「Ƹ̴Ӂ̴Ʒ 」 Zoe has been so busy deciding on some new “decor” (do you think she could steal some stars to fit in here?) she hadn’t really noticed the girl, her roommate, approaching her, sword in hand.

When she finally did notice her, having heard the other girl’s voice, she could only stare. Zoe didn’t interact with humans often– they said she was “a bad omen”– but if there’s one thing she knew, 100%, absolutely, about humans it was that their girls are always–

“You’re GORGEOUS!”

Zoe tumbled out of her portal, skipping to the other girl before floating slightly to look directly at her face, “Wow! You’re so so pretty!”

She gasps, looking even more giddy than before, if it were possible, “Let’s be friends! Like– Best friends! Oh! OH! Or sisters!! I’ve never had a sister before! Wow, isn’t this crazy, how we’re like– Best sister friends! Ah, having someone so pretty as my sister! Everyone is gonna be so! Jealous!”

A small tangent, ramblings about how “close we’re gonna be”, and Zoe realizes that maybe– just maybe– she’s talking a bit too much.

“Oh, oops! Sorry!” She giggles, “I just realized I don’t even know your name! We can’t be friends yet if I don’t even know that. My name’s Zoe, what’s your?”

Hoshi could do naught but watch the girl, who now seemed to be the one freaking out, but more in a good way? Hoshi took a moment to think while they were in silence for a few moments, the girl had the presence and the powers of being unlike any spell caster Hoshi had ever heard of, even from stories from her master. It was the moment after that thought as the next loud phrase rang in her ears she had been called gorgeous by the girl and it took only a few seconds for Hoshi to understand what the girl said which brought a slight shade of pink to her cheeks. Hoshi watched as the the girl tumbled out of the...she still had no idea what to call whatever THAT was but the girl still stumbled, Hoshi’s instincts reacted sticking out her arm as a sign that she would help catch her if it was needed. And if Hoshi’s mind was not already blown by the girl it certainly was now as Hoshi watched her float up just to get a closer look Hoshi, now at this point Hoshi’s mind was pretty much blank trying to figure this all out.

“G-Gorgeous? Me?” Hoshi asked though her voice was drowned out by the girl going on to talk Hoshi had no idea what was in store for her in this ‘conversation.’ “Friends? Yes i-” Hoshi was cut off again it from friends to best friends to sisters, what was this girl even talking about now? They were just supposed to be roommates right? Next it went on to sister friends and best sister friends, what on earth did that even mean? Was there even such a term as ‘sister friends?’ The was hyper and excited that was definitely sure with how she was talking it was almost like a child literally swallowed a heap of pure sugar, was that even a correct comparison now or was even THAT too small? Hoshi had stopped trying to speak assuming that she would just be interrupted once again as she patiently waited for the girl to go quiet so she could speak, and even with all of this talking Hoshi still did not hear the answer to her question, though the name did fit.

The girl then went on to introductions and stated that her name was Zoe, well Hoshi could say that the name sounded like it fit someone so...hyper, but then a question came up asking Hoshi for her name. “Ah are you done? Then my name is Hoshi Kawa, I am a samurai hailing from Japan, I originally inhabited this apartment room a few months ago, i hope most everything is too you liking i worked hard to keep it clean.” Hoshi said this knowing that she didn’t change anything about the room or even her own room if she had to be exact, she wasn’t the one to normally mess with the looks of things normally because it would look horrible after she did. Though she also realized that when stating this she kind of sounded like she was some kind of cleaning person, but there wasn’t any way to fix what she said, she assumed she must still be unconsciously nervous about having a roommate.

「Ƹ̴Ӂ̴Ʒ 」 A roommate…

Zoe’s never had a room before, let alone a roommate! Most comic being kinda just float around here and there, after all, and being able to find them easily makes their jobs a little difficult sometimes.

But here she was, standing in front of her new, uh… apartment! Wow! She really was mature! Having her first apartment at only a billion years old! Wait till the other aspects hear about this.

Rather than opening the door, she decides creating a small portal is much easier, poking her head into it to look around the apartment with giddiness.

