HI! INTRO! [long :( ]

Heyaa my name's Bird! I am "new" to Tumblr, but have become VERY active as of late. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Local guy with ADHD and a current hyperfixation on: ??????????

I am not very involved in fandom, as in I don't read fan fiction, typically consume other fan content, pick up on shared headcannons, things like that. I like looking at fanart and love talking to people about shared interests, though!! I just tend to stay in my own little world when it comes to things I like. Hence why I talk here, to the wall, so much LMAO. (I don't hate fandom, by the way!!! Y'all are great :))

I mainly post ramblings about things I like, fanart, or music related stuff! A lot of things that are just words will have poor wording or make you think "what the hell is he talking about" because I am someone who enjoys over-analyzing absolutely everything!! I draw, act, and play a numerous amount of instruments (some better than others) including: Viola (main), piano, violin, drums, banjo, ukulele, and some others I have only messed with once like cello or guitar. I also love to read but it's hard sometimes when I have a hyperfixation.

Theater: The Play That Goes Wrong, Clue, TGWDLM (all of Starkid basically), Spies are Forever, Falsettos, RTC, (I'm basic).

Misc: Undertale/Deltarune, The Magnus Archives/Protocol, Dead Meat (I like the horror genre as a whole :) ), Malevolent Sonic, Spider-Man (duh, my pfp), It franchise

Going a little insane over the Eridian language today. I've been aligning a bunch of the words on a spectrogram to visualize & compare the frequencies and not only does the language remain consistent throughout the film, but the words are enunciated in different ways depending on the context. Give everyone working on this movie an award RIGHT NOW

Very cool sound design detail! I saw an interview where James Ortiz talked about trying to give Rocky an emotional character arc, something that was absent in the book and script. He talked about telling the story of trauma recovery physically through Rocky's body language. How he wanted the audience to feel Rocky's journey from shell-shocked to feeling comfortable in his own body again.

And that's reflected in the sound design with Rocky's echolocation noise.

He makes this sound when he's trying to "look" closely at something, usually objects. The cool thing is, he also does it when he feels insecure. Whenever he gets vulnerable and uncomfortable he pings this noise at Grace. It's like looking really closely at someone because you're anxious to know what they're thinking.

He goes from doing it before and after every sentence, to less and less as they get familiar with each other. He's suddenly doing it non-stop again for the whole one-way trip conversation, when Grace is actively hiding his emotions from him. It doesn't show up again after that until the end when he hesitates before calling Grace "brave".

I love the part in the book where Grace is so horrified to find out everyone thinks he's fucking Stratt. The instinctive repulsion towards the idea. The "Oh my God, is that what people think?," because he's never going to get people to stop believing that. You can't prove a negative. The fact that someone follows it up with, "You should be." The follow-up horror that once again sex/romance is not only the expected outcome, but the one desired on your behalf.

The way that, for once, this doesn't lead to a revelation about repressed romantic/sexual feelings. That man is aroace and I will die on this hill.

Ryan Gosling scares me because he actually seems like a very kind and polite dude. He’s a talented musician and a really good actor, which was shocking to me because i kind of expect a lot of really well known hollywood male actors to just be meh. But no! He’s good!! Actually really good! And the music thing? He can play the piano very well and sing well? He was in a band that is right up my alley and that I’ve been looping???

I hope i never meet him because he terrifies me. He’s too…cool?? I guess?? Or something. I can’t explain it.
