Preview of Chapter 18 of FPoD. 🙃

This project has really become a playground for me. In chapter 18, I tried my hand at drawing 5 pages of manga. I’ll be honest - it was torture. I watched 15 seasons of Supernatural on the side, that’s how long it took. But it was very motivating that Dean has the same German voice actor as Kaito. 😍

Definitely respect to everyone who regularly draws and posts manga scenes here (you all know who I mean). For me, it was a cool experiment, but that’s probably where it ends. I think overall I feel more comfortable making single illustrations or animating videos. ☺️

The only thing I’m still stuck on is the chapter cover. I got a bit overconfident and wanted to color it with alcohol markers (which I’ve never used before - yeah, dumb 🤪). But I did the lineart on the wrong type of paper. The paper sucks up the ink from the markers at the slightest touch - this can’t end well. I’ve already tried copying it onto the correct paper, but the printer ink smudges when I use the markers.

If anyone has a tip on how to save it, I’d be really grateful. I did the lineart with a black Copic pigment pen.

If I fail, it’ll just end up being a photographed line drawing after all.

finished the kaito kid versions! felt it was well timed with the whole, yknow, chair heist episode. And may reflect certain feelings about it. I'm not drawing any more god damn chairs after this. I'm done forever.

I WAS going to draw a Kaito version of the crisis chair but @blackshuck007 wrote the kaishin Shinichi whump that I desperately needed sooo I had to bang this out quickly. Still relearning how to draw so I couldn't do the colouring I wanted or any of the later scenes that have SUUCHH good imagery (really, go read it)
