Aylia Demir: intro || threads || pinterest || playlist Julieta St.James: intro || threads || pinterest || playlist
" mmm, i've only been here for six years. " she pouts, ready to read the disappointment. she was used to it by now, the outsider treatment from some of the locals but she'd like to think she was becoming more acquainted with the small town over time. " but i have grown to love this little place. it's different from home - i like it. "
"i already know that. if i didn't, we wouldn't even be friends." she pointed out. the moment the two met, she knew they would end up becoming close friends. and she was right about that too. "i've been to an apple orchard that was just outside of manhattan. it was nice. but it wasn't like the one here." the donuts here were just better. the same with the apple cider. "ready to go pick some apples?"
Derin looked over at Juliet, she was a member of the pack but she was un triggered and not in the know of much. She came from a family of wolves much like herself. "I'll be fine Jules." Derin gave her a pointed look, as if she needed another babysitter. "I never get to go out anymore. I'm not gonna throw away my one night of freedom away from him.
"you can still go out and have fun. just try not to drink so much." she pointed out. jules herself rarely drank. if she did, it was a glass of wine at home. that was it. or on occassion, a drink on christmas eve and new years while at her parents. but that was it. "do you not get the chance to go out and do anything?"
it's near eleven thirty by the time the keys entered the locks, it was certainly past the time he initially texted her he'll by home by. eight, nine by the latest. time flew by, double checking things over, once, twice sometimes three times over until he was satisfied enough to lock up and by that time, it was past ten already. did he expect her to be asleep when he came home? like every other time he worked late, no. convincing her to go to bed and not wait up on him was a lost fight he'd accepted two years ago. " thanks. " keys hang on the hook, jacket off shoulders and right to the closet in its spot, approaching the couch where Jules was, a kiss to her temple. " i know i'm late, again. i'm sorry, i'll make it up to you. " again.
so many times, he had tried to tell her to go to bed while he was working late. but jules didn't. she hated going to sleep without him there. it was why she opted to stay awake until he got home. "I also made a homamde apple pie too." with the fresh apples she had gotten earlier, how could she not? seeing him walk over to the couch, a soft smile formed on her lips. "you know that you don't have to make it up to me, right?" she never wanted him to feel like he had too. grabbing his hand gently, she pulled him down onto the couch next to her. if he really wanted to make it up to her though, she would accept that in the form of cuddles.
"wait..." she leaned forward, curiosity peaked. "do you think someone would curse a whole town out of jealousy?" it wasn't the most ridiculous conclusion, but still...it was pretty wild to think someone was that petty. june wouldn't discard it though. she'd seen her fair share of crazy and petty.
"It's possible. i mean if the persons lover cheated on them, yeah. some people can be petty enough to curse them, or their entire bloodline." she pointed out. she wouldn't put it past her for that happening. some people were just petty like that. and took it out on their loved ones as well. something she didn't like.
"I really hope you're right. but I doubt it'll just be forgotten." he retrieved the page, giving her a polite smile. "you know how small town gossip goes. they'll move on, but they'll be waiting for updates." and in all honesty, so was he. he needed answers. the whole thing was too crazy to just be brushed off. nobody would forget about it any time soon.
"i think that's just about anywhere here in the US." she pointed out. the time she had spent out of ashwick had proven that. no matter where you went, everyone was almost the same. when something happened, they paid attention, and after a while, they moved on. that's how it went sadly. "those who really care though will be waiting for updates." and that was the truth. those who did care more than others would be the ones who waited for updates.
"As if it isn't already too hard for our police force, with all the evidence they must have." Theo didn't have anything against the local law enforcement, but he would be the first to admit they weren't the best. Maybe that's why so many supernatural creatures like this town so much, less chance of getting caught when you've got a few complete dunces protecting the place.
"So, what's your theory? your guess is probably just as good as the cop's."
"i'm not a big fan of the police here." she admitted. she never was. she hated how some acted. as if they were this almighty thing that people should respect instantly. and to her, that wasn't going to make her respect them right away. "at the moment, i don't have any." she replied. but she knew one thing, who ever did this would probably strike again. she had a feeling it woudl happen. "i do know that this isn't a teen doing this. if it was, we'd know by now."
Riley let out an exhale with a bit of annoyance, she wasn't annoyed with Aylia, just the fact that she was right. "I know, I know." She would just have to suck it up and get through it. "I don't miss the destruction though." She said with a soft smile, "It seems we have had a good season so far, we are lucky. The country as a whole has been getting lucky. Their hasn't been any major hurricanes on the other coast yet either."
