At first glance Kayden looks rather unapproachable. His arms are always crossed, stern gaze, and overall his presence screams “don’t come near me”, and while he may be distant in conversations and interactions he’s not a bad guy. Once you get to know the rugged individual he’s quite nice to talk to. Unfortunately Kayden doesn’t come with a filter so expect some brutal honesty but know he means well in his words. He holds himself highly but isn’t cocky, for his compelling demeanor he’s a humble man. He’s slow to anger and agitate, he got his patience after dealing with Raven and difficult customers over the years.

Kayden was born to Hotah (a werewolf) and Melisandre (high priestess vampire). His mother faked her death to be with Hotah and raise Kayden in a safer environment on the west coast. Kayden was a handful as a kid, always getting into trouble, making messes, and generally a pain in the neck for his parents. Despite it all, Hotah and Melisandre loved him and did their best to understand and help him.
When Kayden got to high school he calmed down significantly. He got good grades and attendance, for a while his parents were able to breathe. That was until he started dating Allison, a girl a grade below him. She was kind, but her family was the issue. Her mother was a known junkie and SW in the town, her dad was serving a prison sentence for drug related charges. While Allison was kind towards Kayden she did have her bad days. Randomly picking fights, always accusing him of cheating, some days she would even get physically violent towards him. Kayden wanted to leave but stayed because he felt pity towards her.
It all changed when Allison got pregnant, Kayden’s parents were infuriated, mainly Melisandre. Kayden himself was absolutely terrified, he was 16, turning 17 and knew he could not be a parent. Allison especially was giving him a hard time, blaming him for everything. Eventually things calmed down and Melisandre sat down with both Kayden and Allison, explaining their options to them and she would support them no matter what. Ultimately, the two decided to keep the baby, with that Melisandre demanded a paternity test to confirm it was Kayden’s.
As Allison’s pregnancy went on she got worse in her behavior, constantly arguing with both Kayden and Melisandre, as this point she was living with them. This put a massive strain on Kayden’s relationship with his parents. It got to the point where Melisandre wanted Allison out of her house, but Kayden didn’t want Allison moving back into her mom’s place, he wanted to make sure her and the baby were safe. Melisandre took a step back from everything and Hotah took charge. Enforcing that while Allison was living with them, she needed to be respectful.
The day Raven was born it was hard for everyone, Allison wanted nothing to do with her. Apparently she didn’t realize how hard caring for a baby actually is. Kayden and his mother ended up being the ones taking care of Raven, Melisandre didn’t mind as she adored her. Kayden and Allison ended up breaking up and she moved back in with her mom where she started doing drugs. The stress of a new baby and break up got to her.
After a year Kayden ended up with full custody of Raven after Allison was deemed unfit mentally to parent. Her visitation rights were stripped, but it wasn’t a loss to her.
With Allison pretty much out of the picture Kayden was on his own, he was upset that Raven wasn’t going to have a mother figure growing up, and he still had high school to finish. He, Melisandre, and Hotah had a discussion and agreed to raise Raven and their own daughter and have Kayden act as her brother. This would allow Kayden to finish high school and start college, not to mention Raven would have the illusion of having both parents.
Kayden ended up graduating high school and eventually went off to college to get a degree in engineering. He and Raven moved into their own place and he plans to break everything to her once the time is right. For now, Kayden is letting her be a kid and have fun.