“This is so COOL!” Her voice echos slightly through the building as her excitement bubbles, “Could do with more color though…”

Hoshi had been taking time to herself it was not often she would get to relax, though relaxing was not exactly what she was doing at the time, it may have seemed that way if someone had observed her though. Hoshi was sitting in silence in the darkness, she had gotten a notification from her phone that she would be getting a roommate soon, Hoshi was not whole convinced she was mentally ready it. Hoshi had not shared a room with anyone since she was a small girl so i was natural to be a little nervous even though the two would technically be in separate rooms. Hoshi had lite an incense to have a small amount of light in the room and have a calming aroma fill the room while she concentrated, this was a training unlike any she was greatly used to. Though it seemed it had been around mid-day when Hoshi noticed how long she had actually been sitting there, her legs had gone numb for a moment, making her attempt to stand rather hard to accomplish.

It had only been moments after Hoshi had regained the feeling in her legs that she heard a rather loud voice, as if someone was shouting inside of the apartment room...the one she locked the door to. Hoshi picked up her katana and moved to the door taking a deep breath before pushing it open, Hoshi was more worried about the voices volume rather than what the person said, so she didn’t actually catch what they said. What hoshi saw after opening the door to her room started to make her freak out a bit, “What on...” Hoshi gazed upon the young girl peering through a hole made in the very presence of reality, or portal or rift if you will. Hoshi had no idea what to say, first people that looked like monsters now little girls who intruded upon homes in a way Hoshi was not able to stop, she was only merely a human after all. “A-Are...” Hoshi stuttered staring at the girl, “Are you my...new roommate?”

Hoshi asked this while having no real idea what she should think, if this was her roommate dear gods above what has she been wrapped up in? If the girl was not then how would Hoshi fight off a magic user? Hoshi has few weaknesses those being high quality Japanese dishes when it comes to food, and magic when it comes to battle, though with the way the girl was inspecting the home Hoshi was sure a battle would not ensue. The girl seemed just about as excited as Hoshi did when she first moved in with her master, it brought back memory if she had to be honest, was this her place of residence alone from her family? Hoshi’s grip on her blade’s sheath relaxed as she watched the girl, could someone like her even pose a threat? The answer to that was probably if she tried hard enough, but it didn’t seem like the girl was trying, so there was no reason for hoshi to draw her blade.

Hoshi, like normal, was taking it upon herself to patrol the city and keep a sharp ear out for anyone that might need her help, though it wasn’t like things like that actually happened often around her. Her attire was that of anyone that would be in this kind of weather, though the only thing that changed from her normal attire was and overcoat to keep her warm, she may be a warrior but she isn’t immune to the elements, or spells for that matter. Hoshi still held te katana at her side like she always has, there was never a moment the blade was more than an arms reach from her besides in her own home. Her eyes gazed over the sidewalk in front of her, oddly though something was different she had noticed she had been passing by many people who were much more friendly than what she got from her own district. Though it was not unnatural, the people seemed more relaxed and refined were they even worrying about what was actually going on behind the blissfully shaded facade? 

Perhaps that was the best way to see the world these days, though ignorance is not a state she wished to live in, no that would be as if putting her entire reason to live to the side to merely survive. No she would be the one to face the problems head on, no matter what the situation brought, though she knew she was not the only one that thought like that, but to think someone like him would think like that, was astounding. Who? Why the boy who formed a ‘squad,’ whatever that was, with his friends, yes these small forces were not unknown to Hoshi, she would see them acting now and then, more than likely she would steer clear most of the time, but today was not so productive. It just so happened that, though yes she was on patrols of her own with no restrictions, she was also headed over to a specific area to observe the area where she assumed the last case had been brought up, though it WAS an assumption since the area was not openly stated. Hoshi had first been watching the male from afar, he had some kind of creature with him, it seemed to obey hima and be friendly, though it was obviously not some kind of mind control, perhaps he domesticated it? Odd truly odd.

Though it wasn’t long before the male had turned his attention towards her direction, almost as if he was tipped off that she had been watching him for a few minutes now. The male had turned her way, though unlike Hoshi had expected he smiled and waved at Hoshi, as if he knew who she was, which couldn’t be right? Moments later as Hoshi did not respond with movement, nor even a smile back at him he started to move towards Hoshi, and Hoshi felt the nerves in her body reacting telling her to just move on, perhaps it was her fear acting up? Without even realizing it a worried look had covered her face though she did not intend for something like that at all, perhaps the ideas of a ‘squad’ was more intimidating than it actually sounded... Nevertheless Hoshi had never run from anything in her life before and she was not going to start now, but she definitely was not going to move closer on her own.

