They frowned at being recognized, but supposed it was bound to happen. "Y-yeah, that's me. I thought I recognized you too, you're Gail." Gail had a nice presence to her, and the hug was definitely appreciated. Antares thought about it, and decided that this was a dependable person, someone that they could trust. They hoped that someday this person would consider them a friend, too. But, other things had to be dealt with now.

They dropped their voice down to a whisper, feeling the eyes of many demons all around them, "Maybe we should get out of here."

"W-what? Really?" Their hands began to tremble a little bit. They'd been caught before. Not a single person is ever really kind about having their stuff stolen, but Gail... Gail was clearly different. Is this because of the mutual understanding Gail and Antares both had about the nature of demons? Whatever it was, Anty was thankful, nearly to the point of tears.

"Thank... thank you. I'll repay you somehow." They smiled. They almost wanted to hug Gail, but couldn't tell if that'd be an inappropriate gesture or not. "I'm sorry for the trouble, still." They hugged the bag to their stomach, almost as if they still couldn't believe they were being let off the hook for making such stupid mistakes.

"I-I-" Antares couldn't think. There was nothing they could say. They'd been caught and there was certainly going to be punishment down the road if Raum heard of this whatsoever. They had failed. The only way they could fix this would be through a fight, but this entire time they had been preaching about how they didn't want to fight.

They clenched a dagger in their hand and avoided eye contact, looking at the ground. It would go against everything they'd talked about to start a fight now. "I... I'm sorry. Stealing is something my demon has me do." They put their weapons away. "I don't want to fight. You caught me, you win. I was not careful enough."

Taking the bag, they stood up and held it out to Gail. “This is yours, right? Take it back.”

Antares had gotten quite a distance away before they felt something painfully wrap around their ankle, causing them to fall. They tried to use their body as a cushion so that anything in the bag didn't get damaged. On the ground, they pushed the bag away, and sat themself back up just to see a whip around their ankle.

Having not brought their main weapon along, they'd have to settle for a few daggers they'd managed to grab earlier. Taking them out of their pockets, they tried to slash at the whip wrapped around their ankle in order to free themself, all while trying to not directly show their face to the unfortunate girl they'd attempted stealing from.

A familiar face on a bench caught the attention of a hooded figure. Not quite remembering in the moment where they'd seen her before, they made a split second decision that this was their new target. She didn't seem too threatening, but there's always something she could be hiding, they considered. They cut through the crowd, being ever so careful to not stand out, and made their way closer to the bench.

They briefly considered that showing their face to someone that might recognize them would be a bad idea, but brushed off the thought as they were already under pressure from Raum to meet the quota. They had no idea what their demon was doing with all the shit they were bringing to them, and they weren't really sure they wanted to know. All they knew for sure was that being a dirty thief was somehow part of the training. They hated it. But they needed it to survive.

Approaching the bench from the side, Antares' heart was racing. Trying to keep their body language cool--hands in their pockets, pace steady and slow, eyes forward--didn't change the horrible feeling inside them. It never changed, no matter how many times they succeeded stealing something, the pressure was always there. The anxiety never left.

Eyes on one particular bag, they darted forward to grab it, and then took off with it in hand. They wouldn't be looking back.

How about this weather, Portland!  I’ve never run through snow before, so naturally I had to get out there for a few miles and see what it’s all about. I had a blast!  Snow runs can actually be fun…who knew??
