On the gaming not being affordable thing, no less than 12 years ago you could buy used games both online and in brick-and-mortar stores for like 20 bucks or around that. I bought used copies of ps2 and ps3 games all the time online and they frequently ran me 15-25 USD. We had affordable gaming once upon a time, because once upon a time the most expensive part of it was the console and everything else had a work-around. Once upon a time you could borrow shit from friends or libraries instead of buying your own copy. Once upon a time you didn't need unique-to-the-copy codes to bypass DRM and actually play the fucking games you owned. Once upon a time it was a box with a disc or cartridge in it and you stuck the fuckign thing into the slot on your machine and it would just play and you could have fun right away. We used to have that. We do not anymore.

I stopped participating when things got too expensive. That's not the only reason (most games being live-service and multiplayer are actually a bigger reason, as i do not believe in paying for a game that will one day be unplayable) but it's a big reason why shifts in gaming trends won't get me back on board. I have (access to) a ps4, but don't use it. I do not have access to a ps5, and i probably never will. The only reason i even get to experience Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart is because they released it on steam, a platform i do have access to. Modern gaming is dead. And in my opinion? Good fucking riddance. Nothing this consumer-hostile deserves to continue to exist.

my biggest pet peeve is actually when white trans people insist that they're the most oppressed people in the world and then get mad when someone rightfully calls them out on their (usually horrific and unchecked) racism. I do actually think that being black makes someone's life harder than being trans does. bury me alive about it

i know this to be true because it's always the most oppressed people that get kicked out of the room first and while there's still a glut of white trans people on this website, you will be hard pressed to find black people on here. The black people that ARE on here are almost always cis too. Think about what that means. White trans women on this site are having an awful time but they're still here.
