This was bad, He didn’t know about this woman from aside from his own mercifully brief encounters with her, and old reports and hushed stories told about her by Tager and the Professor, but he was right to be scared. This was Azrael, the Mad Dog herself, and he was caught near her.
What confused Makotou, though, was the look on her face. This madwoman, this horrendously powerful boogieman said to live on the very destruction that followed her was standing there, looking spooked out of her mind. The beastkin was proud of his strength- that much was certain, but there was no way in hell he would be making a woman like Azrael halt in fear. There was something else to it.
His ears prick and his tail bristles when she says his name, though her tone… It wasn’t the feral, bloodthirsty growl he heard in those tapes. Than her second statement came.
"E-excuse me!?"
He wasn’t scared like he thought he’d be upon hearing her say that. He actually felt… Relieved?
Kay, Makotou, buddy? Get a hold of yourself. Even if you didn’t just barely know this woman, she’s still the Mad Dog Azrael, and she’s probably more interested in feeding you your ow-
"Y’know, I dunno what it is, but there’s something about you…" Why did he feel this way? Moments ago he was getting ready to book it and call Tager to beg her for backup, but now he was finding himself positively enamored with her. That he was drawn to her.
Azrael wasn't sure how to approach the situation, clinging to Makotou's words in the vain hope that he would return her affections. The Mad Dog began to fidget with the wrappings on her wrists, glancing away from the beastkin with a vivid flush painting her cheeks. She couldn't look at him. It was too embarrassing to admit that she barely knew him but she really liked him...
"I know you're probably terrified of me. I don't doubt for a second that the cat bastard and Tager would leap on the chance to tell you stories about me. About what I've done and what I'm capable of..." Her tone wavered, the blunette getting some of her courage back as she looked toward Makotou for a second.
She swallowed hard, forcing herself to look him in the eyes. "I don't blame you for it, honestly."
