Little Star leads you Home {Closed, Modern Myth AU}
thefatalmarksmanā:
It had been some time since Luxu had visited this placeāthis place of his Origin, of his Torture, of his Departureāand things certainly have changed. Despite the still-cozy arrangement of the surrounding buildings, the simplicity of their architecture and the ease at which the various citizens made their pace, there are still in the details this sense ofā¦Ā modernity. Sure, technology can be pretty rad and all, but sometimes he canāt help but feel like such a Ye Olde God, internally tsk-tsking at all the cellphones out in the hands of so many of these touristsĀ when they should be making blood sacrifices.
Just kidding!
ā¦Mostly.
However, as Luxu toes his way through the sand, hands in his pockets and his sight cast to the ocean, stretching on and on into the distance, he at least comforts himself with the notion that at least the seaĀ always smells the sameā¦
ā¦And then, abruptly, his senses are piqued at the presence ofāsomething. An aura⦠most definitely familiar.
Detouring onto a cobblestone walkway, he soon approaches a tiny, humble cafeāan outlier abandoned at the edge of the overall bustling cluster of the mainlandāand there, a little red-haired girl, with a modest invitation.
Oh yes, he absolutelyĀ knowsĀ this girlāthe energy she exudes is an old one, nearly as ancient as his ownāand yet he finds, much to his frustrated dismay, that he cannot recognize her True identity.
In the end, he grins, made curious by this new development, and obediently follows.
Kairi smiles super big when the man seems to agree that heāll join them! The little one is more than content to have guests, and usually they tend to find it themselves but something told her that this particular gentleman would need a bit of assistance. The red-head skips along the cobblestone path, little shoes clicking and clacking on the stone below as she hums a tune.
An Old tune, usually thought to be passed down or one lost to time.
She chirps that sheās brought a guest to a woman who stands in the doorway of the cafe and watches them both. Her Grandma is always cautious that she goes too far, does too much, but Kairi always comes home. The cafe is their house, their point of meeting.
Today it is quiet, but theres a little corner chair that rests near the freshly painted walls and has a beautiful view of the town and the harbor. It is here that she invites the new traveler and stranger to sit, a small candle burning in what looks to be a cylindrical candle holder, its outer decoration that of a house hearth.
Huh.
Bright and cheery expression is worn, the little girl smiling up at him and asking if he wants a minute to sit, a menu produced from the opposite chair and slid in front of him on the table, face down in case heās not ready to peruse the simple, classic menu with the occasional tourist favorite.

@bittyheart said this on your post: Local Grandma loves her grandchildren-
Treats? She likes treats! Does she get some too?
š Of course she does, after all sheās technically her grandchild as well.
āI do hope you like brownies.ā
The tiny girl cheers, bouncing on her heels.
āBrownies are yummy! Thank you!ā Sheās so excited for any type of sweet, really.

āHi Grandma!ā
Little Star leads you Home {Closed, Modern Myth AU}
The island was a perfect place to relax and get away from the world. It was picturesque, peaceful--least her living quarters were!!--and she absolutely loved waking up with her grandmother with the local flora around them, the small town life in the span of the community...!!
Which meant that everyone knew everyone, right? Tourists were familiar. Tourists were always guided towards their little cafe overlooking one of those beautiful beaches and the island itself because it was a place to relax and spend some quiet time with local grub.
Hestia was wide awake this morning, as she felt another energy coming in from the pathway below them. She set up her usual arrangements, breakfast menu included....Dressed in traditional dress by her grandmother, she touches the lucky charm around her neck and skips to greet the dark traveler, tilting her head quietly at his hair.
āGood morning..! If you came all this way...were you looking for our home? Youāre welcome to sit and rest, and have some snacks too.ā Playfully smiles, grabbing a handful of flowers to decorate the quietest table, which is where sheād lead him to should he let her.Ā

šMitsuki canāt help but smile at that, after all she adored her granddaughter with every fibre of her being. She hums softly in response to the young girlās words, after all she wasnāt wrong. The ocean brought her many gifts, shells, pretty rocks and sometimes sand dollars. But the most precious gift of all was her darling Pearl.
āOf course my dear. Ā Ā Ā What story would you like to hear?ā
āAny of the stories, Grandma! You tell good stories!ā Kairi chirps, snuggling closer to the elder woman, humming back in kind. It was always wonderful when she could be close with the woman who cared so much for her. Often the ocean brought them gifts that they would sort. Kai always wanted to try to keep them so that they could remember the ocean.
āPlease?ā She asks again with a soft smile, head on the womanās shoulder.

šA soft laugh left the old woman, she caught the young girl in her arms and spun them around. She settled her on her hip gently as she looked at her, booping the end of her nose with a smile on her lips. It was always nice to see her darling little pearl.
āHello my dear~ How sweet of the ocean to bring you to me again.ā
āGrandma!!ā The tiny one runs up to the elderly woman, so familiar and comforting is that embrace! She all but leaps into it, spun around with the peals of laughter escaping her. Settled on the hip, Kairi smiles wide and big at her grandmother before...her nose is booped.
Cue the most adorable sneeze.
āThe ocean always brings things back to you, Grandma!Ā āSpecially me!ā She smiles cheerily, then snuggles close to the woman.Ā āCan we have a snack and a story, please?ā
{Hearts in Gentle Flame: Modern Myth AU}
It is said that Hestiaās fire is a place meant for home. Of comfort and peace, light and laughter.
What all proper homes should be.
How such a goddess came to reside in the young heart of a little girl in Greece, living with her Grandmother...heavens could only tell. The brilliant and warm smile, not to mention friendly demeanor and love to share of stories and snacks, was common with the goddess too.
When Kairi was about to turn four, her grandmother became very sick, and when summer turned to fall her ashes were spread across the water.
Pulled into a childrens home in the heart of the country, the young girl turned her sorrows into a level presence, the goddess awake fully within her, blending withĀ āThe Little Princessā, as the home called her. For she may have been the youngest there upon arrival but within a year the home became a place of light and laughter, stories and hope. Its a joke that there are certain games played, ones that cause strife and misery among the players, that end in peaceful rounds if nestled into her space she calls home.Ā
She hasnāt been adopted yet, but home is where the heart is, and her heart is with those she loves.Ā
I highly recommend following this magical cinnamonĀ roll.
Marluxia shakes his head with a smile. Heās truly enjoying the opportunity to share his knowledge with someone so avidly interested in plants.
āActually, fly traps are not poisonous. But they might cut you if you were unwise enough to prod them. Not to mention that they can only close a certain number of times before they perish. So itās best not to torment them without actually feeding them. It can cause the entire plant to die.ā He grins. āQuite interesting plants, are they not?ā
She has her head tilted, gaze up towards him with rapt curiosity. Plants that could cut? That sounded not quite nice. Definitely not a plant sheād have in her room any time soon. āMhm.Ā āSpecially the partĀ ābout the certainĀ āmount of times. Means they donāt eat like you and me.ā She nods, red strands shifting with the force of motion. She likes learning from her friend, even if its stuff that may go a bit over her head at times. At least, its supposed to, but Mar explains it in a way that makes sense! Its nice!

...He feels like someone she should stay away from. Stares at him from opposite the flower patch.
Thereās a blue-haired woman whose come to visit it seems. Perhaps, if sheās careful...and does this...very slowly... The flower crown floats down from above and lands perfectly on the top of her targetās head. Perfect! Cue cheers from above because of little onesā successes.

Childish peals of laughter rang throughout the walls, tiny feet bursting out onto the outside world and she turns back, calling out-- āCatch me if you caaaaan, Rose!!ā
