I simply can not take people seriously who use psychiatric terms and ideas to explain the world. Now I realize most people haven't learned about the criticism of psychiatry, and how it's simply plain wrong about how people work. But that means I won't take those people seriously.
This goes even more so for people who talk about abuse and explain it in psychiatric terms. Psychiatry's explanations of abuse as rooted in mental and psychological disorders is downright harmful for understanding the issue. It is actually offensive, especially since psychiatry is an institution full of abuse. It's the abuser's own explanation of abuse.
For that reason, I can't take anyone who talks unironically about "pedophiles" for example. People who do so generally are the most stupid and dangerous voices in any discussion on the subject of child sex abuse. In reality, child sex abuse happens because of how our society works. It happens because of how children are disempowered and isolated in our society, especially by the institution of the family. It doesn't happen because the perpetrators have a mental disorder called pedophilia that makes them attracted to children.
And i don't talk of "narcissistic abuse" seriously. No I don't think that man abused the women he was in a relationship with because he had narcissistic personality disorder. He abused her because they live in a society that allows him and encourages him to abuse women. An NPD disagnosis just means a doctor thought you were a selfish asshole (sometimes because the patient is an abusive man, sometimes because the doctor doesn't like the patient).

So because I used to work with a lot of young men, I've seen/read a lot of manosphere shit (genuinely I had to know what a sneako is for work) and read/watched a lot of opinion pieces on the manosphere.
Something I notice is, when men discuss the manosphere, they either centre the reason boys fall down that pipeline on some inner weakness or defectiveness of the boy, ie. "they're just autistic weirdos who want rules for women because they can't get their dick wet," or they centre the reason on women, "feminism had made women too woke, mean and impossible to socialise with."
What I noticed while working is that every single little Tate goblin I had to work with had conservative parents, and I have never once seen that aspect of all this discussed. Boys will reflect the social norms they are raised in within their household. The biggest preventative for manosphere bullshit I saw in the boys I worked with was a dad who isn't a fuckwit and a household that isn't LARPing the 1960s.
Blaming disabled people and women for shit men do instead of the men in the immediate vicinity with an active role in the situation seems to be a trend.

the worst writing crime you can ever commit in my opinion is watering down the dirty talk because you’re self-conscious that it sounds like it’s from a bad porno…..i cannot stress this enough……leave it alone. the moment you tell yourself he would not fucking say that you’re doomed. people will say almost anything if their dick is hard enough
