“We’re so close to publishing the next book and I couldn’t be happier about it. I think we’re scheduled for a February release! Early March at the latest. It’s all rather wonderful.”
toulxuse:
Toulouse couldn’t help but grin as Wendy rested against him. Despite looks from the dog, he laced one hand with Wendy’s. “Tu es parfait comme mon petit chou,” The red-head said gently before lifting his girlfriend’s hand to his lips, placing a gentle kiss on the back. “So, where exactly are we getting off again?” Toulouse rested his head back against Wendy’s as his eyes looked around. It was relatively quiet. People who did sit nearby were wrapped up tightly in their coats.Â
"I thought it would be nice to make a pit stop at Central Park before visiting my parents later,” she replied. “Enjoy what’s left of winter with you and Duke while it's still here. It’ll be his first time seeing it in the snow. I’d hate to deprive him of the experience for another year.” In lieu of dwelling on the idea of George spending more time around Toulouse, which Wendy had been anticipating and dreading all at once, she supposed giving her mother a spare hour to prepare lunch would be a good idea. She gave the puppy in her lap a soft stroke, closing her eyes momentarily as she got lost in the moment.
toulxuse:
Toulouse continued to watch Wendy’s interactions with the dog closely. He could practically feel the happiness and warmth radiating from her. “Cabbage?” He laughed, eyebrows raised. “I definitely did not call you a cabbage!” The gent chuckled, pressing a light kiss to Wendy’s temple. “While chou does mean cabbage, the term mon petit chou comes from the French for a certain type of pastry. So it’s most accurate translation in English would probably be my sweetie… or my sweetheart.”
"You didn’t?” Her embarrassment was hidden under the guise of disappointment, a poor excuse of a frown manipulating the curve of her lips. Teasing, of course. She’d found the whole exchange to be rather endearing, from her own flustered reaction to his reaffirmation of it’s true meaning. “While I am truly devastated that I haven’t earned the title of your little cabbage...” she rested back against him, her head falling onto his shoulder. Her eyes gazed at him with what could only be described as wholehearted fondness. “Mon petit chou sounds just as good to me, love.”
booboobethie:
“I mean, you can snuggle your friends…but you can’t make out with them. I mean, unless they are your best friends. Still, I figured it would be fun to have a date.”
“Well... I think that relies on who the friends in question are, but you’d be surprised. Some people consider kissing as much of an intimate thing as holding hands, even when they’re entirely platonic. The benefits of a date would be solely for the long run... if that’s what you’re looking for. And even so, nothing is for certain. Go for what makes you happy.”
carefreepeter:
“I have a few ideas that I’m throwing around. Nothing definite, though.”
“Can I hear them? Or... is that strictly need to know information?” her finishing inquiry swam in curiosity and playfulness, a quick to her brow indicating as much. She didn’t want to impose, but at the same time she was still his friend and she wanted to know more about his life-- his plans, all the while remembering to respect boundaries. “If not, I’d love to hear them. Maybe I could help?”
booboobethie:
“Oh. I don’t have a lucky person yet. That’s really what I’m planning for more so than the actual day. I don’t need to go out on V-Day. I just want someone to eat ice cream with and watch a bad movie.”
“You certainly don’t need a Valentine to do that! I think it would be equally as lovely to have friends over and do the same thing. You can never fault that.”
toulxuse:
Toulouse smiled as she watched Wendy’s behavior with the dog. She completely adored it, and all her motherly instincts kicked in. It was delightfully adorable. “Well let’s hope he get’s used to me,” His voice remained hushed as he spoke, in fear of scaring the puppy. Toulouse tentatively stroked him before pressing a kiss to Wendy’s cheek. “How are you anyway, mon petit chou?” Tully sat back, smiling at Wendy.
"I think it would be rather strange if he didn’t eventually,” she gave a light chuckle upon the kiss to her cheek, her eyes alight with glee as she noticed the dog gazing up at them both, his head chanted to the side in curiosity. It was obvious he wasn’t quite finished receiving his own attention. Wendy scratched behind his ear, to which he responded positively, before narrowing her eyes back at Toulouse. Her understanding of French wasn’t what it used to be, but she could easily pick up on certain things. “Cabbage?”
xtermis:
“I quite enjoy the life you say I’m trapped in, yes,” gesturing to her stud and gym with her hands, “ besides there’s no such thing as love, it’s just a fantasy. The sooner you learn about it the better.”
“I disagree,” she interrupted. “Love is as real as you are before me. It’s as genuine as sadness, or anger, or joy. Even hatred itself. It surrounds us every day, in everything we see, no matter how overlooked it remains. I dare say I feel it myself in every second that passes me by.” Wendy frowned. “And for you to rebuff it’s existence, I feel deeply sorry for you.”
“It’s early days,” Wendy said, one hand caressing the small creature in her lap, turning to her company. It wasn’t usual conversation, but she’d been more inclined to share when asked about her new pet. Especially considering the attention he seemed to attract. She was comfortable on her seat in the crowded subway, consumed by layers of clothing that kept her safe from the cold, the dog in her lap clinging to her in caution of his new surroundings. “He’s adjusting, but he’s not quite used to strangers yet.”
carefreepeter:
“So, is it too early for me to start planning for Valentine’s Day?”
“Oh, Peter! It’s never too early. Do you have any idea for what to do for Tink yet?”
concretejungleartist:
“So, this is love. This is what makes life so divine.” Terk grinned as she took another bite. “And don’t get excited. I’m not referring to you. Just this slice of avocado toast..”
“Avocado, hmm? I’ll have to admit I’m partial to apricot jam myself,” she let out a light spring of a chuckle. “But in that case, I’m glad you’ve found the one. I hope you cherish it dearly.”
safilles:
“ I’m going to LOSE my shit ! “
“Oh! Is there... is there anything I can do to help?” voice quiet, her movements noted and gaze cautious. “We can talk, if you’d like. I’d hate for you to do something brash without thinking it through rationally.”
booboobethie:
“Is it too early to start asking for someone to be my Valentine? Because I think the earlier, the better!”
“No! It’s definitely not too early. I think you’d do rather well by planning things in advance. You can never be too prepared for these sorts of occasions.” She paused. “And might I ask who the lucky person is?”