"lucky, yes. but it still worries me though." hurricanes may be a pain, but they also helped in ways some people didn't even realize. that was why she was concerned about it. "while we've have no hurricanes yet, there ahve been more tornados this year though. almost close to 1,300 this year." and that was all due to climate change too. she was sure of it. "enough about weather though. excited for the holiday season coming up?"
most things did not worry wylie these days if he was going to be honest. though he was still going to keep a look out on these streets and if eddy wasnât the only one messing around with his touristsâ heâd be having a firm talking to them, certain that it would interrupt a police investigation, but when did wylie ever listen to the rules? âthis is true, your selfness does get mistaken a lot for being moody.â he should have clocked this the moment the conversation started if he was going to be honest. âi guess we wonât know more about it until more news comes out, i donât like spreading rumors.â he says a sickly sweet smile as he tilts his head at her. âoh! you should take me on one of those storm chaser moments. do you like, forget about ashwick? i feel like this place is so small ot the rest of the world.â
"you've known me for a whule now. you should know how i am." she pointed out. she was rarely moody. most of the time, she was more in a nuetral mood. "better to let them investigate what happened. if people want to start rumors, that's on them. but it won't help anything." that was what she had believed. starting rumors without knowing the facts or what had happened always made things worse. "i have videos i can show you from the past summer. i got some pretty cool up close ones." she suggested. to say seeing a tornado in person was exciting was an understatement. she loved storm chasing and the craziness it brought. "when i'm storm chasing, i tend to not think of anyone else aside from what's going on currently."
the words to sarah's ears didn't sit too finely, for some reason, she couldn't quite put her finger on it. people might move on from it soon... the implication, she presumes is what bothers her. not to the other woman's fault, it was truth. " that's why we're needed. to not let these victims fade into obscurity when everyone else wants to give up and forget about it. " that, had always frustrated her. victims not getting closure, their families left to no closure. she enjoyed the thrill of the next unsolvable as anyone else but the true reward was in the answers. " huh. " she takes a glance upwards to the sky. " i hadn't noticed. you look at the weather a lot ? "
in the world they lived in, the one thing she hated more than anything was how fast people would move on from something. whether it was this. or something that involved children dying. sooner or later they would always move on from it. even the media too. it was something that didn't sit right with aylia all together. but that's how it was today. "if other people apart of the media were like you, maybe some things out there would be better." but that wasn't how it worked apparently. "i do. i'm a meteorologist after all. looking into weather patterns is sort of my thing."
open to: everyone location: local apple orchard
with the fall weather there in full force. it meant that the one place she loved was finally open. the apple orchard. and that meant going there to pick some fresh apples. a favorite of hers. every year, she would go there a few times. standing outside in front of the building, she could smell the freshly baked donuts. "nothing can honestly compare to getting fresh donuts from here." spoke before looking over at the other. "i take it you come here every year too?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.
It had been years since Seojin last saw Ayliaâyears since heâd walked the familiar path to that house where memory clung to every shadow. Her uncle had been an old acquaintance, one Seojin had grown to respect, though even then, heâd kept his distance. That was his wayâconnections made, never held too close.
As he approached, the faint creak of the swing reached his ears, and there she wasâexactly where he expected her to be. Time had touched her gently, though it was cruel in how swiftly it passed.
âAylia,â he greeted, his voice low but steady, inclining his head slightly. âSomething told me I should come by today.â His gaze lingered on her, sharp yet not unkind. He could read her silence the way others might read words. âIâm right, arenât I?â he said quietly, nodding toward the empty yard and the house behind her. âYou wouldnât be out here if everything was fine.â
in the time she had known him, the one thing she knew was that he could almost always tell if something wasn't right. and in that moment? something was bothering her. something her cousin had told her before she excused herself to go sit outside. "it has to do with my cousin." maybe it was something stupid to others, but not to her. not when it gave her a bad feeling. "she wants to move in with that human boyfriend of hers." she started off. if the guy had been nice, she wouldn't be so objective over it. but he was rude. and just over all horrible from what aylia could see.
