Happy anniversary to my favourite animated series!
I got the chance to contribute to @inplainsightpp alongside many other talented creators!
It's been raining often these days, so once I hopped into sketching, I've thought about S1E1 Gino (investigations on a rainy night, that kind of thing) but I just felt like drawing long-hair Gino lol.
Could have the scene translated with ginochan and pops? Both the balcony talk and before pops passed away, I wanted to know if something was said differently or anything. Thanks!
Hi sure! Between Gino and Pops, there is not much that is said differently; there is a small scene where Gino is thinking about his past with his father. I'll leave all three scenes here. From PP Volume 2.
Translations under the cut!
Balcony Scene:
The rooftop of the Public Security Bureau headquarters building was like an observation deck. The sky, which usually appeared narrow due to the surrounding buildings, seemed vaster here.
Masaoka and Ginoza, who had kept their distance from the other employees and cleaning drones resting on the bench, stood leaning against the windscreen and the rooftop railing.
“You called me, I wonder if it’s going to snow tomorrow…”
Masaoka said that and laughed.
“The probability of precipitation tomorrow is 0% during the morning and afternoon.” Ginoza answered without smiling.
“It’s an old metaphor. So, what’s going on?”
“During the counselling...”
“Huh?”
Ginoza hesitated as he tried to speak. ──What are you going to do now that you showed your weakness to Masaoka?
“Nevermind. I have a few questions about Inspector Tsunemori.”
In the end, Ginoza changed the subject of the story.
“What’s wrong with the young miss?”
“Why doesn’t her Hue darken? What kind of stress care is she receiving?”
“Are you asking me that..?”
“You’re closer to her than I am.”
“I don’t know. Young miss is young miss and I am me.”
The shadows blurred and stretched out, and the twilight gradually deepened. The setting sun quietly dyed the rooftop red. Ginoza sometimes wondered if even that sun was a hologram.
“One thing is certain; the young lady is not afraid of her Crime Coefficient at all.” Masaoka said.
“I am always surrounded by people like that…!” Ginoza said harshly, his long eyelashes fluttering. “Inspector Tsunemori, Kogami…… and even you.”
Ginoza uttered the last part in a whisper.
“Even though Kou and I are like this, maybe that girl is okay?”
“Why do you think so?”
“She forgives, acknowledges, and accepts the world. And she’s not afraid to cross dangerous bridges. She believes in the meaning and value of the job of a detective without questioning it. The only thing she can’t do is ignore the Sibyl System.”
“…You’re saying it was different in your case?”
“Me? Hmm, well…” Masaoka’s eyes narrowed as if he was looking into the distance.
“It was the same until a certain point. When I see that girl, I miss my old self. I think I used to believe in justice and all that like her. But then one day, something suspicious called the Sibyl System suddenly appeared, and the world changed completely. I was given a talking gun, and I was ordered to shoot and capture people or kill them as it instructed. That was…It wasn’t the detective work I believed in. Evidence collection and trials disappeared, and machines judged people's sins." Masaoka sighed as he scratched his head.
“…What if I said no. I kept saying no, but I was still a detective. It’s the same today. Even at this age, I can’t imagine that I might have had a different life.”
Ginoza flashed a cold smile at his father, Masoka, a potential criminal.
“You denied Sibyl, and Sibyl denied you. A new order was born. In a world of chaos that was on the verge of destruction, this country rose again.”
“Yeah. Maybe I was wrong in the end. The current era is definitely much more peaceful and prosperous than when I was young. When I acknowledged that and gave up, thinking didn’t matter anymore, my Crime Coefficient stabilized. I was finally able to compromise with the world. So, what about you? Are you maintaining your clear Psycho Pass?”
“That's none of your business.”
“It’s pretty hard to advance in the career of an Inspector, right? That's the standard.”
“There’s no need to worry. Are you trying to act like a father again?”
“What’s wrong with a subordinate caring about a superior who’s about to get promoted?”
“…”
“It’s just like I said earlier. If you have any doubts about the System, if you have any suspicions about something, be careful. There might be a trap just like the one I fell into waiting for you beyond that.”
Ginoza turned his eyes away from Masaoka. It was the same as Akane. Ginoza was always the one who couldn’t stand it.
After Kogami's Escape:
(Kasei wants Div 3 to hunt down Kogami and asks DIv 1 to pursue Makishima. Gino puts his foot down and insists that Div 1 will catch him, because he's afraid that Div 3 will shoot and kill Kogami. Chief overrules this. Before this, Gino's CC goes up dangerously after Kogami leaves.)
