I remember a long time back you said "Marissa's birth" was your favorite video. Have you found any new favorites, or does anything even come close?

That one is still my #1 favorite of all time! 💕 It's just soo good! 

A couple of other videos that I really like are "Bastian's Birth", and for non-graphic ones I really like JessFam's twin hospital birth, that one video of the woman giving birth in the car, and this one where she almost gives birth in the car (https://youtu.be/FtAKQ3DC5w4).

As the storm outside raged, Betsy screamed and bore down again. The midwife pleaded with her to push harder, she could tell the shoulders were stuck and there wasn’t much she could do for her out here. “Bets, baby’s head is out but I need you to shift your hips. The shoulder is stuck on your pubic bone, no amount of pushing will get him out until we get you repositioned.”

She cried as she tried to turn over, careful of the infants head wedged between her thick thighs. “Oh god I have to push!” she cried, the midwife quickly told her no, keeping a hand firmly on baby until Betsy was on her knees and it was safe to push again, and hopefully the shoulders would pop free on her next push.

Could you answer #12? (Your absolute ideal birth scenario?). It's been interesting how each birth blog has their own set of ideas? Do you have one you've been dreaming about for a while?

This is difficult to answer because it depends on my mood! But I'll try! I think my ideal birth would be a home birth. I would wake up in the morning with strong contractions that I could breathe through and lazily run my hands over my belly. Until I couldn't cope with the contractions anymore and had to try to deal with them in the shower, or trying different positions, or my partner rubbing my back and squeezing my hips. When the pressure is too much and my water finally breaks, I would love it to be a huge gush that pours out and keeps leaking. I would pant and breathe through contractions until I absolutely have to push because I can't stand it, and I'd love to have to push in every position I can think of until one finally works. Of course, I will have a big baby so it will come very slow, and I'll feel the agony of every inch that my pushes move it down even before it starts crowning. When it finally starts to crown I'd like my partner to help me stretch nice and slow with a hot towel or oil, and coach me and encourage me when to push as hard as I can and when to breathe and rest. It might take hours for it to finally crown, and maybe it's in a difficult position too so it's harder, but when it finally does the head will be born slowly with a huge gush of fluids and the shoulders will get stuck. It's such a big baby that it will take me pushing with all my might, and my partner pulling, to finally get the shoulders to pop free and the rest of the baby to gush out. Then I'll catch my breath and cry and be amazed that I actually did it. 💕

3. Hospital birth, home birth, or accidental labor and subsequent birth in public?I definitely want a homebirth where I can relax and enjoy every step of the process at my body’s own pace. And I like the idea of giving birth in the same bed the baby was conceived in.💕 But, I wouldn’t be opposed to a hospital birth if it was necessary. I don’t think I could be comfortable with a fetal monitor strapped too tight to my belly and my legs spread in stirrups, but maybe I’d be so far gone I wouldn’t care…

4. Would you want to be in a loving relationship where your partner helps you through the birth?Yes! I don’t want to give birth alone, it has to be in the hands of my partner.

9. Would you rather birth a 12 lb breech baby or a 14 lb posterior baby?Definitely a 14-pound posterior baby! Do you have any idea how huge that is!? I think a 10 pound baby is the perfect size, a big healthy chubby baby. 11 pounds is usually the upper limit of where my mind will stray when I’m fantasizing. But 14 pounds - that’s absolutely ridiculously gargantuan, record-breakingly, scale-shatteringly huge. 😍 I don’t know if I could even manage to crown it, but if I could… I absolutely adore the idea of a posterior birth. Dealing with painful back labor, squatting and rocking my hips on all fours, and begging for counter-pressure on my back during contractions, and. finally, struggling to crown a baby in an unoptimal position. I would lovee it.

10. Would you prefer birthing one baby, or multiples?I definitely prefer the idea of delivering one big healthy baby through a lot of struggle and sloww crowing, over giving birth to multiples.

Sara rested her controller on her enormous dome of a belly, as she played videogames. Her eyes were affixed to the screen but her attention was occasionally drawn away by the kicks and movement from within. Sometimes it was worse; braxton hicks contractions that urged her to take a break from the game, to put the controller down and get off the couch and pace around the room with her hands supporting her back until eventually they passed and she could get back to the important work of playing videogames.

It wasn't helping - the pain might temporarily slip away, but after only a few minutes passed a new pain would have her groaning, and squirming where she sat. As a last resort, she tossed the controller aside and waddled arduously to the bedroom - she knew something that always helped.

When it comes to giving birth, I love every part of it from start to finish. 💕I love the idea of my belly getting so big I waddle around, and the impending feeling of knowing that soon I would be giving birth... Feeling braxton hicks contractions and knowing it will be soon.And then finally its the big day, that I’ve thought about and fantasized so much, and every contraction in my massive belly is so enormous and powerful that it rocks me to my core. That feeling of fullness as the baby descends through my hips, and the ache of the pressure growing unbearable. I imagine every contraction will be so strong in my huge belly that I feel like I can’t take it anymore - and then finally, I feel the urge to push and I can spread my legs and work with that pain instead of fighting it, to squeeze the baby out...

I do, I love to breathe and push along with the mother in the video, and imagine that it was me there in her place. 

I have a toy that I use for pushing, its egg shaped and can be filled with warm water so it feels more "real" instead of cold and hard. Its not very large, but big enough to make it burn a little when I'm stretching... I'd love to go bigger, but its so hard & a little scary. Since its egg shaped, I can put it in so that the fat end comes out first if I'd like more of a challenge... ♥

Hi there! What's a posterior baby?

Posterior is the position when a baby is facing upwards, instead of down towards the mother's bottom where his head can be crowned easier. The regular position is called anterior, and normally a baby will face downwards and tuck his chin down making his head smaller in the birth canal. Posterior is the biggest part first. I've heard its much more difficult to give birth that way, and it causes intense painful back labor.
