What is Natashaâs relationship with Dumplinâ like?
Oh my goodness I have never talked about her and Dumplin have I????
Natasha isn't incredibly moved by babies, however this one does tricks so she's kinda here for it.
Natasha is the chaotic aunt. Like if Dani leaves her baby with her there's a high chance that when she goes to pick up her child Dumplin has a new skill.
For instance, one day she's not able to open jars. One visit with Natasha she now opens every jar in the house.
One day their custom crib with nets up to keep Dumplin inside is enough to contain her, one day with Natasha and now she's a whole escape artist.
Like??? After a certain point Dani's like aight Natasha you making my life hard.
Honestly, Natasha hits her stride with Dumplin as soon as she can talk. That's the money maker.
Peter walks in and finds Natasha talking to Dumpling like, "You never let a man cross you twice. You are young one time will happen but you cut him at the knee so he will not cross anywhere else again. When you get older we'll talk about preventative measures. "
Do not let Auntie Tash find out that somebody's raggedy child has been bothering her baby. She will punt that kid and fight both of their parents.
Low key, if Nat asks to watch Dumplin, Dani immediately calls up another parent to supervise... preferably Sam.

I think the beginning was my favorite to write not just because Dani was hilarious to write but because Peter is just like alright I gotta grovel.
A/N: Something light and fun, hopping into college life with these two.
Peter opened the door to Dani's apartment. He tried to ease the door closed quietly and lock it. He hoped Dani was asleep already. He was over much later than he anticipated and at this point, it was probably for the best that sheâd gone to sleep to be ready for class tomorrow. The bottom floor of the apartment was relatively dark, but the loft upstairs had colored lighting that Dani often left on when she was waiting for him. The lights were changing color slowly, fading from pink to violet to blue, continuing on down the rainbow. It was pretty quiet, so he was beginning to think that she was fast asleep and he could postpone the stern talking-to he was sure to get for coming into her apartment in the middle of the night. Granted, that was what she gave him a key for. He made it one step before music started playing. He sighed heavily listening to the beginning of the song. Most of the time it was great fun to have a dramatic girlfriend. Lately, it was⊠less fun.Â
"You know I hate sleeping alone. But you said that you would soon be home. But baby that was a long time ago. I'm not feeling it. I'm not feeling it." He knew the voice if not the song. It was definitely Beyonce though. He supposed it could be worse, all things considered. After all, it could have been a track from Lemonade. With that in mind if he had to guess how upset Dani was he might estimate a solid 6.5 on a scale of 10. He let out the breath he was holding when he was sneaking in. He did promise Dani to be over hours prior. He sighed, taking off his shoes before he continued in towards the stairs to her lofted bedroom.
"I'm sorry. I had to-" Peter began but the music got louder. When he was high enough on the staircase to see her he noticed she was sitting in the middle of the bed glaring right at him. She was wearing a big shirt, her arms were crossed in front of her chest, and her hair was wrapped for bed. He let his head lull back in exasperation.Â
"Was I supposed to just allow a robbery to happen because I said I would be over?"
"Am I a joke to you, Peter Parker?â she asked seriously.Â
âNo, youâre not a joke. I was just busy with-â
âThen if Iâm not the joke, is there a circus in town that youâre looking to join? Because this is clownery. Itâs foolishness.â
âDani-â
âNo, donât âDaniâ me. You told me you were on your way here at ten, Peter. It is nearly 3 AM. I thought you died.â
âThere was a robbery-â
âYou couldnât shoot me a text? Peter, I know how the AI in your suit works. You could have told me and I wouldnât be here worried that you died.â
âIâm sorry.â
âIâm not done arguing yet,â she snapped at him, because he was giving in far too easily, and there were more things she wanted to say, âIâm not saying donât save people. Iâm saying, donât have me waiting on you. Donât lie to me. I set time aside. I cancelled plans. I wasted time waxing. Donât look intrigued by me waxing. Me and my kitty kat are mad at you.âÂ
Peter took a deep breath, there wasnât space in the breath she took for him to unpack any of that. Dani was on a roll and like it or not he would just have to sit through it until she decided she was done talking.Â
âAnd I made food for you! Which was miles better when it was warm! Itâs not going to reheat well. I did all of that because you told me you were on your way. Which was a lie. Youâre lying to me. You know I hate it when you lie to me.âÂ
âI thought I was on my way.â
âWell when you knew you werenât then you should have told me so that I wouldnât put in all this effort for you not to show up. I would have taken my cute little ass to sleep.â She finished with a pout which was a pretty good indication that she was done talking.Â
âCan I apologize now?â he asked cautiously.Â
Dani narrowed her eyes at him, âYouâve already apologized. You can beg me for forgiveness and I can consider it.âÂ
"Fine."
