i actually wrote a bit yesterday! ive been gripped by the idea of a princess bride lokius au, so here ya go, have some of that!

The word "love" was not spoken, but it shone in every lingering glance. It whispered in every soft request and every softer reply of, "As you wish."

"Do you not grow tired of always doing as you're told?" Loki asked of him, one lazy afternoon, in the kitchen. Even the pot bubbled lazily, over the fire.

Mobius shook his head, with a smile.

"Never," he answered. "Not when it's you."

This is from a speculative fic based upon the trailer and plot “leaks” regarding Doomsday, so if you’re avoiding anything remotely spoiler-ish, please read no further.

“Well. Should be a pretty awesome spectacle, at least,” Mobius shrugged casually, and Loki chuckled.

“You’ll have a front row seat, Mobius, naturally. You just need to trust me.”

“I always do,” he said easily, smiling back at him, “For all time.”

Loki’s face warmed a little at the barefaced pronouncement, eyes dropping bashfully to his shiny new TVA-issue shoes. But before he could break the sudden silence, the front door of the house creaked open, and he spun around to find Steve leaning through, beckoning them back inside.

“Here we go,” Loki muttered, and despite all of his outward bravado to that point, was exceedingly grateful for the buoying gesture of Mobius’ hand settling upon his back, ushering him towards the porch steps.

Bit random, but I saw a lightning strike today on my drive home, and had a Wildflower AU thought of the trio sitting out on the porch of their house, watching a thunderstorm. I guess that could also be true of canon Eddie and Volt post-realization as well, but it just feels like a kinda country thing to do, y'know? 😅 So that's why Wildflower was my first thought!

OOOOOOHHHHH the IMAGERY

I can see it so clearly in my mind's eye, too 🥺🥰🥰

The three of 'em on the porch swing, probably a dog by their feet, slowly swaying back 'n forth

Radio on low, just there to have a little music playin', them listenin' to the rain and thunder

Telling each other what anecdotes they were told when they were kids about what thunder "was", back when they were little enough that thunder scared them

The cool breeze bringin' the scent of rain-soaked earth up to them

Couldn't help myself, so the beginning:

The storm rumbled on overhead, lightning flashing every few moments, accompanied by the roll of thunder shortly after. Head tucked on Eddie's shoulder, Nib watched the horizon, eyes drawn to each flash of lightning. Their hands were wrapped around the mug full of warm cider Volt had made before they'd all settled on the porch, legs thrown over Volt's thighs, his own mug resting on their shin. Eddie's arm wrapped around their waist, Levina lying at his feet, patched coat glittering with a mist of raindrops that had fallen against the porch just so.
