Kal had told her far more times than she could count (which wasn’t very high in the first place) to “stay out of the friggin sewers” but it was so easy to get from place to place without running into trouble that she tended to ignore him. Granted she always smelled a little funny afterwards, but it was a fantastic way to make people avoid her too so she didn’t mind it.

However, hearing someone else sloshing about in the damp network made her very nervous. Grabbing the dented metal bat she’d uh… “borrowed” from the local park’s baseball field and an old plastic flashlight she kept on her hip, she held both at the ready and continued walking, feeling tense and nervous as could be.

     God, time travelling fucking sucked. 

      He forgot how the sewers smelled, even though its a hundred years before his time. A permanent frown was etched on the giant alien hybrid’s face, way past uncomfortable and nearing the thinning line of murder. The promise of someone or something dying tonight ran rampant in his mind as he turned by the corner, then faintly recalling how he even got here in the first place.

     With his absent thoughts and very clear lack of training in the art of being a warrior, he failed to see the small figure before him. He kept walking, his long legs and big two-toed feet bringing him just a few steps away from the tense form holding a flashlight. Curses slipped from his lips and floated into the pungent atmosphere, the tick in the creases of his face tensing more and more.
