The Spanish moon moth is a moth of the silkmoth family Saturniidae. The moth is native to Spain and France. The caterpillar primarily eats the needles of pine trees (genus Pinus).

SurpriseĀ Promethea (Callosamia promethea) emergence in the garage yesterday morning - itās been *cold* so those pupae should have been quiet. I took her out last night for some glamour shots and was sad to discover that sheās got a wonky wing that did not inflate.

the asian fairy-bluebird is a uniquely colored bird found in forests of southern asia. with only one other species in their genus, the philippines fairy-bluebird, they are distinct birds, the males having bright purple and black coloring and the females having a duller green-blue. both sexes have a bright crimson iris. these birds feed mainly on fruit, but also feed on nectar and occasionally insects. x
