Once upon a time I discovered a beautiful place But found out it's only accessible thru imagination I wanted to see it so often So I drew it The end 😂 "Sariling mundo" - colored pencils on paper #coloredpencil
Sugar rush 😳 #starbucksplanner #sugarrush #cantsleep
My wife and I recently celebrated our 5th year wedding anniversary, and we decided to try something new and different together, so we decided to try Cupid’s / Legolas / Hawkeye’s hobby – Archery.
I was initially introduced to this sport (I think so?), by heading out to Alabang Town Center and went into a sports store named Decathlon. I saw that there were Archery equipment in which we would have loved to try, but there were a lot of people trying there archery equipment. We then decided to look for a place in which we can try this sport.
We first headed to DMZ Archery the place is within Visayas Avenue, Quezon City. You would need to have a car to access the place / public commute is not that accessible. The place is inside a subdivision and is sharing a space with a beauty parlor. A perfect opportunity to try Archery while you’re loved one is getting dolled up. I was initially surprised by the number of young folks trying this sport. Was amazed on how beautiful there murals were. The place was small and crammed up though, but our experience was amazing, all thanks to the wonderful coach that taught us the basics. The coach was funny / witty and entertaining which made our experience enjoyable and the mood light. It costs us 200 PHP per head which is inclusive of 1 hour coaching session with use of their equipment.
After having a wonderful experience I decided to take the misses out and try Archery, we were lucky enough to bump into this Archery Range inside a Shopping Mall at SM North Edsa, Annex Building. The Archery Range was called Arrowland by Gandiva. Initial impression showed me how pricy the place was due to the fact that they count the arrows you can shoot, and if you opt in to try the hourly rate, you have to bring your own equipment, which I can’t figure out how you can bring your own bow and arrow inside a shopping mall due to the strict security inside shopping malls in the Philippines now a days. Initial costs for 2 persons were at 475 PHP per for 2 persons and you can shoot 50 arrows divided by 2 persons which includes use of their equipment and a coach. I was then shocked when they asked me that I had to pay for the paper that serves as a target, they charge 40 PHP per paper per person. I guess that’s the price you pay for accessibility.
In summary, I would recommend to going to DMZ Archery for beginners, they’re very hands on and accommodating to their customers plus your initial experience won’t cost that much. For experienced shooters I would recommend heading over to Arrowland by Gandiva due to the accessibility of their branches and you can take your time in shooting arrows and would not need to wait for the class to be filled in before you can start shooting those arrows.

November to Remember – Celebrating Cupid’s Arrow My wife and I recently celebrated our 5th year wedding anniversary, and we decided to try something new and different together, so we decided to try Cupid’s / Legolas / Hawkeye’s hobby - Archery.
I recently celebrated my 35th birthday and decided to treat the entire family to lunch and an experience at Okada Manila a newly opened hotel and casino with various retail establishments.
Upon entrance, you will be greeted by the beauty of a tunnel with a trellis which looks like you’re heading into a vineyard.
The first thing you’ll notice on your right side are there wine selections on your left you’ll see the variety of seafood’s that they serve. You can have the seafood cooked in any way you like. Just remember your table number and give this to chef so that they can serve the cooked food on your table.
When you further venture into the buffet spread, you’ll be awed by the beauty and arrangement of the buffet spread. The buffet space is not cramped unlike other buffets here in Manila. It can fit 4 people walking on the same lane.
Once you traverse into the buffet you’ll be greeted with various types of Sushi and Appetizer’s. The arrangement and decor of the buffet spread was beautiful as you don’t even want to touch it as to its beauty. I had to be talked to by a chef preparing the appetizer to try one out. It’s like a painting that you’d like to take a look at for a long time and just admire it.
Further venturing in, you’ll be able to see there arrangement of deserts, which is another masterpiece. You have to try there cream based strawberry and pistachio treats. It’s unique and one of a kind.
The dishes they serve and on display varies from local (Filipino) dishes, Japanese, Indian, Chinese and Western dishes.
I chose to avail of their buffet during lunch time as the rates were affordable and within our budget.
Buffet Costs and timings:
Lunch time (11:30 AM – 3:00 PM Manila Time)
1,288 php per adult
688 php for children
Dinner (06:00 PM -11:00 PM Manila Time)
1,988 php per adult
988 php for children
They accept senior citizen discount which was quite a surprise. So the payment for senior citizens will help reduce the cost of the buffet.
The buffet rates are acceptable, this is due to their ongoing sale promotion that lasts from September 23, 2017 up to October 31, 2017.
Attire is Casual dress code.
Reservation holding time is 15 minutes. Give them a call if you’re going to be late as they will give your table to walk in guests. I would not recommend heading to this buffet without a reservation.
Now if you ask me why there is a big price difference on their buffet rates it’s probably due to the following:
The hotel has an attraction called dancing fountain which runs from Sunday to Thursday (6:00 PM to 10:00 PM) and Friday to Saturday (6:00 PM to 12:00 AM). More information can be found on their website
We didn’t wait for the fountain show as we finished at 3:00 PM and we were already full and wanted to head home. The staff informed us if we want to have a good view on the water fountain show you have to be there at 5:00 PM to get better seats.
Duration of the buffet / Dinning hours – Lunch is 3:30 hours. Dinner runs for 5 hours.
There contact information is as follows: P: +632 555 5799 E: [email protected] W: http://www.okadamanila.com/dining/medley
So if you want for you and your family or you’re special someone to experience a one of a kind experience. You may want to try there buffet.