Dani watched Peter come over to her side of the bed. Mostly she was upset because she was worried. Nothing good came from 4 hours of radio silence when he was allegedly headed to her place. Now that she knew he was absolutely fine she was mad she had to deal with double her normal amounts of anxiety over him. She watched him ever so dramatically get on his knees.Â
"Dani," he began.
"I'm listening."
"Please, please forgive me."
"Dry as hell. That was dry as hell."
"Yeah, it felt off when I said it," he agreed," lemme try again. "
"Mmhm, run it from the top," she pressed her lips together so she wouldn't smile.
He cleared his throat to begin again more dramatically, "My life isn't worth living if I have to live with you angry at me. From now on I will program a 15 minute GPS update to be sent to your phone while I'm out."
"As you should," she smiled in spite of herself.
"Am I forgiven?" He smiled too.
"Whatever, Peter," she sighed flippantly.
"No, not whatever," he stood up to his full height again putting his hands on the bed to lean in and kiss her face, "I want to hear that I'm forgiven."
"And I want you to stop coming into my home at odd hours of the night. What we gon do to make that happen, Peter?"
"I'll come through the window."
She rolled her eyes but grabbed the collar of his hoodie to pull him in for a kiss, "I can't stand you," she murmured before kissing him. Kissing Peter still gave her butterflies and despite her earlier assertion that he wasn't allowed to touch her she was suddenly very interested in him touching her.Â
"You smell like outside. Go shower, Spider-Menace," she pushed him back upright. He gave her the same dopey lovesick smile he'd been giving her since they were kids before turning to go downstairs and do as she said.
"Love you, Dani," he called over his shoulder.
"Yeah yeah." She grumbled getting under the covers to settle into bed. Little did she know, Peter did intend to actually make it up to her.Â
Dani started her mornings much earlier than him. She woke up at 7, which was later than her usual 4AM wake time thanks to Peter's late night, got ready for her day, made breakfast, pretended that she made extra on accident for him to have after she was gone. She had an 8 AM class, something Peter could not fathom but 8 wasn't early to her he supposed. Nevertheless, he woke up at 11 for his 11:30 and set about making it up to Dani that she was probably a little sleepy and crabby. Caffeine didn't do much for her but there were fun coffee drinks that she liked and pastries that she enjoyed. During lunch on Wednesdays she was usually volunteering in the diversity center. So he popped in to deliver an iced caramel macchiato with oat milk and honey and a few pastries to the office. When he walked in he didn't see Dani immediately but he was definitely noticed.Â
"Hey," a young woman greeted, looking him over carefully, "Can I help you with anything?"
"I'm looking for my girlfriend, Dani. She's tall, pretty sure she has light pink hair today. Have you seen her?"
"Dani with the fat ass?"
Peter sputtered, feeling himself blush, "I mean⊠yeah-"
"Dani with the wagon, with the dump truck? And the tetas to match?"
"Bianca!" Dani called, coming from one of the adjoining rooms in the office, "You play too goddamn much!"
