I saw your recommendations for long barantos fics and as a new fan, i just had to bookmark them all. Thank uuuuu!!
Do you have any recs for one or twoshots for them? Yaknow, for when you want a quick fix of barantos content?
Aaaah, hi! Those fics are all so amazing, the authors are incredible!
I don't read a ton of shorter fics if I'm honest BUT I went back through my history to find a few! 'one look, dark room' by m_oliverfan (10k oneshot of Trinity and Baran meeting outside the hospital, both still doctors) that I mentioned before is one of my absolute favourites, 'the seven ex-lives of dr. trinity santos' by zeniksnina is a very fun one (9k oneshot about reddit discovering ex-gymnast Trinity Santos is now a hot doctor, mostly Trinity focus with a sprinkle of barantos).
'wet teeth, shining eyes' by sapphic_thots (5k oneshot, Trinity being reluctantly great with kids, in this case not realizing her tiny patient is Baran's son.) 'like the sap from a cedar, rolling down to be near her' by losinggdogs (6k oneshot, Baran being casually tactile and Trinity being soft and gay.) 'Abandoned Mines' by BirdyQueen (2k oneshot, Trinity and Whitaker are doing an urbex thing and Trinity ends up at the hospital as a patient and the painkillers loosen her tongue, very funny.)
I think that's all I have for now, but I might add more later! Thank you for sending this ask, all these writers are so wonderful and their work brings me so much joy and I hope it does the same for you!
Baran taking Trinity into an exam room after she injured herself at work, bit her tongue so hard it bled. Trinity, sat up on the edge of the bed. Baran, stepping close to her.
Baran: Open wide.
Trinity: *knees parting before her brain can intervene*
Baran, smirking: Your mouth, Dr Santos.
Trinity, a shade of red only seen in farmers market beetroots: Right, of course.
The one day the ED is experiencing a slow afternoon Baran's suppressants fail and she ends up going into heat far earlier than expected. She hands off early to a very understanding Abbott. Trinity spots her forgotten phone in the locker room and opts to drop it off before heading home for the night - assuming Al-Hashimi went home early because she was ill.
Queue a very confused but excited Alpha resident getting jumped by a very horny attending she has definitely been crushing and flirting with on for approximately 2 months and 3 days.
it had started with an invite after a shitty shift near thanksgiving. dinner at my place sometime, on me. just a little off-hand gesture that was so trinity santos it was painful, but it had been extended nonetheless.
they were doctors, away from family on one of the busiest nights of the year, they all needed to decompress sometimes. it wasn’t like either of them had other plans.
so baran had accepted and brought groceries and flowers and wine-
except she can hear the argument coming from inside trinity’s tenement building before she’s even got up the stairs, and she’s 90% sure trinity’s forgotten about the invite as well.
she knows she shouldn’t stand in the stairwell and listen, but she hasn’t got much choice. her earphones are already out of her ears and trinity’s voice is so loud and so hurt that the sound of it bounces off the walls and ricochets up and down the building, straight into baran’s ears.
“I cannot fucking believe you, yolanda.”
“I’m saying you should come with me, oh my god-“
“no, not oh my god, it’s thanksgiving and I’ve made food and you’re fucking cancelling on me while you’re still standing in my fucking apartment. I thought it’s the least you could do, especially after fucking huckleberry-“
“jesus, if you’re going to be like this, I’m not sure i even want to spend it with you. you’ve got plenty of other friends you can invite-“
“yeah, all of whom who are either at work or with their families, as they should be, and none of whom i want to spend some actual romantic time with-“
“no?”
“what?”
“I don’t know, you could’ve fooled me.”
they both must sense the smug tease in yolanda’s voice because baran hears her own breath hitch and trinity’s tone goes so low that baran almost didn’t hear what she says next.
“what the fuck is that supposed to mean?”
“please, you think I haven’t seen how you’ve been making googly eyes at every resident, attending or fucking med student that gives you the time of day? you’re like a lost puppy, following everyone around, pawing at their legs and wondering why you keep getting kicked. it’s pathetic.”
another short silence followed where baran could feel blood pricking in the palm of her hand, digging her nails into the skin as tightly as she could.
“okay, actually you know what?” trinity spat, voice hurt and trembling slightly. “get the fuck out. I don’t want to spend thanksgiving with you and honestly? I think we should just stop…whatever the fuck this is altogether.”
yolanda’s laugh was knowing and smug. “oh yeah? how many times have you used that line now? when are you ever going to mean it?”
“fucking now, yolanda. fuck you.”
“mhm, yeah, okay. why don’t you call me when you’ve got your panties out of a twist, alright?”
“fuck you!”
the apartment door opened and baran didn’t have time to shrink back into the shadows before she came face to face with yolanda garcia, who simply smirked and raised an eyebrow when she saw her.