A little less natural

Hoshi closed the door behind her and stretched a bit, the sleep she had last night was almost so good she didn’t even want to get up, but alas she has things she needs to do, such as helping the people. Hoshi walked down the hall with blade at her side the light steps sounding gently in the hall, she had walked like this many days before, though today it felt as if she had not moved in a month. Hoshi made her way to the elevator and started to ride it down to the bottom floor, she stood beside the buttons for the elevator intending to press them for those who also boarded the elevator. It wasn’t too long before the elevator stopped and the doors opened, a smile spread on Hoshi’s face it would happen she would get someone in the elevator with her today. Though the smile soon faded as the person, if you could call it that, walked into the elevator, Hoshi just looked in both amazement and surprise because she couldn’t explain what it was even to herself.

“Uh...What floor...ma’am?” Hoshi asked like she intended though the ‘ma’am was said with a more questioning tone, she did not intend to be rude, but this person was the most unnatural things she had seen. Though it was unnatural and, currently, explainable it was odd that Hoshi found the person both ultimately repulsive, yet very beautiful. Hoshi’s hand remained on her blade, ready to protect herself just in case the person took offense to the way she spoke, it was only human nature to want to protect yourself from something you didn’t understand. A louder than intended gulp resounded from Hoshi’s throat, she was unsure of what to do besides going on her intended course of action, the elevator was too small that, well she wouldn’t last long if attack that’s for sure.

‘Come on introduce yourself, you obviously don’t know them, don’t make it awkward!’ Thinking this hoshi took a deep breath, her hand was still clinging to her katana as she turned her head to the woman. “My name is Hoshi, i don’t think we’ve met before.” Playing it safe and easy like that was probably the best way to go right now, hoshi didn’t need conflict at the moment, “What is your name, if you don’t mind me asking.” Hoshi followed up on her own speech trying to make at least some kind of conversation to pass the time in elevator. Perhaps the person had something interesting to speak about? Maybe Hoshi could mention something about food, come to think of it she was growing quiet famish.

Fake sides, truth in lies

Hoshi walked along the halls with her eyes closed, she was listening to see if anyone needed any help, and though yes it was eavesdropping it was for a good reason. Hoshi focused better with her eyes closed, she listened more, she could hear things others could not when she had her eyes closed, though it was not heightened perception it was more just focusing on the sounds around her. Well most of the sounds Hoshi was walking through the halls all morning listening for any cries of help or paniced shouts within the rooms, but she was so focused on hearing voice she forgot that sounds were a factor as well. It wasn’t long until a door opened in front of her and a man had stepped out, and thanks to her focus and having her eyes closed she saw neither man nor door a few seconds after Hoshi was startled as she walked into the man's side and fell back onto the floor.

“I am sorry sir!” Hoshi shouted as she quickly fixed her position to be on her knees her palms pressed to the ground her forehead pressed to the back of her hands while she shouted this apology. “I was not paying enough attention! I hope you are not angry with me i was only meaning to look out for the people of the apartments!” Hoshi still shouted this, though from her position her shouts probably sounded more like normal speaking tone, Hoshi was taught this position at a young age and though she may not be using it correctly or was she? Hoshi soon sat up, she didn’t actually want to sit up yet she thought a prolonged bow would have been more appropriate for an apology, but she could not stay like that forever.

“I truly am sorry sir, i didn't mean to bump into you, i will be more careful from now on i hope you are unharmed from my reckless act.” Hoshi knew it was bad to walk with her eyes closed in the first place, why did she do it? Because other people's safety was more important than her own to her. “Is there any way i can make up being so reckless and wasting your time like this sir?” Hoshi asked though she knew more than likely she might get pulled along for something she was not interested in if it was anything at all, though it wouldn’t have been the first time her kindness would have been taken advantage of.

