801 Reflections
I'm here to word vomit because I'm from the day and age of Live Journal.
I am 1000% pleased with how this reconciliation went down.
I have to admit, I (and I think most people) always expected more hesitancy from Lucy, worrying about being able to trust Tim again etc. She was also kind of on and off with her feelings at the end of s7 so it was hard to get a vibe from her.
I did NOT expect this happy, giddy, confident Lucy.
I was so pleased in that scene that she had no hesitations. She was READY. Tim had worked through his issues, and she had worked through her pain. She asked Tim if he promised to be a better communicator - the one thing she needed to say - and then when he said yes, she trusted that. And she allowed herself to go for it, and be happy.
It was so refreshing to see a reconciliation without drama or lingering doubt/resentment.
The conversation was short; I always knew it would be. But looking at it now, nothing more really needed to be said. In 610 Tim already implied he was sorry and took accountability for the pain he caused her. In 706 they clearly knew the spark was still there and feelings were lingering for both of them. In 708 Lucy knew he still loved her and she was his priority. In 711 they both admitted they weren't looking to move on with anyone else. In 715 Tim told her why he did what he did (and, who knows what else since we didn't see most of it) and Lucy realized/told him she forgave him. Even by 716 when she took the exam they seemed to know it was the last piece of the puzzle before "physical intimacy." And though Lucy didn't hear it, WE heard his promises in 718 - to assure us he's done the work and he's sure he won't hurt her again. Lucy may have fallen asleep, but she definitely knew that he was trying to talk before she dozed off, because she was responding to him after he started talking about their relationship.
By the time they got to the conversation, all they had to do was make it official - they're both ready, this will make them stronger, they love each other, and Tim wants her all the way in his life (versus the way he shut her out in the events leading to the breakup).
I LOVE that they just fell back into their happy, giddy selves.
I also loved that Angela knew when to push Tim. She left him alone for the majority of the breakup. She is, after all, the only one who really knows what went down, why he was so broken, why he left Lucy the way he did. She let him heal, and once he was ready - and already making an effort himself- that's when she gave him the final push when she saw he was starting to get scared.
He denied to Angela that he was scared, but he instantly admitted to Lucy that he was, and told her why. Lucy is the safe space she's always been, but now he's ready to let her be that - open up to her, even if it wasn't something he wanted to tell Angela because Lucy is the one he will share everything with. And when he expressed his fears, she was able to talk him through them and reassure him - guess what? Communication works!
Even the scene where he's worried she got shot, she was clear and concise with him to assure his worry. Someone pointed out on Twitter she didn't just brush it off as "I'm okay!" She told him exactly what happened - she twisted her knee - communicating with him the way she asked him to communicate with her, because she knows how panicked he gets worrying about her.
There is NO SECRET I hated the breakup era. It hit me a lot harder than I expected, having always believed a breakup could come (after all, this is a popular ship on a drama series). I also always knew I'd be able to appreciate it more when the arc was wrapped up, and I do. I really like the scenes at the end of season 6. I still think season 7 was lacking and could've showed it better, but I now clearly see the progression in their healing as I mentioned above. My biggest issue when breaking them up was worrying if this was going to be one of those ships that then gets drawn out until the end of the series, starts dating others, etc. Once I was confident that's not where they were going with it, it was a lot easier to appreciate. It was refreshing to see a breakup journey where the whole time they know they still love each other, and are not trying to move on. I'm so glad they let them get back together, and we have time to see how their lives continue together.
Like I said, I was not quiet in my feelings about them breaking up. But we definitely got the best possible breakup we could've. They're back together within a reasonable amount of time, Tim has worked on himself, they never got into the dating others phase, they got out of it without any huge damage to either of the characters (neither one did something so unforgivable for example), and the show is still running so we get to see how they progress from here.
I am also really pleased with how they did the moving in together storyline. I think it hit SO much better like this than it would have if they had just moved in together after dating (or dating again) when it was the obvious natural next step. It was so surprising in 718 that Tim brought that up, we weren't expecting it. It's a great gesture in their recommitment to each other, immediately takes their relationship to a new dynamic upon getting back together, and Tim saying he wants her in all of his life is the perfect line after how they broke up when he was trying to shield her from himself.
I also love Daddy Cop at the end. IDK why it gives me a warm happy buzz, like all is well now, Chenford is happy again.
I'm excited for ALL that's to come this season. It sounds like a great season, and now that we have Chenford back together, it's easier for me to enjoy everyone else bc I'm not constantly stressed about them.

Seems like they are forgetting about time zones. I don’t know much but I don’t think it can be daytime in LA and Prague.
Oooo I was thinking 6 hours- but it would be 9. Yeah no.
But hey- it’s still time in this show. We know time doesn’t matter!
definitely the kind of thing that irks me bad!
I think it's accurate though?
It was nighttime in LA and day in Prague.
Celina said the raid was in 30 minutes when Lucy got into the car. The sun was just rising so about 7am.
The Prague meeting was at 4pm which is exactly 9 hours ahead of LA.
You were so concerned about what I deserve. How about a real, adult conversation?

What were you gonna do if I said no? I didn't have a plan for that.
Well, this season may give me my muse back.
