It's the way Joy says she ain't good with people, and yet gives them respect and was the one in the room who managed to find a way to reduce charges in Orlando Diaz's medical bill and gave the Diaz family a light at the end of the tunnel.
It's the way Ogilvie says he feels he was born to do this job but has no respect for Louie or his passing, has no real empathy for the patients and only gives a shit about showing off how intelligent he is to the residents and attendings.
It's the way Joy says she can't handle being around death, yet is the one who immediately seeks to give a moment of silence to the motorcycle accident patient. Even showing a flash of pain at the thought of not paying respect to the newly deceased.
The way Joy is an active learner, asking and challenging the attendings, residents and nurses around her when treating the motorcycle accident, even when she gets it wrong. She isn't afraid of being corrected, and immediately stores that information away. There is no pride. Ogilvie, meanwhile, is a lanky bundle of insecurities, needing to be right all the fucking time. He's a gunner, like Santos, but without the competency, charisma and sheer fucking heart to save people and protect women and children under her care.
For someone who feels she isn't right for the ER, Joy has done nothing but prove herself as an actual good fucking fit for the Pitt. Ogilvie on the other hand brown-nosed so hard he got actual fucking shit blasted all over his arrogant ass.
RIP Louie, Rhonda and their child. Jesus fucking christ this episode destroyed me.