“oh, of course you’re here right now. like magic, eh?” she chuckled. her eyes flicked to the wine and flowers in baran’s side bag, narrowing slightly. “enjoy those. invite me next time though, yeah?”
baran clenched her fist around the strap of her bag.
baran glared after garcia’s figure as she descended the stairwell, eyes burning daggers into her back as she went. the building door slammed shut and baran leaned back, exhaling. she was about to figure out what to do next when a voice pierced the air again-
“wh-what are you doing here?”
baran’s head snapped up from the railing. trinity was standing in the doorway in a shirt and sweatpants, her hair loose and damp around her shoulders, staring at baran with an expression somewhere between surprise and sheer despair.
baran stammered for a moment, mouth opening and closing like a fish as struggled to find the right words. she held up the wine awkwardly. “I, uh, thought I’d take you up on that invite?”
trinity blinked at her. uncomprehending.
yes, baran thought momentarily, she’d definitely forgot.
when neither of them said anything, baran’s shoulders dropped. “shit, sorry, look…I can see this is a bad time, I’m sorry. I can go.”
“no.”
“it’s okay, dr santos, really-“
trinity spoke a little firmer. “wait.”
baran stopped, hand on the stairwell railing. she looked back at trinity uncertainly.
trinity had her hand on the doorknob, a frown knitting her brows together. “aren’t you spending thanksgiving with your kid?”
“he’s with his father this year.” she supplied slowly. “we, uh, take it in turns when it comes to the holidays. samir has him for thanksgiving. I’m having him for christmas.”
trinity nodded, but the frown remained. if she thought it was a weird set up, she didn’t say anything about it. instead, she just dropped her head and sighed. “i’m guessing you heard all of that?”
baran shifted awkwardly. “I didn’t mean to eavesdrop.”
“you’re fine.” trinity said tiredly. “it’s nothing we haven’t said to each other before. do you want to come in?”
“do you want me to come in? I don’t mind, it’s just…I can see you’re a bit upset, dr santos. I don’t want to intrude.”
trinity just shook her head and pushed the door open a little wider.
“I could use the company. and the wine.”
baran blinked. “alright then.” she started back towards the door.
“and call me trinity, if we’re doing this. you’re not my boss outside of work.”
baran would argue that she very much is still trinity’s boss outside of work, but the younger woman looks so tired and defeated that she relents that information for a later time.
she smiles as she passes her, pretending not to breathe in the vanilla smell of trinity’s shampoo.
Thinking about Lena and Kara’s first time having sex and Kara being scared of hurting her. Lena would definitely put some red lamps so that Kara doesn’t hold back because Lena likes it rough. 😏

Summary: Trinity dragged Dennis to an urbex outing during their day off, joining friends in an abandoned mine near Pittsburgh.
She wasn't planning on falling down 10ft into a hole and breaking her leg.
She also wasn't planning on shamelessly flirting with her doctor while hopped up on painkillers.
It would have been fine. If it wasn't her attending.
Trinity made one joke about needing to put Baran in an elder care facility.
One.
Now the other woman keeps leaving pamphlets for day care groups around for Trinity to find. And she knows Baran is doing it on purpose - she found one rubberbanded to her Redbull in the breakroom fridge.
She even got McKay in on it - coming up to the duo as they're headed to Baran's SUV and asking Baran what the going rate was for MILF babysitters watching R2s.
"So you're Dr. Al-Hashimi! It's so lovely to finally meet you!" Baran's brows came together in confusion, glancing at the patient’s surname.
Anderson was an absurdly common surname - not helpful.
"I'm sorry, I don't-"
"Oh-"
The privacy curtain was yanked back unceremoniously to reveal a very prickly Dr. Santos. Baran was halfway through making a mental note to discuss professionalism with the newly minted R3 when the other woman's words caught up with her. "I got the most hilarious call from Dale saying you were trying to clean the gutters at your big age and took a tumble into your begonias. I told you I would get the gutters this weeke-Dr. Al-Hashimi..." The resident’s eyes went wide.
"But how else was I meant to finally meet Dr. Al-Hashimi here?" The older woman asked with a the innocence of someone looking for hot gossip. "It's not like you're going to ask her out before I'm in the ground."
"Who the fuck puts Pedes on the 9th floor?" Trinity threw herself into the stairwell, took a few seconds to reorient herself before taking the stairs at a minimum of 2 at a time. She could hear surgeons a few floors down making their way down to the ED - stairs were faster than the elevators and the elevators would be getting packed with equipment for the incoming MCI.
The code was still echoing in her ears and Vahid's text that there had been an attack at the masjid would be forever burned into her brain. Baran had taken their son to to an event (because after 3 years of being with Baran, Omid was their son - Baran's, Trinity's, Vahid's, Vahid's husband Kevin's) and Baran had opted to help reorganize the food pantry until he was done.
If there was one thing that could get Baran to stick around it was the chance to redo a subpar spreadsheet.
"Whoa! Make room, noob." Garcia arm-barred a new surgical intern, pressing him into the wall as Trinity blazed passed them. "Never get between Santos and the ED. You'll be a patient."
Trinity barely registered the words, already slamming the ED stairwell entrance open and skidding to a stop in front of the nursing station. Emma didn't even look up from her task, coordinating with other hospitals via a nursing group-chat. "Santos! I already got word. She's enroute with a few others - Omid is fine, physically. A few cuts and bruises but overall the kids were unharmed. Dana is already getting everything prepped with Princess, Perlah and Mateo. Dr. J is coming down from psych to help. Dr. Whitaker is helping to coordinate with bloodbanks."
"And Dr. Al-Hashimi?" Trinity asked, green eyes wild - if Baran had called ahead she had to be alright.
It was Ogilvie passing by who spoke. "Fast track for the OR, between her and Abbot we'll have a whole attending."
