Jade has a lot of meanings in Chinese culture, but the main one is protection. It is traditionally believed that jade can ward off evil and repel negativity, which is why it is a popular gift to give to a loved one — someone who you'd want to protect with all your heart.

Niran's jade pendant is shaped like a disc. In Chinese traditions, this means balance which makes sense since being a Wu is all about balancing nature. It also represents eternity, interconnectedness, and completeness. Yet, Niran has been living his life without much purpose and meaning. It was only when he met Pete that his life felt more complete.

So, him giving that treasured necklace to Pete can be interpreted as such – Niran not only wanted to protect Pete but also show that he intends to bless Pete with something long-lasting. I'm just saying, that 'something' might just be love 😊
