Headcannon that after the war Percy has this insane (actually pretty sensible☝️) idea of asking the hypnos kids for help with his nightmares. The solution: Clovis becomes his sleeping buddy to help him learn how to navigate and control his dreams.

Now you can't walk around camp without catching them looking comfy and taking naps all over the place 😴😴

one of my favorite subtle implications in the series is that it seems the Titan Army was fully banking on Percy being the host of Kronos. Why else would they make their main base a cruise ship if their primary enemy is a son of Poseidon? Named after Andromeda, the wife of Perseus? Why would they work on Oceanus specifically being free so much? Side notably with other children of Poseidon? Why plant Zeus and Hades' items of power on Percy when Luke already had them? Why only Zeus and Hades' items, not Poseidon's? Well because they really need Percy as Kronos' host, that's why. (and Poseidon siding with them because of that would be a bonus as well)

I like to imagine Luke's cabin on the Princess Andromeda is fully decked out with like "WELCOME PERCY" and sea-themed sheets and everything and he hates it so much cause it's a constant reminder he failed and he was Kronos' second choice. Also then he gets his super special pegasus not even exactly stolen by Percy, but the pegasus willingly defects to be Percy's personal steed instead, which must just be insult to injury. Luke has immense one-sided beef with Percy and Percy has no idea.

Luke being given a quest at 17, feeling like there's no glory in it because it's a quest someone's already succeeded before, but then failing that very quest he considered to be beneath him, getting a permanent scar, "ruining it" for the rest of the campers because now no one else can go on quests and earn glory in the eyes of the gods, so he turns to Kronos, and years later here comes a possible candidate for the great prophecy, 12 years old, gets the first quest the camp has done since Luke's fucked it up, and Luke is actively ensuring this quest is an impossible quest!! he's literally rigged it so Percy's gonna fail (the shoes, the bolt appearing in his bag) and then this kid somehow succeeds still??? and not only that, Percy got the unique quest Luke wanted in the first place and achieved feats no one else had and earned glory in the eyes of his father, all because Luke created the circumstances for that to happen??

oh my god yeah I don't think I'd ever recover from that either

percy being so soft spoken and quiet and introverted and kids at camp with rough home lives (basically all of them in some way, shape, or form) finding peace and quiet with percy. there’s a base level of hero worship with the way people talk about him and his quests and feats, but then they actually meet him and he’s so down to earth and they can just sit in silence with him and do their own thing together and it’s like sitting on the shore letting the water lap at their feet as they breathe silently. for as much of a force of nature as he is, percy’s peace and serenity is unmatched.

#like just. percy hiding out in the arts and crafts cabin reading a comic book #and one of the newer unclaimed kids also come to hide out and percy just shifts over and lets them join him #and they draw while percy reads #and toward the end the kid shows percy their drawing and he gives them a little smile and nod of approval #murmuring a soft compliment at the details in the drawing #and this new kid thrown into a world of chaos that they still struggle to believe in #is able to find reprieve in percy’s company and quiet support #percy covering for the kid afterward since they skipped out on their lessons and was about to get reprimanded (via @alannaswrld)

i know the ancient greeks wore sandals all the time those were their shoes whatever. but achilles wearing sandals to battle when his heel was his vulnerable point is equivalent to if percy had worn a crop top and no armor to the battle of manhattan. to really cement the parallels i think in the adaptation percy should wear a crop top and no armor to the battle of manhattan. he is fifteen it is august it is his hot girl summer

percy visiting olympus but not to visit the gods. literally just to get inside the throne room and play with bessie. pulling water from his tank to make floating water pools for bessie to jump through. zeus coming to the throne room like hours later and he happens to glance in the corner and see bessie and percy curled up together in the tank, sleeping peacefully against one another

percy deciding to go home for the school year at the end of tlt does feel like a direct parallel to turning down immortality at the end of tlo to me. here’s a chance to simplify things, to forsake your mortal life, to throw your whole self into the world of the gods. to which percy says no thank you, i love my mom