Peter sighed a sound of relief to know that Dani was obviously friends with this girl. Bianca threw her head back laughing as Dani crossed the office to go over to Peter.Â
"Your man was being vague. Like everybody don't know you from your ass alone. All he had to say is Dani with the body. Dani with the ass that won't quit."
"He's a respectful young man," Dani threw back, "and he don't expect everyone to be a pervert like you, B."
"Stop acting like your man isn't a snowbunny. He knows what your identifiers are."
"He's not a snowbunny," Dani argued.Â
"What is going on here?" Peter asked passing off the coffee and bag of pastries to her.Â
"Thank you, baby," she kissed his cheek, "Please don't pay any attention to her."
"I know a snowbunny when I see one," Bianca asserted then turned to Peter.
"He just has great taste."
"Oh it's a pReFEreNce!" Bianca mocked.
"I'm sorry, Pete. This is really Ned's fault. I was face timing him earlier and he let it slip that he's never seen you thirst over a white woman. And I said that was ridiculous, you must have."
Peter frowned for multiple reasons. One, he tried to facetime Ned earlier and he didn't answer, two he was beginning to realize that maybe Ned was right. The second reason made him think a little harder because surely there had to be someone.
"Pete, you've had crushes on non black women." Dani said unsteadily.Â
"Yes," he answered confidently.Â
Bianca smiled, "But white women specifically?"
"Do celebrity crushes count?" Peter winced.Â
Bianca's grin grew even wider, "Depends. Who is it?"
"I had a huge crush on Fran Drescher growing up."
Bianca nodded, barely containing her giggles.
"Oh my god, Ned was right. You really are the black woman's whore," Dani gasped.Â
"Alright, I bring you coffee and treats and you call me a whore," he laughed, "Dani, it's a coincidence. I just like beautiful people, it just so happens that a lot of the women I find most beautiful are black."
"I like him," Bianca finished, "We love a white boy with taste. You got friends with taste, Peter?"
"Leave him alone, B. You've got him all red now."
Bianca giggled, turning back to her laptop.
"Did you call Ned or did Ned call you?"
"Ned called me," Dani asked, leading Peter over to one of the couches.
"He literally wouldn't answer my call earlier."
"Yeah he said you left him on read for 48 hours so he's letting you feel the neglect." Dani answered.
"For how long?"
"He says 72 hours. If you text him tonight he'll respond. We both know he can't hold a grudge."
"You're right." Peter felt a little better considering that. He was about to say that he was having a hard time getting his feet under him in college but someone opened the office doors hard.
"Hello fellow negroes!" They greeted and then paused seeing Peter, "Not you."
Dani hung her head a little, "Chuma you know not only black people are in here. Ramya is in the back."
"Ramya know what's good. Who is this?"
"This is Peter."
"Cool, I'm Chuma. The diversity center is here to uplift the voices of minorities on campus-"
"Peter as in my boyfriend," Dani interrupted him, "he's here to see me not to colonize the Diversity Center, relax."
"I'm just dropping off coffee." Peter said awkwardly, standing from the couch. "I actually have to go to get to my next class on time."
"Okay, I'll see you later," Dani looked up at him expectantly and he leaned down and gave her a quick peck before going for the door, waving to everyone. The center was quiet for a second and then Bianca spoke.Â
"So that's Peter. He's cute,â Bianca grinned. Dani narrowed her eyes at her trying to see if she was being shady. She liked Bianca but she was a new friend. Therefore she didnât have the best read on her yet.
Bianca seemed to sense Daniâs suspicions, âDeadass, he cute. When you said you was dating a white boy, I thought it was gone be some big brocky dude wit a fade or sumn. But this is cool. Giving very much, respectable young man. We love to see it.â
Ramya peeked out from the back, âHe is really cute.â
âYou werenât even out here,â Chuma responded.Â
âWe have a calculus class together and we sit next to each other. It took him all of 5 minutes to mention Dani. It was adorable,â Ramya sat on the front desk beside Bianca.
