I thought it was funny. A little pathetic an hypocritical considering the kind of person bill is, but pretty funny!

Satanist, mostly adheres to LaVey Satanism... but maybe he could try to do some occult rituals, but she always fails (loser girl, lol)
I don't think she has some extra differences from OG Jane, including the fact, that she steals Dave's clothes sometimes. Dave also do the same thing, so they're quarrel a lot.

Dolts Of The Damned (DOTD) - is an TEC AU in which all the members of their "club" are big stupid fans of all kinds of rock and punk/grunge culture. They're also not a "club of interest" they are more like a musical group... though they rarely write their own music and mostly sing some shitty covers, discuss rare demo versions of songs and "posers".
All members want to be like their idols, "original creators" and be better than some "fake-ass punks"

Leader of the band, guitarist, songwriter.
Hate newbies, hate posers, think he is a smarty one in a punk culture/fandome. If he thinks that someone is a poser, he will attack them with questions like "Name 5 (any band) songs!", "Do you know a discography of this band?", "Name the original members of this band!" and etc.
Dave knows everything about guitars... although he just pretends to know. Of course he would tell u about some facts or differents, but their not that deep.
Mostly his interest of punk culture is related to punk fashion and he trying to follow all the cannons of it. Totally in love with Vivienne Westwood's work (he wants to be like her or make same cool shit). So... Yeah, he will be like.. a fashion police for some "posers" too, lol.
Sexist, doesn't perceive womans as a part of punk-rock fanbase. Mostly cuz of his thoughts that they just like to jerk off to "good looking" musicians.

John love some old bands and hate the new one. Speaks about popular groups/songs as a "pop" and lame shit (even if they're still good). Dave and Jimmy jokes abt it. They saying "Bro, are u even like music?" when John once again spoke negative shit about "new poser band".
If u ask him about DOTD he would probably say, that he hate their band too. However he's still in it and behaves more responsible than Dave.
Love listen/play some aggressive, loud music cuz they're reflect his repressed feelings.

GG Allin fan. Thinks that punk culture should be dangerous, risky, threatening. Use punk style/music and some movements as an excuse of his actions and behaviour. In some arguments he try to use any chance to fight with somebody. Possibly romanticizes violence and fights, perceiving them as "the real taste of life" due to the sense of risk. He has a toxic masculine which is also the reason for his fucked up behaviour.
Love hardcore, shock rock, just loud shit. When he sing he's always scream (he is a bad singer but still in band, lol).
Jimmy adheres to satanism, but secretly he is such a poser in it. He just use it to be cool and "dangerous", but don't know anything about this religion/worldview.
Also sexist, but most of the time just s3xual1se and objectifies womans (especially asians, cuz of the dirty content and stereotypes about them).

Melancholic, clumsy and awkward. Trying to be "mysterious", but he does it very cringy.
Well-mannered than others, however he could condemn some nirvana "posers".
Big fan of Nirvana and Kurt Cobain. May react violently to "posers" due to a strong emotional attachment to Nirvana. If someone said "I love "Smells like teen spirit!" or "Beans is the best Nirvana song." the next 8 hours will be spent on lectures about Nirvana, why everyone should hate SLTS and the division between the work of Nirvana and Kurt Cobain.
He's kinda superstitious person, mostly cuz of his religious parents. Also don't really like mention of religion in media or in talk. Jimmy love to scare him with some "funny" ideas like "We all gonna be in hell!" or "Hey, u looked at nude pic! Now your godly god gonna send u in hell, Scotty!!!"

They actually weren't infected and exploited the current apocalypse by wreaking anarchy and all that. They're like those survivors that cause more harm than the actual undead. But, their van does flip and they die, so they're not much of an issue. I did play with the idea if this was a video game then they'd be a secret boss battle with pieces of the wrecked van repurposed as jumbled concoctions of body modifications and weapons. It'd be a very heavy metal/scifi-ish/bodyhorror/junkyard look.

