13. muse 1 stands up for someone bothering muse 2
The bell had just rung for lunch break. Okuyasu just finished taking a math test that he had not studied for, no surprises there. Now he was on a search for his best friends so they could hang and have lunch together. Josuke would usually wait for him outside his classroom so that was good place to start looking.
As he was making his way towards that direction, he overhears Josuke talking to some other classmates. He was unable to hear what they were talking about. The one thing he could tell was that his friend was flustered by the sound of his voice. Okuyasu made haste to turn the corridor to figure out what was going on.
He finds, not to his surprise, upper class students disciplining, harassing was a more accurate term, the pompadoured youth. He and Josuke didn’t follow dress code regulations at school, but since there were a few others who altered their uniforms, the school would often let it slide. But that didn’t stop prefects from abusing their authority.
Josuke could handle his own, but when he was at school he would do his best to respect teachers and prefects, even if they didn’t deserve it. Some even started to catch on that he was sort of a sitting duck at school, as long as you avoided ridiculing his hair, Josuke would just take it.
I guess this is were Okuyasu steps in.
“Oi! Are you punks lookin’ for trouble cuz you just found it!”
He starts walking towards the group. All he had to really do was make his voice be heard and the prefects would back off. Most of them were cowards anyway. How quickly they Josuke alone after he appeared proved that.
Out of the two of them, Josuke had the most restrains with his emotions and hotheadedness, with the exception of his hair. Okuyasu didn’t think, he would act. This was made very clear to the upperclassmen students and knew that they could not easily take advantage of him. He had no one at home to reprimand him for getting detention once again so he wasn’t intimidated by such punishments. He made sure that prefects knew that.
“What cowards they are for messin’ with you here. If they tried any of that outside of school you’d show no mercy.“
He looked at his best friend with a big smile on his face.
“ But you have me to watch out for ya here and out there. C’mon, let’s go find Koichi.
