Nari's Intro

I am Nari, or Shadowfoxink, the host of a traumagenic system with 40+ members.

I am still a minor - mind your own dni.

I've been part of the Otherkin community since 2019, at first only in Forums, Whatsapp groups, and small discord servers. I wasn't on Tumblr until 2025.

I will post about the topic of Alterhumanity, personal and in general.

I think it's unfair to say that Therians on tiktok are all uneducated.

I've noticed a shift in comments under my educational posts. Less misinformed beings, less "no ur wrong Therianthropy means you have an animal past life." If someone does comment that, on tiktok or YouTube, you'll have two people correcting them before I even see it.

The caricature of the "Tiktok Therian" is just stereotypes atp.

You cannot change the definition of physical nonhuman to fit you while also pushing us out of our own spaces and communities. Physical nonhumans have always been a thing, clinical zooanthropes aren't new. Stop changing the definition of terms you have no right using.

We aren't invalidating your identity for trying to protect our spaces from the folks who have driven us out of so many communities. If you don't understand our history or the terms then don't fucking use them, don't take away some of the few spaces we have left.

If you are questioning we will welcome you with open arms, but if you come here to sanitize our community then you are not welcome here.

Hot take but system accountability only applies to my account and what other alters do with it, not other alters and their accounts.

What a headmate of mine posts on Tumblr, TikTok, or sends in a discord channel with their own account, which I don't even have the password to is their responsibility not mine. There is absolutely nothing I can do about it, and to be fair - I don't want to.

They're individuals who deserve to make their own mistakes.

Things I will buy when I move out which relate to my Alterhumanity

- "wipe your paws"- doormat (probably the first thing. I have paws! It's a need.)

- pup hood (hyena mask that's easy to clean? Sign me up! Bet I could swim with that)

- A tank set up and a Betta fish (it's my hearttype, Betta will most likely be a rescue if I find one)

”You don’t need gear to be alterhuman, you don’t need to do quads to be alterhuman” all very true but what about you don’t need shifts to be alterhuman? What about you don’t need to be a factual thing to be alterhuman? What about you don’t need to be a fictional character and that factkins do, in fact, exist? What about delirious therianthropy? What about cladotherians, holotheres, otherpaws, copinglinks? What about alterhuman systems? What about the alterhumans whose experience of alterhumanity is a strong connection, not an identity? At what point does our identity stop being palatable to our own community?

You don't need to have a specific identity to be Alterhuman. You don't have to be a specific thing. You can be a Therian without being a specific animal or having a specific theriotype.

There's this lapse in therian, transspecies, and other animal(-istic) oriented spaces (even in the furry community where it's largely roleplay and rarely anyone identifies with or as a nonhuman) where one will "stay in their species" and refuse to venture outside of it.

Nonhumanity, beasthood, whatever term fits best for you as the reader, hinges on the idea that biology doesn't determine species, that species is a construct to justify one's separation and abuse from the Earth and all that inhabits it, that it and other classifications are fluid in that sense and can get ever more so. It's based in the idea that parts of an identity can "contradict" each other.

So why is it that these communities will often 'pick' one species and limit themselves to it? Why is it that every other post there's someone confused over phantom/physical wing shifts when their species doesn't have it? Why is it that non-amphibians geek out over how cool it would be to have gills, only to frame it as 'silly' because their -type doesn't posses them?

You can be physically a wolf and mentally a beetle. You can be a biological shark with a dove's wings. You can be a robot with organic fins. The fursona you use doesn't have to be 'realistic' 'unique' 'aesthetically pleasing' or 'symbolic', it can be anything you like. The gear that gives you euphoria doesn't have to be of your species. You can work towards gaining gills as an otter because you'd find them useful.

Mixing and matching your physical, mental, and spiritual components is okay. Redefine how you view species. Redefine how you view yourself as inhuman.
