“Mmhmm! That’s me!” Gail smiled a little, pulling away and readjusting the bags on her arm before looping it in one of Anty’s. “Aaand I totally agree, let’s get going!”

With that she was off, moving through the crowd with Anty in tow. She could take her to meet Ose! Maybe that would ease some of the tension? She was in too good a mood to think about the potential negatives, though.

Gail glanced around at the crowd that had quickly formed around them, seeing the quick looks away as she narrowed her eyes at them and the disappointment on others faces, as if they’d been expecting a fight.

She turned back to Anty, and seeing the expression on her face just about broke her heart. As if reading their mind, she stepped closer and wrapped an arm around their shoulders, giving them a firm hug. 

“It’s okay. I..thought I might have recognized you. You’re Antares, aren’t you?”

As soon as the other responded she was stunned, her cold look dropping for one of complete shock as they stood up and held the bag out to her. They were stealing things for their demon? Why would a demon need to steal anything, let alone send their ward to steal.

A flash of intense emotion had her swallowing past a lump in her throat as she shook her head. “No. Take it, it’s okay. The last thing I want is you getting in trouble with your demon.” She replied, fumbling a little with her cane as she took a step backwards. “I mean it’s easy to replace. I can just go and get more.”

It was only a shopping bag, really. Filled with very specific items that Ose had requested of her. There was still time to rush back up and collect them again.

Tripping up the other human Gail began to move,bags in hand and limping a little without her cane but moving swiftly through the parting crowd. Her expression was cold and dark as she saw the theif cutting at her whip. When she was several paces away she quickly retracted it, tapping it against the ground to form her cane again.

“What are you doing.” She asked, trying to keep her voice level and calm as she looked down at the other, hoping maybe that they could just talk it out. “Why did you run off with my stuff, huh?”

They were obviously another ward. That was the only reason a human would be there. But stealing? Why would there ever be a reason to steal?

She felt someone approaching from her side and made a point of shuffling just a little, gripping the cane at her side for comfort as she waited for them to pass. Probably just another demon going about their business, which didn’t have anything to do with her. It was fine.

Thoughts on how to make everything up to Ose kept her distracted, so when one of her bags was snatched up she blinked, taking a second to process what just happened. 

But it didn’t take her long. Silently she rose from her seat, tapping her cane on the ground before turning and flicking the newly formed whip towards the theif’s ankles, hoping to catch them before they got too far.

She was so not in the mood for this right now.

Gail sighed, stretching her arms above her head as she stepped out into the bustling streets of hell. She hadn’t slept much last night, and honestly had not had a moment to rest all day. First training, then a trip back to the world above for the sake of chores, now returning back underground for even more chores. She knew this was Ose’s way of punishing her - he hadn’t spoken to her since a few passing words last night - and it was certainly starting to take it’s toll. 

The demon had never been so disappointed in her, she was sure. He knew she had more tact and self control than this, which is what made this all the worse. In a way she was thankful that he’d given her so many things to do away from home, because facing him was not something she wanted to do right now.

Heart heavy, she made her way towards the less crowded part of the district, hoping to find some place to sit and rest for a little while. She found it in the form of a tiny bench off to the side, half hidden in darkness. Falling into it thankfully, she dropped her bags and put her head in her hands. 

She was way too tired, and honestly too sad, for this.

It concerned my ward, and thus concerns me. Your behaviour is vile, and you will end up working your ward to death. You will not find success from pushing her so hard or forcing her to do your dirty work simply because you will not control your temper. You are the only one of us who sees to lack that much self control. It’s embarrassing.
