Using white cishet male privilege for good: A How-To Guide by Bill Nye
things on my mind this week
something that bothers me is when cis lgb people see transphobia from cishets and say “smh straight people are so wild” like…. y’all know it’s not the het part of them that’s being transphobic? it’s the cis side? the cis side that you share with them?
cis members of the lgbt community, please remember you can be and often are just as transphobic as cishets, and you’re not immune to being transphobic. be better.
this is ok to reblog, especially cis people
10% of the notes are trans people who know exactly what i’m talking about and the other 90% are dumbasses refusing to rub their last two brain cells together to read the words in front of them
These poems written by trans men in the 1980s have got me emotional tonight.
From Of Soles & Roles, Of Sex & Gender: A Treasury of Transsexual, Transgenderist & Transvestic Verse From 1967 to 1991 (x)
yesterday i went to a gay bar for the first time, and I met two people. The first was a man well into his 70′s, who had only come out since his wife died. Even though he could barely walk, he knew every single person at the bar, and each one came over for a hug and to chat. The second was a transgender woman who, after two children and three grandchildren, had finally decided to live as herself. She was wearing heels and leather pants and makeup, and she was absolutely beautiful. she knew she was as well, and she was so proud and excited when people walked by and said “hey girl” without even thinking about it. point i’m trying to make is, it’s never too late to come out
“what do you want to do with your life?”
To all the LGBTAQ+ Muslims, you are not dirty. You are not a walking contradiction. You are beautiful and incredible. I want all my Muslim brothers, sisters and friends to know this that Allah has created you the way you are, and you are a child of his.
He loves you for who you are and what you do. You are a perfectly valid human and deserve every bit of happiness this world has to offer. This year we celebrate Eid-ul-fiter in the month of Pride to acknowledge our existence and embrace our identity.
Non Muslims are highly encouraged to reblog this post.
Islamophobic people, terfs, Nazis, Trump supporters and any lgbtaq+ phobic people DO NOT INTERACT.
i hope every Black lesbian has a great day today
gay pride cat
wlw themes in music videos
brief list of things that will make me shoot on sight if i see them this pride month and any time in general:
“hearts not parts”/”bi is trans exclusionary”
any dumb lesbian jokes by people who aren’t lesbians
ANY of those fuck ass calendars that split the month up into days for different identities (bonus points if there’s no day for lesbians!)
pride flag sets that don’t include the lesbian flag (there is already a widely used replacement for the pink one, you have no excuse)
any ace discourse. shut up. shut up. im so tired everyone shut up
the gays, on june 1st:
