Following that post about gender and nonhumanity: being a lion is so important to my transmasculinity. I keep forgetting to touch on this.
When coming out to friends, I symbolized my transness with lions. I've always likened my gender and presentation to not only male lions but also maned lionesses. Sometimes, I even characterize my lion animality through that of a maned lioness; my masculinity is the forefront of my identity, but it cannot be placed within the social categories of "man" and "woman". Instead, those categories are chopped and screwed because of beasts like me.
I made a post on Reddit about this some time ago, but I want to talk about it again. I'm pretty sure I'm only transgender because I'm transspecies. My manhood isn't based on human masculinity, but actually in being a male deer. My gender dysphoria is non-existent, everything I feel is species dysphoria with a touch of gender non conformative. The closest I can get to becoming an elk is to transition into a man.
So I looked this up and there's three things I think should be mentioned:

So basically we thought hydrothermal vents were these distant isolated islands of weird habitat and everything dependent on them was always either unique to that one vent or had to send eggs and larvae drifting out into the sea until those find a vent.
And that's likely the case for many species, yes, but apparently there's also just vast interconnected networks of toxic bathwater between vents and that's just what we know from the tiny sliver of one that we got to peek in on. There's probably much more to it we may never be able to see, and probably many many undiscovered species that spend their entire life cycles down there.
Up here on the surface there's caves full of weird creatures isolated for millions of years....what the fuck could there be UNDER the fucking FLOOR of the ABYSS that we'll never know.
What if there's like one single little species of trilobite that's still around but that's the kind of place where it is. 😡
My tracking collar! This was a late Christmas present from my mate I received a few weeks ago.
I'm ecstatic to finally have my own tracking collar, I have envisioned myself in one pretty much since I discovered my coyote type some number of years ago. Most of the art I draw depicting my coyote-self features me wearing a tracking collar. To have it finally be a real item that I can see and feel the weight of around my neck is very euphoric. rrrf!
