Low-effort witchy things to do

-bless your morning tea/coffee every day. Set an intention like, “I am confident and happy, and I love myself” whilst stirring it, then tap the spoon on the mug 3 times to seal it.

-look at your crystals and pick one that matches your needs. Tell the crystal what you’d like to attain from it. Carry it around!

-bless your water before you drink it. Just say “blessed be” and imagine a purifying light shining through it.

-when my friends are sad, I like to send a blessing in my head towards them. “may X have protection and feel loved today”. Obviously you should also try and talk to them if you can, but this is a nice option too.

-make crystal elixirs by sticking a crystal into a jar of water overnight (or for a couple of hours). You can intensify your intention by putting a sigil onto the jar as well. Remember to research the crystals to make sure they’re safe in water first!

-do you spend a lot of time on your phone? Try to put it down for 5 minutes before bed time and just BE. It’s technically meditating but call it whatever you want! Put some selenite in your hand to help purify your energy even more.

-speaking of meditating, when you’re travelling somewhere, try to look around you and find bits of natural life to look at. Quiet your mind and try to focus on those things.

-when you shower, visualise the water washing off all of the bad energies, and sending them down the drain!

-drink herbal tea that corresponds to your intentions.

-open your window at least once a day to cleanse the room and make it feel lighter!

-practise self-care in any form if you are able. Self care truly is witchcraft.

Remember, nobody except you can define your craft. Don’t let anyone tell you that you’re doing it wrong!

Your path of spirituality is going to evolve and change.  This is a good thing.

Your beliefs will go through seasons.  You will plant seeds of knowledge; you will tend to them as you learn.  You will harvest what you need; you replenish by sharing.

And occasionally, you’ll fuck up.  You might plant in barren soil.  The seeds you are given might not be what you were looking to grow.  Obstacles might get in your way.  You aren’t perfect.  And it is okay.

I used to think that I needed to debate and fight, so prideful of what I knew and understood about witchcraft and my spiritual practices.  It was unnecessary and it tainted my practice.  I had to change.

Sometimes, I look back on my old posts and cringe.  I think of how foolish I was.  I debate on hiding or deleting them, but I figure this: I would rather be transparent and show my growth than hide what I once was, regardless of how silly I seemed.  I am not ashamed of who I used to be…

…I’m just different now.  My beliefs have changed and deepened.  

Don’t be afraid.

Bad Penny

Here’s a fun little jinx I used to cast a lot.

You Need:

~ A penny

Hold the penny in your left hand. Get angry. Whatever makes you angry, think of it now. Make a fist around the penny and hold it up to your mouth. When you’re good and angry, start swearing at the penny, calling it nasty names, telling it ugly things. Go on as long as you like. (This is a great way to vent!)

When you’re done, say, “Pass it on.”

Drop the penny in the house of someone who’s annoyed you, use it to pay at a business that’s done you wrong, give it to someone you want to inconvenience, sow discord in the world for the lulz, go nuts. I used to charge ‘em by the handful and scatter them downtown when I was partially homeless and hated everyone and everything.

Notes:

As some of you may have realized, you can use this as a way to cleanse! If you don’t want to weaponize the penny, say “Hold that for me” when you’re done charging, and dispose of it safely or cleanse the penny.

Do not keep the penny. Just do not. I once cursed a penny, dropped it so it landed in my shoe by accident, and had a stunningly shitty day. It takes ten seconds to cast if you have a penny and you’re already angry. Storing them up just means they go to work on you. So if you want to carry ammo, just keep uncharged pennies on you and charge them as needed.

The ‘hold that for me’ doesn’t sound bad, yet at the same time… ‘Something else is suffering for you’ in a way right? Does the negative energy just dissolve over time? Or could you also take a breather afterwards (only after venting out all anger, not calling the poor penny any names, yeet) and ask it to take this energy and convert it into something positive? Maybe even giving out this converted energy later, would that work in any way?