âStop, not the first five minutes,â Dani laughed.Â
âMmhm, I asked about his necklace. Wondering why he had a âDâ if his name is Peter Parker. And lo and behold you two have matching necklaces.âÂ
Bianca gasped looking over at Dani, âNo!â
âYeah,â Dani pulled the necklace forward out of her shirt.Â
âThatâs lame as shit. You let a white man put his initial on you,â Chuma asked.Â
Dani glared at him, âFuck off,â she said to him before turning to pointedly talk to the girls, âIt was for our second anniversary. Our promise rings are for our first.â She held up her hand to show off the silver band.Â
âStop, that is too cute,â Ramya gushed.
âOkay,â Bianca cheered, âWe love a wholesome chocolate vanilla swirl. Secure ya lil snow bunny, girl. Whatâs he majoring in?â
âHeâs a Chem major, but Iâm sure before long heâs going to pick up engineering because heâs a glutton for punishment,â Dani said, a little resigned because he was already talking about it and she knew it was just going to make him more stressed than necessary.Â
âOooo STEM, so youâre playing the long game,â Bianca nodded, âget that good science money.âÂ
âMoney is not an object for me⊠but it doesnât hurt.âÂ
âWhat do your parents do?â Chuma asked her.Â
âOh⊠they um work in the government,â she said flippantly. Itâs not that she was ashamed of her parents, far from it actually. She just didnât want everyone to know that her family was entirely composed of the Avengers. People had varying opinions of her parents, and she didnât really want people to know she was a super soldier. They would undoubtedly treat her differently. It was nice to just be Dani, not Captain Americaâs adopted daughter.Â
âWhat do they do in the government?â
âThey mind their business, damn. Why do you want to know?â Dani asked.
The guy put up his hands in surrender, âIâm just tryna get to know you. Damn, you mean.â
âYou donât need to get to know me. Ainât nothing about me to know. What you need to know is how the hell you gon pray yoâ way into a beard that connects.â
Bianca and Ramya screamed, twin sounds of incredulous laughter. It was an off day if Dani wasnât hurting some manâs feelings in the Diversity Center, just because they liked to get overly familiar. Itâs not like her attitude and sharp words dissuaded them. They were willing to overlook a lot of things because of how attractive they found her. Chuma simply ran his hand down his face and looked exasperated.Â
âWhy you always doing me like this?â he complained.Â
âBecause you are always in my business! Go find some of your own to be in! Damn!â
Bianca and Ramya were still laughing and Chuma looked over at the two of them. Ramya had one hand over her mouth as she laughed, but Biancaâs laughter was loud and cackling.Â
âYou got ya lil friends over here hyping you up-â
âBoy,â Dani rolled her eyes, âDonât get your feelings hurt. Anyway, Bianca, Peter does have a new friend that I think youâd like. He is not white, which I know is a plus for you, and Peterâs friends are top tier. He canât tolerate jerks. Iâm telling you right now, if you ever wanna see if a dude you like is worth the trouble, put him in a room with Peter heâll have a solid yes or no in less than an hour. Itâs uncanny.âÂ
âRight, but do he like black girls?â
âLook me in my fucking eyes, Bianca. Donât you ever in your goddamn life ask if some dude like black girls. We donât give a fuck what these men like! They eat whatâs served or starve. Donât you ever say no embarrassing shit like that. Especially not with Chumaâs ass around.âÂ
With his spirits, sufficiently dampened Chuma moved on to sit at one of the tables deeper in the Diversity Center. Dani spent her time drinking her coffee and snacking while she caught up with the girls. Ramya was extremely sweet and a quick favorite of Daniâs. She was a computer science major though, so she was usually super busy and used the Diversity Center for a place to study because there were prayer rooms close by. Dani and Bianca met Freshman week. They became quick friends when they sat beside each other during a lecture on campus safety. Bianca mumbled something snide in Spanish and Dani responded with something equally snarky about the lecture. Dani found that speaking in peopleâs mother tongue was actually a really easy and fun way to make friends in college. It was one of her favorite things to do, simply because it made lots of people so immediately happy. The way she understood it is, America was a place that you could easily get exhausted of hearing the English language, and the attitude toward people for whom English was a secondary language was awful. Besides, her therapist encouraged her to find a way to use the techniques she learned from HYDRA, and from the Avengers in social ways to change her relationship with them. Being polyglot was the result of being harshly trained for years, but now it was something that could make people gasp and gush to her excited to hear their own language on campus.Â
After leaving the Diversity Center Dani went for another chunk of classes before going to Stark Tower. It was a habit she formed while Thor was still on world. He was gone at the moment, but it didnât really matter because she was really there to see Bruce. However when she walked into the lab that Bruce was usually in, there was no Bruce and just Tony working on something that looked like it could probably kill a lot of people.
