|| I’ve had a rough time pretty consistently lately, and am not sure when things will start to look up. Alongside that, I do have recurring tendinitis in my dominant hand, which means drawing can get pretty painful if I don’t moderate. I do want to be able to illustrate answers, when I manage to come back, so please do be patient, feel free to send in more asks, and I will be back! In the meantime, if you’re looking for BlackMagic content, my friend @a-whole-lot-of-blackmagic can help you with that! She’s currently working on some AU content, and we collaborate on ideas often.

Update

Okay, it's been a couple weeks since I initially promised MerFolk AU content, and honestly, I haven't been really feeling it. I do have a part of the fic started, but I can't bring myself to continue it at the moment. I'm really sorry about not following through with what I set out to do, and I hope you can forgive me for that.

With that being said, I want to propose something else. I've made a poll for a couple different AUs I could draw or write for, and you guys can decide which AU you'd like to see the most out of the few I've selected.

There’s a lot that goes into the upkeep and running of a server, and, with a rarepair like this one, we have concerns the Discord would simply die out before it could even get up and running. Should someone else make one and like to invite us, our DMs are open. As of now, though, there are no plans for a BlackMagic Discord server. ||

Oh! This is interesting, I wonder why do you ship Mr. Compress with Kurogiri? I'm really curious :)

I first started shipping them when I started talking to @blackmagicstarship on discord. We had begun talking about ships and some pairings, and they introduced me to the rare pair. So, curiosity struck me, and I started to do my own reading of the fics and looked at some art. Soon enough, I thought they were really cute and good together, I thought that they worked really well for each other. They both are adults who honestly need a little support and a shoulder to lean on, and perhaps a little romance sprinkled in too doesn’t hurt.

Also, I really like both of them on their own as characters. I admittedly have a fascination with magic, magic tricks, and illusions, and I can’t say no to a well dressed, bartender.

Kurogiri and Atsuhiro: if you don't mind my asking, how many lovers have you had before each other? Was there any common traits amongst them? What qualities do you find attractive in a partner? What do you find the most attractive about each other? Ty!

Compress: I have had quite the variety of partners throughout my life! As for common traits among them? That’s quite simple; I’m a sucker for a well-dressed, self-respecting person. While I’ve had flings purely for the sexual payoff, romantic partners have always had to be... well, intellectual for me to be any sort of interested. I am the only one in the relationship allowed to have, as the kids say, one brain cell. Giri hits so many points for a good partner. It’s nigh impossible to pick just a few traits of his that I adore the most!

Kurogiri: While I had been... curious in my younger years, Atsuhiro is my first truly serious relationship. My list of lovers is... fairly short. I would prefer not to speak of them. Atsuhiro is, by far, the most pleasant person I’ve been with. He is kind, mature, understanding, intelligent... patient. There is nothing I say that he does not listen to, even if I think he isn’t listening. Atsuhiro is a wonderful person. The only complaint I could ever think of is against his fashion choices.

So how'd you two figure out you were in love?

Kurogiri: Well, it... began quite early on. He was, relatively, far more mature than the others. He was always calling to check up on the other members, especially the younger ones like Miss Toga. I always admired him, I think, since the beginning. My feelings, naturally and simply, progressed from there.

Compress: I’ve always had it bad for tall, dark, (and, I assume,) handsome men. But, no, no, in all reality, though, he’s quite intelligent and clever, and his patience is astronomical. If I hadn’t fallen for him physically, I certainly would have fallen for his mind. As it was....

Who usually makes the first move

Compress: It depends quite a lot on what you count as the “first move.” If initiating is the first move, then, well, I do! I can’t help myself.

Kurogiri: Other than that... I do. It is often the quickest and... most favorable way to quiet him down. I believe it may still surprise him, no matter how often I do it.

Compress: Oh, where do I begin with the misunderstandings in my life? When I was three, and they thought I was much smarter than I am? Or perhaps the time I was twelve, and I told people I wanted to be famous? … perhaps the time I told people I was magic in bed and stole their valuables post-coitus. 

Ah, but, no, in all seriousness… my life has been a confusing web of misunderstandings and misfortunes. It’s… difficult to pick just one to talk about. I believe the most recent was… well, between Giri and myself! It’s often difficult to tell one’s feelings when one wears a mask and has yet to learn the expressions of a man of mist.
