sims3archives is a new blog run by the community with the purpose of collecting and re-hosting all of the lost custom content released throughout the years for the third installment of the game.ย by doing this, itโll be much more convenient for both new and seasoned players to find cc in the future. we strive to maintain an easily navigable and organized tagging system with individual previews and proper credit to the original creators.
however, we need your help to achieve all of this. first and foremost, weโre looking for a couple of extra hands willing to help run things. this will mainly consist of helping to track down lost cc and answering requests, but in this start up phase it would also be great with some people to give input on theme, tags and other general things relating to the blog. if youโre interested, please message either this blog or contactย @simmister.
just as importantly, we need plenty of help with collecting all of the lost cc to re-host, so if youโre sitting on something you know is no longer available, or if you have something specific that youโve been looking for, please reach out! we would really appreciate it.
so how is this going to work? if you discover something with a broken download link, or something that has been completely taken down, you can send in an ask with the piece of cc in question (and the post itself, if possible) to ask if someone has it. the ask will be published so someone else can reach out to us with the file to be re-hosted if we arenโt already.
alternatively, if youโre already in possession of something that weโre not, you can reach out to us through ask or messages with the file and/or a link to the original post, and weโll take care of the rest!
how and where will it be hosted? we havenโt fully decided on where to host yet, but it will most likely be done on simfileshare. itโll be sorted into folders and sub-folders like so;
creator no. 1
ย > genetics
ย ย - skins
ย ย - eyes
creator no. 2
ย > clothing
ย ย - skirts
ย ย - shoes
and so on. as for the blog itself, there will be a link directly to the overview of the folder in the sidebar, but each piece of cc will also get its own post, preferably reblogged from the original creator whenever possible with a direct link to the re-hosted file.