âHey, Stark? If thatâs anything other than some kind of clean energy thing, Iâm gonna call Peter right now,â Dani called out to him in a pleasant tone with her phone in hand.Â
Tony looked up to see her standing there with wide eyes and a slightly horrified smile, âI thought youâd handle me yourself,â he said ruefully.Â
âNo, Iâm retired from cleaning up your messes,â she shook her head, âSo is that harmless or are you about to get your ass beat by Spider-Man?â
Tony grabbed a rag from his workbench and wiped off his hands as he explained, âItâs clean energy. Itâs a uh, piece of the engine for a new cooling system for a smaller reactor in the building. Itâs a complete failure, butâŠâ he sighed.Â
Dani narrowed her eyes at him. Her lashes made her eyes look almost closed. She came closer to inspect the metal carefully, before she bumped the table really hard. He gave her a confused look.Â
âAlright, I believe you. You would have freaked out if it was dangerous. Whereâs Banner?âÂ
â... If it was a bomb-â
âThen you were going to die in the fiery blaze, Stark. Answer my question. Whereâs your lab boyfriend?â
âMy what?â
âYou know who he is to you,â Dani rolled her eyes, âWhereâs my favorite middle aged genius?âÂ
âHe stepped out a few minutes ago to get food.âÂ
Daniâs jaw dropped, âHeâs getting food?!â she unlocked her phone and started typing extremely fast, âYou think you know a guy and then he just switches up on you like-â
The lab door opened and both Tony and Dani turned to see Bruce come in with a grease stained paper bag, and drink carrier.Â
âOh, hey, Dani. I was hoping Iâd beat you. I got a milkshake for you. You like strawberries, right.âÂ
âSee, I knew you wouldnât betray me. Dr. Banner, this is why youâre my favorite.âÂ
âRiiight, itâs not the free weed,â he smiled, holding out the drink carrier so that she could grab the pink milkshake. Tony looked between the two of them incredulously. Granted, he was well aware that most, if not all of the team really liked Dani, but Bruce wasnât particularly fond of many of the Avengers. He seemed to have a good working relationship with Valkyrie and Thor, and Tony was pretty sure Bruce liked him, but sometimes he wasnât sure.Â
âItâs not. Itâs not,â you assured him, âYouâre pretty neat all on your ownâŠâÂ
âUh huh,â he said in disbelief, going over to the desk he frequented most often and taking a key out of his pocket.Â
Tony went back to tinkering with the machinery in front of him, thinking about the way that Dani was so sure Peter would come in and beat his ass on demand. The longer he thought about it, the more plausible it seemed that Peter would come if she called and fight him. Their last interaction was less than friendly.Â
âHowâs Peter?â Tony asked, not looking up from his work.Â
âUm⊠what do you mean?âÂ
âIt was a simple question,â Tony sighed.Â
âNo, because if youâre asking whether or not he still canât stand you the answer is yes. If you want to know how heâs doing in college for some reason, the answer is fine and even if he wasnât doing fine I probably wouldnât tell you.âÂ
He wasnât sure which one he was asking but now that he had both answers he didnât really know what to say, âSo heâs Captain Americaâs new project?â
âOh go suck a dick, Stark,â Dani snapped, âYour feelings are hurt because Peter doesnât want anything to do with you. Oh well. The honest to God truth is, Dad has taught Peter more about being the hero he wants to be in a few months than you did in years! Now I know thatâs because my Dad is a good fighter and a better strategist, but it might also be because you never really understood Peter. Youâve never been poor. The way you act is why you constantly need new botox injections. God donât like ugly.â She pointed a perfectly manicured finger at him before turning with a poignant flip of her hair to leave.Â