"i met him once and i got nothing but bad vibes from him." maybe she was wrong on this though. but she couldn't be that supportive person to her cousin at the moment. she tried so hard to be supportive too. but this? her cousin wanting to just move in with a guy she's been dating for only a few months. that was a no for her.
open to: dean ( @bloodrhise location: their home
with dean working late tonight, something she had a feeling would happen, it left her alone for dinner. saving a plate of spaghetti and meatballs for him, along with some slices of the homemade garlic bread, she made sure to put it in the fridge for him. it was something she did whenever situations like this came up. after pouring herself a glass of wine, she grabbed a blanket and made her way out onto the screen porch in the back. a favorite place of hers to hang out on after a long day. placing the glass down on the table, she sat down on the couch out there. grabbing her book she had left out there, she leaned back as she opened it. pulling the blanket over herself, she soon enough found herself laying down. how long had she been out there now? an hour or two? with her glass of wine empty, and her halfway through her book, she could feel herself getting tired. but she didn't want to sleep yet. not until dean got home. hearing the front door open, she knew it was him. "there's dinner for you in the fridge." she called out as she bookmarked the page she was.
Open Starter Where: Local Grocery Store
To say that Natalia hated grocery shopping was an understatement. There were always too many choices and in general it was too boring for her liking. Which was why she liked to play little games with herself when she could. The most fun to her was shopping cart bowling, and at the end of her trip she tried to get a perfect score by pushing her cart into the return when it gave an unexpected veer to the right hitting a car. âOh shit!â Natalia said before looking around and finding someone who watched the whole thing. âListen Iâll give you $20 if you donât snitch.â She offered before a sudden thought came to mind. âOr Iâll buy you lunch if that was your car.â
the last thing she expected when walking out to her car was seeing another cart hit it. was it just her 'lucky' day or what? a sigh escaped her lips as she made her way over to where her car was parked. "you shoud probably be more cafeful next time." she pointed out. "next time, another person might not be as nice as i am about this." she was willing to let it go since there was no damage to the car. but who was to say someone else would be just as nice? "i don't need your money or you buying me lunch." and she meant it. "my car's fine. so save your money for something you need."
status: OPEN location: town square muse: lucia cabrera-stanford
"did you hear about all the blood they found? so gross." lucia rolled her eyes, acting as if it was no big deal. deep down though, she knew something terrible had happened. all that blood belonged to someone--or something. to be wasted spilled like that...someone was trying to send a message. the whos and the whats were the real mystery. "what do we thing? animal attack? serial killer? someone totally tried to get rid of a body..."
of course she had heard about it. it had been on the news all day long. how could she not know about it? "i did, sadly." having to hear about that was upsetting. knowing that someone out there belonged to a person. and not knowing if they were alive or not, that sent a shiver up her spine. how could anyone even do something like that to begin with? "if it was an animal, then i doubt they'll even find the person." but if it was the second option, then there was one sick individual out there.
Location: The Pulse Status: Open
Derin pounded down another shot and tapped the glass against the bar, "Another." Her husband didn't know where she was, not yet anyway. She was sure he would find her soon enough. This whole 'married' life was not for her, especially to some stranger. A voice chimed in and said she should slow down, "Maybe, If I wanted to be boring." She said as she took the next shot. "Does anyone in here actually up for a good time?"
why was she there again? oh right, because it was her friends birthday. but with the birthday girl gone now, it left her and a few others there. she should have expected the birthday girl to leave early with some random guy she started making out with. to each their own. hearing someone ask for another, jules raised an eyebrow. looking at the female at the bar, it made her wonder how anyone could just order drink after drink. "you really should slow down though. i'm pretty sure you haven't eaten anything either. so drinking on an empty stomach isn't good." she pointed out.
leyla smiles in agreement, a light nod to accompany it. " indeed. it should be prohibited if you ask me. a good drink should be shared amongst friends. " that, and the cheap stuff tasted absolutely terrible to the tongue. " hm.. " she gives moment to think, taking a guess what kind she think she'd like. what she looks like she'd come back to the winery for on the regular. " pomegranate and vermouth. it's like red wine but added warmth. would you like to try it? on the house. "
"i've had plenty of watered down drinks and they were all shit." why people served watered down alcohol was beyond her. they were plain out horrible. "it should. i feel like some bar owners serve it just to cut costs." wouldn't surprise her. some bar owners did seem to be a bit on the cheap side. hearing the others suggestion of wine, she thought about it for a moment before nodding her head. she was sure it would be better than the ones she had been getting from the store. "i'll try it."