After meeting with Chief Kasei, Ginoza took the elevator back to the criminal investigation department floor. Masaoka was waiting in the elevator hall.
“So, how did it go?”
“…There is no change in our mission. Division 1 will continue to be in charge of tracking Kogami Shinya and Makishima Shogo. This is a direct order from the Chief.”
“Don’t lie, Nobuchika. I told you to rest, didn't I?”
“…”
His lie was so quickly figured out. Ginoza groaned.
“You, and Young Miss, must not get involved with those guys anymore.”
“It has to be Division 1!” Ginoza shouted.
“We can handle the situation flexibly! We could have recommended surrender before shooting Kogami…”
“Nobuchika. Since when have you been so withdrawn?”
“──!”
Masaoka's sympathetic voice and gaze grated on Ginoza's nerves.
"Even if Kogami surrenders, he'll be sent to the facility and killed. If we're going to track down Kogami Shinya, we have no choice but to risk our lives and deal with him. In that case, we should leave it to Division 3…."
"How can we put it off as someone else's business?!"Ginoza grabbed Masaoka by the collar and pushed him against the wall angrily.
"It's obvious! You knew all along and let it happen! You didn't even stop Kogami from leaving! You just stood by and watched! That bastard will kill Makishima!"
"…"
Masaoka didn't deny it. Ginoza's face twisted in anger.
"That is a proper breach of trust, no, it is criminal assistance. No matter how much you talk, you can’t fool the Dominator. Should I measure your CC right now? …Damn it!”
Ginoza took his hand off Masaoka and slammed the wall.
“You and that guy, you both left me behind! You both want to be apostles of justice that much?!’
"It's not justice. It's an obsession." Masaoka cut him off.
“It’s like a ball rolling down a slope. Even though I know there are smarter ways to live, I just can’t accept that. When you turn your back on it, everything you’ve built up becomes a lie. There comes a time when that happens.”
Masaoka let out a sigh as if catching his breath and continued.
“If Kogami had come all this way and been a quiet guy, he wouldn’t have become an Enforcer in the first place. He made a choice that he risked his whole life for, so who can stop him?”
“That’s…the arrogance of you Enforcers?”
“It’s not because I am an Enforcer. It’s because I have a man’s pride.”
“That’s an old saying. Then I have my own arrogance. I’ll definitely stop that idiot Kogami with my own hands. No matter what anyone says.”
After spitting that out, Ginoza turned his back on Masaoka.
Gino's Memory:
When Ginoza Nobuchika was young...
I was once taken to a wasteland by my father, a detective. I was strictly warned not to approach because it was dangerous, so why did my father and I go together── I don’t remember the details well.
“It’s going to get a little dangerous, so let’s evacuate to a safe house. It’s okay. It’s only for one day, so there won’t be any problems.”
──My father said something like that. I have a vague memory of it.
In an unfamiliar room in an unfamiliar place, my father showed me a pistol. Since there were no other ‘toys’ that a child would like, he seemed to have ‘no choice’ but to show me.
An old weapon that uses gunpowder──.
“It’s a secret.”
My father smiled bitterly as he said that. At that time, Nobuchika was proud that he could share a secret with his father. ──Now that I think about it, I’m not even sure if that really happened or not.
Still, it was a special day.

That's about it! If you guys have any other requests, my ask box is always open! 😘
Sup. Since @blackshadow2084 requested one for Gino, I'm here to deliver. Get your man, Ginoza fans. (@latentillusion) Some KouGino and SuGino as well.
Idk if these are a hit or miss, I have a soft spot for Gino, so I didn't crack many jokes at his expense.
season 2 may be hated but season 2 gino will never be hated like look at this man 🙏🙏
also this may be an unpopular opinion but i acc loved season 2 and the rest of the seasons of psycho pass .. maybe that’s just cuz i love literally anything that’s psycho pass related tho !!
man. the way the sibyl system has taken everything from ginoza and yet he remains devout to it because he rationalizes it as a fault with the individual (his father choosing his job over his family, kougami's obsession with makishima, ginoza's own inability to see things in positive light the way tsunemori does) as opposed to a fault with the system that dehumanizes and destroys the lives of people deemed undesirable. baby boy please you need to borrow some of kougami's banned books sometimes
I think at some point he realizes something’s very wrong with this system and that’s why he proceeds to assist tsunemori. He has faith that she is one the most righteous ppl in the whole series
