I feel like I haven’t been doing quite my best work of late. I’ve been a bit out of step.

It’s just that I’ve been so sick for so long now, it’s been 12 months. I didn’t realise it’d be that I kept think ~10 months. But no. This upcoming surgery will be the second, and the last. Coincidently, also the most major. It’s been a lot.

For months I couldn’t do anything and I feel like this interminably long wait for surgery has had me spinning my wheels a bit, knowing what’s looming just over the horizon. I don’t want to jump into anything too big, before an 8 week hospital admission. So it’s all been smaller pieces just to keep things going.

I’m hoping that towards Christmas, when all this is in my rearview I’ll be in a better place to produce more polished, finished work. This last year has been really hard.

I just am looking forward to that weight coming off my chest. It’s been a lot to carry for so long.
