Interesting artistic direction for this new Super Mario Odyssey for the Nintendo Switch. But I like that Nintendo is taking risks with its IPs. Interesting that Nintendo is keen on experimenting with open worlds. Mario Kart in an open world mode would be fantastic!
Just watch. My hunch is that it'll be one of the best Zelda game ever made. Can't wait!

Tesla has announced it has hired Chris Lattner as VP of Autopilot Software. This news came shortly after Lattner said he was leaving Apple, after 11 years of service. Lattner is know for creating Swift, an programming language planned to replace Objective-C. This is an impressive hire for Tesla, one that might attract other engineers wanting to work under Lattner's leadership. More importantly, Lattner's skills should further Tesla's efforts to achieve autonomous driving before its competitors. I only hope Lattner's departure does not mean bad news for Swift development team, as Swift is slowly maturing in order to fully replace Objective-C. Time will tell.

Very interesting video about the future of self-driving cars. It poses more questions than it answers but it’s an excellent thought experiment about what the future of cars could be and what it means for us drivers and society as a whole. Well worth a watch.
The iPhone will turn 10 later this year. But today is the 10th anniversary of the iPhone being unveiled during a Macworld keynote. This iconic keynote is probably one of the best Steve Job ever presented, introducing the now famous "one more thing". Curious to see what kind of new iPhone Apple is planning for this 10th anniversary.

Elon Musk has been trolling on Twitter, first by voicing his frustration with traffic jams and then alluding to some new venture called "boring", as in "boring tunnels". He seems to actually be deadly serious, as we can see from his newly updated Twitter bio. I think it's rather fitting, since his previous idea was to design a new form of vacuum-based transportation called Hyperloop, an idea he gave up on since he didn't have the time (he's already running 2 companies, Tesla and SpaceX). The idea was picked up by other companies though and are now doing some R&D to see if a prototype can be designed and tested. But this new "boring" company might actually tie in nicely with Hyperloop. If Musk does manage to design a machine that can bore tunnels more efficiently than the current technology, Musk might be paving the way for Hyperloop in the future. One thing is sure, Elon Musk likes to tackle complex technological problems.
Super Mario Run came out (late) yesterday. For the occasion, Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of Mario, drew a sketch using an iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil. The video above is a timelapse of him drawing it.
Trump met with several tech CEOs yesterday. I’m sure many journalists would have sold their left kidney to be able to attend and record what’s been said. The photo above is fascinating, not only because many CEOs decided to attend despite being vocal against Trump, but because Trump brought his kids along. Maybe it was Take-your-kid-to-work day?

Growing up, I knew self-service shopping was round the corner. Waiting at a till felt tedious and time-consuming. I'm actually surprised it took that long for a technology such as Amazon Go to emerge. We still need to see if it actually works or if it's going to be a new hipster way to do shoplifting.
The latest Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild trailer is really beautiful, revealing more subtle story elements and showcasing villages and other enemies. I can't wait for this one!
Product Hunt is the site I visit most after Twitter. For obvious reasons, it has become a Silicon Valley darling, being a massive spring board for small budding startups hoping to get spotted by investors. AngelList’s acquisition makes sense in the way that Product Hunt is the de facto place for finding new products, products made by companies listed on AngelList. I’m not sure how both companies will leverage from each other but there are definitely some synergies to be found.
Apple Campus 2 is nearing completion. Hard to get a sense of the scale of the site with these aerial shots but the "spaceship" building seems gigantic. Can't wait to see the finished product.
After a mostly forgettable Cars 2, I'm actually looking forward this third act. Looks like it'll focus again on Lightning McQueen, who seems to be facing a disastrous event, as well as having to compete with an electric car ⚡️
