed this oddity from your game you can easily do so by editing the ingredients xml in s3pe you will want to switch the IsEdible line for each ingredient from True to False. If anyone wanted to help me write some new script for the plants so they can retain the "ismushroom" functions without actually ticking that line in the ingredients xml and so I can make some new jack-o-lanterns I would be ever so grateful. I hope you enjoy these and if you run into any problems please let me know.

And here I was thinking I would get away with never being tagged. I don’t typically join in on this sort of thing yet from all the ones I’ve seen, people seem to be enjoying reading them so maybe I should thank @zoeoe-sims and join in with the community more.  ​ Are you named after anyone? No, however my mother and her friend were pregnant at the same time neither knew the gender of their baby. The friend liked the name my mother chose and asked if she had a girl could she also use that name? my mother said yes but asked they spell it differently as there are 2 common spellings for the name. So I have a childhood friend who is older than me yet named after me in a way. She has an additional e in her name which I guess is the more common spelling where I live now as I have spent most of my life correcting people.  When was the last time you cried? I think I cried during a k-drama yesterday. Do you have kids? yes, I have 4 beautiful boys. Aged 10, 9, 7 and 2. Do you use sarcasm a lot? Not particularly. What sports do you play/have you played? I’ve never really been one for sports. And this was more a hobby than a sport as I never raced but in my teen years I did motorcross.  What’s the first thing you notice about other people? I don’t get out much but I’d say I notice if they have children or not. Scary movies or happy endings? I enjoy both and I used to be really into scary movies but now days if I needed to pick something to watch it would probably be something with a happy endings.  Any special talents? Not that I can think of. Where were you born? Hollywood

What are your hobbies? Other than creating for the sims 3 I like to draw, mainly Celtic knotwork. I developed my own personal style. I also like to do origami and I cross stitch Christmas decorations every year for my children, nieces and nephews. Do you have any pets? yes, 2 dogs. Our 4 year old girl is a staffie x whippet and our 2 year old boy is a border collie. They both compete in dog agility.  How tall are you? 170cm or 5′ 7" depending on where you’re from.  Fave subject in school? Graphics (technical drawing) was my favorite subject followed by math.  Dream job? I always wanted to be a mother of 4 so I guess I’m doing it now as a stay at home mum however it would be nice to get paid for it.  Eye color? Hazel. You notice the green in them more if I’m wearing green.

Just thought I'd pop on to let people know I'm alive and well however I am unable to do any modding for the time being. I've reached the point where I'm forced to update to the EA app yet my computer keeps blue screening and turning off, so until I can sort out my dying computer and get the game up and running again I'm out of action.

100 Follower’s Gift!

I know it’s a tad late but I really wanted to show my appreciation to everyone by sharing a little something I made. With an extra thank-you to @aroundthesims for letting me give her photo strip & polaroid a digital upgrade. 

These are all base game compatible and function as digital frames. The photo strip was designed specifically to be used with the photos from the photo booth. There is a polaroid for your normal photos/greeting cards and then 4 more which were designed to use the photo booth photos these will display only one image from the whole photo and are named as to which of the 4 images you will see.  And finally there is an object called fake wall slots. This is a strip of 6 slots which have been rotated 90degrees so surface objects appear to be on the wall it can be moved up and down so you can place these more freely as shown in the photo.

Known issues: They hide on walls down even when placed on a table top. I had to make a choice either always up or hidden even if on a table. Sometimes the greeting cards and photo booth photos bounce back into your inventory, this is a glitch within the game itself nothing to do with my frames. You could try adding a photo from your camera/cell phone to the frame first and then the greeting card/photo booth photos as this can sometimes fix the glitch.

Cook-able ingredients! I worked out how to make recipes for ingredients (you must have pets for these to work). Once you have cooked them you have ingredients in your inventory ready to be used in another recipe. I have made a bunch of recipes for existing cc ingredients. They are all functional, however I still need to make/switch all the models for the cooking process so they are still a WIP for now.  I was just so excited that I got it all working that I wanted to share now, as my life is going to be busy for the next few days so I am unsure when I will get around to finishing these.

I’m not going to explain how to make a recipe here, I’m assuming you already know how to make one or can follow a tutorial to make one. I’m just going to point you to how to make the recipe make an ingredient rather than a meal.

Here is the example of the one and only EA recipe that functioned like this:

The lines in bold are the lines needed to make this recipe make an ingredient.  CodeVersion this is needed otherwise it will make an edible recipe. PetFood again needed to make it function correctly. Due to this the recipe will be listed under the “make gourmet pet food” interaction which is available any time of the day (perfect) and don’t worry you can’t use your ingredient to fill a pet bowl.  Is_Harvestable again needed to make it function correctly. Harvestable_Name this is the ingredient key you wish to be made. Number_PetFood_Created this is how many of the ingredient you want made.

As soon as the recipe has been made it will be placed into your inventory and replaced with however many ingredients you set so you only need to have the one Single_Full model no need to make any of the others you would use in a normal edible recipe. I set mine to use the ingredients model.

And that’s it. If you give this a go and get stuck I’m happy to try and help you trouble shoot. Looking forward to seeing what the sim3 community comes up with, with this added knowledge.

Cheese collection now with less cowplants. As @desiree-uk reminded me not everyone loves the cowplants as much as me. So here are the cheese ingredients again but they will now grow on the staked bush just as the EA cheese does in game. Everything else remains the same as the original post here. Note: Only use one of the mods as they will conflict.

My children and I just love the cowplant, so of course I made a whole bunch of cheese hybrids; which you can grow. I got permission from @aroundthesims to share my custom cheese ingredients I made with her edible cheese. You can find the originals here.

The new ingredients can all be found at the grocery store in the “Dairy” tab. I have not made any custom recipes for these, however any recipe that uses the EA cheese can now also use any of these 14 cheese types.   1. Brie   2. Camembert   3. Cheddar   4. Edam   5. Emmental   6. Epoisses   7. Goat Cheese   8. Gouda   9. Maroilles 10. Mimolette 11. Sainte-MaureDeTouraine 12. Shropshire 13. Stilton 14. Tome To be able to plant them you will need to have learnt how to plant cheese by completing the Uncommonly Good gardening opportunity. All 14 ingredients grow on my cowplant, however each ingredient has it’s own custom lure to match the cheese which grows. The Tome is shown in the example above.