When she came back home she noticed that Peterâs backpack and shoes were near the front door which meant that he was already there. She called out to him as she took off her shoes and shrugged her bookbag off of her shoulders. There wasnât much space to search so when she didnât see him in the kitchen or the on the couch she went upstairs to the bedroom. Sure enough, he was laying in middle of her bed on his stomach.Â
âNot this boy laid out in my bed,â she grumbled to herself, though she didnât really mind. Peter and his roommate⊠were not compatible. He only took naps here when his roommate was doing something loud and obnoxious like screaming at the T.V. while he watched sports or played video games. Since it wasnât quiet hours yet, itâs not like Peter had much ground to stand on with telling him to stop. Dani suggested beating his ass, but Peter wasnât naturally confrontational. She didnât push the issue. It was nice to see Peter sleeping peacefully. He needed the rest, and if he was in her bed, asleep, then he wasnât off doing something that could get him killed.Â
She got into something she could comfortably lounge in before crawling in bed and lying right on top of him. He made a small sleepy sound as Dani put her cheek on top of his. She turned and kissed his cheek and that was enough to pull him out of sleep just a little bit more.Â
âYou smell nice,â he mumbled.Â
âMmhm,â she agreed, âhow was class?âÂ
âIt was class,â he answered, disinterested, âYou?âÂ
âSame. Am I crushing you?âÂ
âYeah, but I like it.â
She let a beat of silence pass before she said anything else, âHey, booby?â she called.Â
âHm?â
âI love you,â she kissed his cheek.
âMe too.âÂ
âYouâre so fucking annoying,â she laughed.Â
He laughed sleepily, âI love you too.âÂ
(I really agonized over this for months, trying to decide if I wanted a serious plot and honestly... I just wanted fluff. I just wanted to intro their life and a few new characters this go round. Next round of things in their life will also be a little fluffy. Ease into their next arc)

Thor and his army of children still bring me immense joy.
Like just a bunch of little black children being fawned over, and connected with, having a big healthy family where they heard, and they learn how to listen to one another.
They have the benefit of coming back home to some place soft when the world is harsh. They can go be in their mom's arms, or their father's and feel the same amount of ease and comfort with either parents.
They do know which parent to go to for certain crises though. Dad is probably better for physical emergencies, things that are dangerous, but he's also going to be the best person to talk to about how it feels to be different from everyone else on earth. To deal with the alienation they might feel.
Mom is good for practical emergencies, adult skills, middle of the night breakdowns over mundane human stuff, but also if they just want some place to rest, to still be babied a little even when they are grown ass adults.
Iâm missing my faves Dani and Peter rn đ„ș thinking about bingeing their entire lives together as a treat
What's funny is I've been working on a college piece for them, but it has very little plot.
Like, they are so cute, and I have a second arc planned for those two but motivation to write, and wondering at whether the audience for it even exists has made me sort of put that story on the back burner.

I just imagine Thorâs kids (esp as little babies) fell asleep to lots of thunder and rain sounds. I think each of the children have a love for rain and thunder. It's more so a thing when he's away for whatever reason. In order to put the kids to sleep, wifey will play rain and thunderstorm sounds.
Alternatively, they get really excited when it rains because that means dad is coming home. The older they get they learn to differentiate between dad's storms and just the weather.
But it's still sweet to see the babies dancing in front of the storm door while it rains with one of Dad's storms and they can see him walking down the drive. Mom won't let them run out into the rain because she's not about to have them messing up her floors.
