The Art of Handiedan.

HANDIEDAN’s mixed media artworks are a delicate cut and paste mixture wrapped in contemporary antiquity. She meticulously combines classic pin-ups and movie images with paint, ink, yellowed sheet music, old fashioned playing cards, money, stamps, Chinese papers, old wood, rusty metal and doodles as a playful mixture of filigree and a newfangled amalgamation of imagery.

Body Music : DJ Daito Manabe for dENiZEN

Denizen, an off-shoot of Levi’s, worked with Japanese electronic engineer DJ Daito Manabe to produce this video showcasing his magical music machine which producing sounds based on movement. We’ll let LS & Co. explain more “On his latest project with dENiZEN™, he is making music with the movements of the human body.

Working with celebrity choreographer Mikiko Mizuno and some of Japan’s top hip-hop dancers, Daito designed unique sounds for each dancer’s unique personality and dance style. Together, the dancers created music that truly moved to their own beat.”

I discovered this label a few months ago and today they released their fifth EP with "Helblank - Flowers & You" so I think it's time to talk about.

Full Fridge is an independant French bass label that aims to provide some of the best in free music, helping talented producers to make a name for themselves and get noticed in the community.

Here’s how they describe themselves.

Manaré - Pearl EP

After more than a year waiting for him, Manaré is back.

French label Youngunz have been smashing things this past year and their upcoming release, Manaré’s ‘Peal EP’ is sure to continue the trend.

They just released a fantastic teaser video (directed by Ben Sandler, with a realisation of the Creative Sweatshop and Werkstatt for the motion) with great animation that fits the track perfectly. This is "pearly" good. Can't wait…

Will be out on all digital platforms on October 31st, includes remixes from the crazy Marble Players and the exotic Chaos In The CBD!

Eiterquellen is an ongoing project by Vienna-based photographer, Stefan Furtbauer, which aims to document Viennese outdoor diners and fast food culture.

“Viennese wurstel diners were introduced during the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy around 1870 to establish a safe income for wounded war veterans. Since then they’ve become an essential part of urban culture not by only supplying snacks but being the place of the distinctive Viennese working class.”

Skulltastic Pop Cultural Figures

Motohiro NEZU, an L.A. based graphic designer and illustrato, has taken several iconic figures and given them the grim reaper treatment by converting their faces and bodies into nothing but bones.

Although these individuals have been given the horror treatment, they’re still recognizable due to the iconic poses they have been depicted in. Some of the familiar faces Motohiro Nezu has used include Run DMC, Jimi Hendrix, Jules and Vincent from Pulp Fiction, Mike Tyson, Notorious B.I.G, Fidel Castro or the President Lincoln.....

Wide Open Walls project

Roa is in Gambia for the Wide Open Walls project, an art safari: “1000 cans of paint. 8 artists. 2 weeks. 1 Village".

This project trying to focus attention on the development of the region of Makasutu in Gambia and fight against the massive deforestation in this part of the world.

In October the 8 artists will travel to The Gambia for two weeks, staying at Mandina River Lodge at Makasutu Culture Forest. They will then travel each day to Kubuneh village by boat to transform rural Africa into a living art village. Kubuneh is part of The Ballabu Conservation Project, an 85 sq kilometre area incorporating 14 villages.