The way the mold influences the brain is it creates severe brain fog and cuts off/suppresses certain "emotions" while amplifying the ones that increase survivability and drive . Something like sadness and guilt, they almost completely lack; but fear, anger, and excitement are amped up. There's also the painful anguish or never ending hunger and being dead, which I based off of Return of the Living Dead because that was always so haunting to me. Jerry's basically been starving himself on the brink of true death this entire time by eating only animals. Because of that, even though he has emotions suppressed because of the infection, the other emotions he has left are also nulled from his body running on autopilot. He has nothing but scrambled memories of how things used to feel and a honor code to the whimsy of fantasy.
Pete did fully embrace his new way of life because it was the excitement of killing like in horror movies without any guilt or punishment. However, he still had some semblance of reasoning and remembered his old life enough that he did teeter on "this feels wrong even though I don't feel bad" because of the conditioning they had their entire human lives, which is basically what Josh's current state is like, that is until Pete lost chunks of brain from that shot through his skull. Since then he's lost his self awareness and has been swept up in what he feels like doing in the moment, letting his emotions and instinct take full control. The only thing that holds him back is Bill directing him what to do and his own ego to walk slow because fast moving zombies are dumb.
Bill is fully self aware and is cognitive enough to speak to humans, sort of can drive a vehicle, and could use weapons like guns and etc, so if you actually were to sit alone in a room with him and try to talk he would sit there and talk back if you don't piss him off. If he's riled up enough he will act out of emotion before thought, like he did when he attacked all of his ex-friends. What's scary about Bill is even though it seems like he's still got humanity, when he looks at you, all he sees is basically a talking hamburger. And you are right, the whole reason Bill is even trying to get from San Francisco back to Eltingville is entirely self serving. Now that he's had his fun spent, he just wants to go home.
Are any of them redeemable though? Personally, I think none of them are because they're basically already dead and there's no going back. If you wanted to recreate Shawn of the Dead and keep one of them on a chain to play video games with, then Jerry is the best option but it'd be more humane to let him die for good and not be in a constant state of suspended death and agony.
does zombie Josh and the gang like to ever re-enact zombie media and rp? Like say, the Thriller music video or a scene from Twd dead? Or maybe laying down pretending to be dead and popping up to attack like in bioshock? (not zombie media but just a thought)
Closest thing would be Pete and Jerry. Josh may perk up if he hears something he recognizes, but besides that all he would do is complain about Bill bringing an apocalypse that cancelled a lot of movies and comics he was interested in watching and reading.
Pete's subconsciously theatric. He may walk slowly when he's being watched to keep up slow-moving zombie appearances, but when he's out of sight he'll sprint at full speed and go back to walking when knows he's being looked at.
Jerry had a "forest king" persona which isn't based off any specific character or franchise, but he insists on keeping his vines and leaves because of it. He's like an ent, shambling mound, carnivorous moss-beast, what have you.

if Jerry were to see Mandi again, he'd remember enough to know he should make an effort to not bring harm to her/ wouldn't let any of the other three bring harm to her, but he'd continue staying as far away as possible if they crossed paths.
IF he left the group, I don't think Josh and Pete would care, but Bill would drag him back like a scene in a horror movie because this is HIS club and nobody's leaving it even in death. Bill is hyper intelligent so he knows killing Mandi would cause more drama in the long run, so he'd just keep Jerry under wraps... get it, because he's wrapped up in vines?

Bill bought a box of really old superhero comics he found in a garage sale he was hoping to resell, but the comics were badly water damaged and had a mysterious bacterial spore cloud that blew into his face when he opened the box. He never got around to reselling it and he didn't have the heart to throw them away, so he just left the unsealed box in his basement under a bunch of junk. I feel like if Bill was healthier, went outside more, and threw the box away, he'd actually be fine, but since he lives in the basement and thats the perfect environment for the spores, he got infected.
Could've gone to a doctor too because he was feeling sick, but I don't think he bothers to go see one or even have health insurance, so he just feels worse and worse physically and mentally but ignores it.
where the comics came from is a mystery!

Mandi is still alive and no Jerry did not eat her or bite her or anything. He was about to, but he had his movie trope moment of: human turned monster is about to attack but has a moment of clarity and runs away before they hurt somebody they care about. Because of that moment, Mandi's still out there looking for Jerry, even though she doesn't really know what she's going to do if she does find him.

no zombie joe… He'd be one of those shop keepers from video games that sells weapons/random stuff you need. Display katana for slicing zombies in half? he's got that. A brochure map of the city? he's got a couple and he'll throw one in for a good price (everything is horribly overpriced)

No Brandon doesn't exist, the only characters included in the AU are characters from the comic. Some 7/11's are still open with disgustingly overpriced items so if Brandon was there, he'd be working in one as a survivor.

Strictly canon but it's fun seeing people draw their ocs in the au and I have drawn a Casey Jones inspired survivor Greg a while ago. It was pre-Kate so I haven't thought of anything she'd do, but I did think about his brother Gavin and how he'd be infected but able to fight it off for a little while because of his medication. It was a 'on the field brother' and 'stuck behind a computer relaying information brother' dynamic. They both end up dying though, with Greg getting killed by Bill and Gavin succumbing to the mold after running out of food and his medicine.