Surfing is like a bad break up! Look what’s behind you so you can move forward
I just realized surfing is like having a bad breakup. In order to move forward, you just need to look behind and let that big wave push you forward. Standing up the surfing board was no easy task for a lot and there are those who could get up and balance right away even as beginners. Well, people handle situations differently so we just need to learn it from the waves. There are times when we…

Hey there. Good evening! Today, I’ll talk about other things you can do in Baler aside from surfing. I’m pretty sure not every one who goes there would like to try surfing. It will just hurt a bit to try surfing ha ha “D in such a way that you’re like doing a military push up when you try to stand up on the surf board but anyway, will discuss surfing next time.
For now, here are some things you can do in Baler aside from being at the beach. You can rent a tricycle to give you a tour. By the way, if you plan to go surfing, don’t go hiking at Ermita Hill on the same day. It’s gonna be very tiring.
What me and husband did was to just select a few places to see and you can discuss with the trike driver how much will it cost. We didn’t have much time coz we wanted to learn surfing in the afternoon so off we went on a city tour in the morning until 2pm. We paid the driver P400 to get us to Museo de Baler, Auroa Quezon House, Ermita Hill and the Hanging Bridge. If you want to visit all tourist spots, you will have to pay P500 if I’m not mistaken but that’s what I remember hearing from the trike driver. If you are a group, you may want to inquire at Charlie Does. They have a shuttle and can give you group rate to rent their van. They have a desk at Costa Pacifica Hotel near the front desk.
First stop was at Museo de Baler. This is where you find the town’s history like. Entrance fee is P30 so keep your ticket coz you will need to show it to the lady at Aurora Quezon’s house. P30 ticket is both for the museum and the Aurora Quezon house.
2. Aurora Quezon house – the wife of former President Manuel Quezon, one of the presidents of the Philippines.
3. Baler Church – we did not really get inside so just took a photo of it since there was an ongoing mass that time. This is the church where the last Spanish soldiers stayed for 11 months who stood guard against the Filipino forces. This is located in front of Aurora Quezon’s house so even if we didn’t include this in our list, we still had the chance to see it.
4. Ermita Hill – this is a public park so there is no entrance fee. You just need to enlist your name at the park entrance. This is where people go up if there is a danger of tsunami and flood in Baler. There are viewing decks where you can see the Sabang Beach, popularly known for surfing.
A view of Sabang Beach from Ermita Hill
There is also the highest peak in Ermita Hill. It’s 270 steps going up so you need to bring a face towel and water coz that means it’s also 270 steps going down. We thought there was a viewing deck up there but there was none. We saw a white cross and some wooden benches. It was a tiring climb so if you are not into hiking, you may not want to go up those stairs.
5. The last stop was to see the Hanging Bridge. Nothing really extraordinary but I got a little nervous when I tried to pose there for my photo for less than a minute. I had to run back coz I felt like the bridge was gonna break loose ha ha. I don’t think I can cross to the other side.
You need to go up a few stairs to cross this bridge but you need to be careful when going down coz it’s a little steep.
There are also 3 souvenir shops here and we bought a native bag and a few small items like a ref magnet, etc.
If you are staying at Sabang beach resorts/hotels, you may want to drop by this popular bake shop. It’s Dialyn’s(pronounced as Dayaleen’s). You may ask the tricycle driver to take you there. Try their bacon and cheese bread and if you like, you can bring some on your trip back to Manila if you are taking the bus. It’s non stop so you could get really hungry.
So that’s it! That was our tour in Baler. I’ll post again soon about my experience in surfing. It was really fun! I guess I felt like I lost a few pounds trying to get myself to stand up on the surf board and to balance myself. I’ll share a few tips on how to get on the surfboard even as a beginner with no surfing experience ha ha ha. As if I have the right to discuss about surfing but it’s just a beginner’s tip. Have a good evening!
Things to do in Baler besides surfing Hey there. Good evening! Today, I'll talk about other things you can do in Baler aside from surfing.
Nueva Ecija sceneries
Hello. It’s been quite a while since I last wrote a new photo travel story.
Today, we arrived at Baler. I took a few photos while onboard the Genesis Joy Bus. It was a joy to pass by these mountains, rice fields, rivers and some small houses.
Here are a few which I thought worth sharing with you guys.

An angelic morning skies
An angelic morning skies
The great thing about living in a tropical country is that you get to wake up seeing a beautiful sky adorned with different shapes of clouds as the sun rises. Here’s one I captured today in Quezon City that seems to resemble a glowing angel. I took a video of it and a photo of another angelic shape. I am just grateful to have see beautiful things around me each day.

Across the Philippines
I just thought of compiling a few videos and photos into one to share it here in Byaheng Pilipinas. These were taken from different parts of the Philippines though I was not able to include all places I’ve visited.
These were all taken using a smart phone / tablet so the resolution may not be too good. Please bear with it. I find digital cameras a hassle coz I will need to remove the memory…

“Game of Thrones” Hodor was in Manila – MOA Arena
Hey there. Good Day! Game of Thrones Hodor actor Kristian Nairn was in Manila for the Funko Pop ToyCon 2016 but was also in Manila Major Grand Finals 2016 to hold the door. Yeah, he was there to literally hold the door in Manila Major.

Oysters - cheaper by the basin
Oysters – cheaper by the basin
A basin of oysters is definitely expensive if you are in Metro Manila but not in a place which I recently discovered. Not really me discovering it but my sister and brother in law took me and my hubby to this restaurant that sells a basin of oyster for only P50! We bought it to take it home for my dad’s birthday.
I asked where these oysters come from and they said it’s from Roxas City. I heard…
