i was having a pretty crappy day but u and this message definitely made my day sooo much better so thank u so much for ur kind words and checking in 😭😭 i definitely have high standards for myself and i am constantly not satisfied with my quality of work, but hearing this really makes my heart warm and happy so thank u thank u thank u!!! and i do still come online actually quite frequently, but very briefly… just a quick scroll here and there a couple times a week but i really had zero clue anyone would notice 😭
i know i say this often but i am still writing the fic… a little bit day by day (literally just a few sentences 😅)… the process has just been super slow as ive started a new position at work and have gone through some life changes in the past few months that has made “me” time to just relax and write very seldom… but u have sparked inspiration for me to continue the fic and spend more time on things that make me happy <3

A single opponent remained.
He's a handsome, but peculiar looking man. His features were unique, sporting hair as white as the snow amid the coldest winter and eyes as blue as the deepest parts of the ocean. However, it was rather fitting for someone like him, as for he was in fact no ordinary man, after all.
“So, it’s just you and I once more, isn’t it?”
With a beautiful busty woman latched on one of his arms, a smug, familiar grin spreads across his face, the whites of his teeth peeking through in response. The sunglasses on his nose dip lower, giving the man a clearer view at the opponent across from him.
Truthfully, neither of them was remotely close to ‘ordinary’. There was never a dull moment since he had appeared in your life— but you really couldn’t complain sharing your days with someone like him by your side. Life after all was something you could only experience once, and he made it his mission to give you the world, if not more.
“Indeed, it is. How are you feeling, Kento?”
Nanami Kento was characteristically the definition of cool, calm, and collected. Whether it be work or play, throughout your years of companionship with him it was a rare sight to see him anything but so. He was one to rarely waiver to his emotions, especially when seated at the poker table.
“Couldn’t be better. You know I always find you an exciting opponent, Satoru.” Nanami grins. “You’re fluent in my favourite language after all— money .”
Gojo Satoru was the name of the man sitting across from you, a more than familiar face to both you and Nanami. During the day he was a well-acquainted business partner of Nanami’s, while at night he turned into the opposite, a formidable opponent often seated across the poker table.
“Kento, Kento, Kento— greed is quite the sin, my friend. Isn’t your life already filled with riches? This is after all one hell of a building we’re sitting in.” Gojo clicks his tongue teasingly. Much to the obvious displeasure from the women beside him, his gaze shifts, giving a small wink towards your direction. “But of course, the ones I own are better— just in case that’s something you’re interested in sweetie.”
Your facial features twist into a cringe at Gojo’s words. No matter how much time had passed, you could never get used to Gojo’s remarks, raising a reaction out of you without fail every single time. Your husband on the other hand, the cool, calm, and collected Nanami Kento had quite the opposite reaction.
“What a fool.” Nanami mumbles, just loud enough for only you to hear against your ears. “Thinking such petty things would be enough to win a woman like you over.”
It’s admirable, you think. Nanami protected what belonged to him with his entire being, unafraid to fight for what was his— the undoubtedly most important being you. Yet, he did so in a way that oozed confidence, rarely getting his hands dirty, but instead shifting and moulding the aura around him in a way he wanted it to be.
So, while all you can do is cringe in response, Nanami works faster in getting his message across. Taking a sip of the champagne in his glass, his grip already around your waist becomes just the slightest firmer. The scent of champagne lingers under your nose when you feel his breath loom closer towards you, soon finding familiar warm lips trailing soft kisses on the side of your neck.
It was one more thing you could never really get used to. He was a doting, kind, sweet and loving companion no matter what time and day. But the adrenaline of the combination of high stakes money and you, his wife sitting on his lap accompanying him at the poker table ignited a fire in him, unlocking a hidden side of him— one that made you blush every time.
“Nothing wrong earning some little extra spending money.” Nanami speaks louder, pulling away from your neck and returning them back to the champagne glass once more. “It also just feels so damn good spending money when I know it belongs to you .”
“I wholeheartedly agree.” Gojo chuckles. “May lady luck be on your side.”
The corner of Nanami’s lips curve the slightest upwards, a single action that speaks louder than any words.
“She already is, Satoru.” His grip firms once more, eyes lost deep into yours. “She already is.”

“Now look closely, my darling. This is how we’ll leave even richer than we came in.”
The game goes almost too easy for him. The cards in his hands and the chips stacked on the table were nothing but pawns under his control. They had said the success of gambling was based on not only skill, but pure luck— and it seemed Nanami Kento had an abundance of just those two very things.
“I wish for just a fraction of your confidence, Kento.”
It’s a genuine confession, one you’ve never admitted despite the countless number of times you accompanied him and watched in awe his charismatic ways at the poker table. Nanami glances at you at your revelation, a soft expression replacing the focused demeanour spread across his face at the sight of your affectionate gaze towards him.
“I have no reason to be anything but so, love—I’ll always have something they don’t.”
You stare at him, imaginary question marks flying above your head in curiosity. Nanami chuckles in response, giving you a soft, single kiss on the cheek.
“ You .”
You feel the tips of your ears grow red, a rush of blood formulating at the spot where his lips met. Slightly embarrassed, but more overwhelmingly flattered, you remain silent at a loss for words.
“Money will come and go for any man.” Nanami whispers, leaving another kiss on the lobe of your ear. “But I’ll be the only man that is lucky enough to go home with you every night.”
The woman across the table gives a deliberate audible yawn, accompanied by the sound of a what you can only assume is Gojo letting out an exasperated scoff. But you paid no mind— finding it immensely difficult to even show an ounce of attention to anyone but the man in front of you, fate somehow allowing him to belong all to you.
“God, I love you.”
“As do I, my love”
The palm of Nanami's hands gently glides just underneath the side of your growing red cheeks, urging you in the slightest to face him. As if they've found themselves back into their comforting home, his lips press against yours, the familiar feeling of him brimming you with nothing but butterflies within.
“I’ve been meaning to say, your dress looks so beautiful on you, darling.” He whispers, as soon as he pulls away. “You give me more reasons to love my favourite color.”
You grin against his lips, just a hint of mischievous sprinkled in your eyes.
“Don’t you think it’ll look much better on the bedroom floor?”
“I do think it’ll look much better on the bedroom floor.”
Whether it be intuition or simply just a hunch, you had a strong inclination that his thoughts may perhaps cultivate into reality— sooner, you silently pray, rather than later.

personally music is definitely a big one… a single song can put u into such a mood in imagining the perfect scenario with the perfect person and what other way is there to bring that scenario to life than through words + projecting that on a fictional character i have the basis for, and can mold further however i want?
the second big one for me is just life LOL… i see things sometimes and my mind just wanders and then i go home and write about it c: like seven-three was partially stemmed from me going damn 😳🤪 to a hot office worker irl and my mind went hot office worker 🤝 nanami lemme project my daydream
lastly, sometimes i base it off personal experience and how i WISH somethings went instead of how it actually did in reality LOLOLOLOL…… mostly regarding how i wish men acted when i gave them the chance….. but alas men irl are not #menwrittenbywomen