     ‘1,2,3,4‘ Alyssa counted to herself as she moved in time to an unheard rhythm, having found a clear and opened area to practice her dance, she always liked open areas more than studios. ‘5,6,7,8′ A turn here, an arm extended out, then sweeping out before being brought back to her chest and then raised up out in front of her. ‘9,10,11,12′ And then the hands drop back to her sides, a serene expression on her face as she moves in slow, careful steps, before picking up tempo and quickening her steps, breaking out into something akin to a jazz run. ‘13,14,15,16′ As her pace increases, she finds herself twirling and spinning, before launching into a long and powerful spin, before falling onto the ground, both dizzy from the spin and tired from dancing so extraneous.

     Alyssa can’t help but let out a small laugh that quickly turns into full-blown laughter. She can be quite silly at times, and dancing is always so fun to her, even if she ends up overworking a bit. Still, that’s part of what makes dancing so fun and rewarding. She loves it, and even if it tires her out, it’s what she’s been doing for years after all. Still, it’s about time she gets back to the city, lest she stay out too late. She pushes herself off of the ground and grabs her bag and takes a slip from her water bottle. It’s not long before she falls back into step again, dancing while walking. It’s a habit, and considering that’s what she was doing before, it’s only natural that her body still wants to do it. She’s not really paying that much attention to her surroundings, only enough to make sure she isn’t going to hit someone accidentally, and she’s only reminded of it when she feels someone grab at her arm to stop her from falling.

     “Ah!” She finds herself being pulled back by her savior of sorts from the edge of the platform that headed to the canal. She really needed to be paying more attention, it’s so careless of her and it causes her more bad and good (but was it really going to cause good in the first place?) but it’s a bad habit so it’s going to take some time. Still, the other girl has a point, others would be concerned if she ended up falling into the water (she knew that she would be concerned if it happened to someone) and yes, she wasn’t paying attention. That would’ve been well…terrifying perhaps? She’s not sure what’s the best word she could use but it’s something like that, right? The other girl also seemed…tired? Could she have been straining herself before she help her, and was only straining herself more? Alyssa feels a pang of concern for the other girl. “You are right…I wasn’t paying attention and I should’ve, lest I make other worried about me… Though you seem to be worn out, are you okay?”

To the admittance of of not paying attention Hoshi gave a soft smile, it was nice to see someone that was consciously able to admit to their mistakes, but the question after startled Hoshi a bit. Hoshi looked away from the girl and halfly considered saying she was perfectly fine, of course that would bring dishonor and Hoshi would never allow that to befall her family name. Hoshi gave a small sigh looking toward the ground and though just a moment ago she was giving a strong and passionate look she now gave one of exhaustion and pain. Contemplating on how to answer the girl question Hoshi soon looked up with the same tired face, but with more determination in her eyes, she was going to answer the question clearly telling nothing but the truth.

“I am worn out, i was straining my body just before this, i was trying to perfect my masters technique for the perfect cut with my Katana, but i have not even been able to performing the focusing steps up to full potential. I’ve undergone years or training preparing under her and i still can’t even get halfway done with focus concentration.” Hoshi said this a small smile appearing on her lips soon after, she wanted to get that off her chest she wanted to admit to someone that she needed more work and wanted to let herself know that a bit of pain wasn’t going to stop her. “Gomen'nasai, that was more information than you asked for, but please don’t not spend a second of your time worrying over me, i am just a protector of the people after all, if i can not give my all till my body breaks then i may as well give nothing at all.” Hoshi looked away for only a moment more than back at the girl. “Well i’m glad you are not injured, i hope my grip did not hurt you either.”

Hoshi gave the girl a smile, and it would be at this point Hoshi would have walked away, if she could move her legs with having a searing pain in them. For now Hoshi was stuck to the position she was just standing in until her body felt a bit more loose, her muscles were obviously still pretty strained. Eventually if Hoshi continued like this she knew exactly what would happen Hoshi was eventually going to lose all ability to even wield her katana if she did not slow her training to relax a bit, but she didn’t care. If training everyday meant she mastered the technique she didn’t care what effect it had on her body she wasn’t going to stop, and that might just be the reason she’s had trouble holding her blade recently. Hoshi was more concerned with the other people of the city, the faster she could master the technique the better she could defend anyone that needed a quick save, Hoshi wanted to help so much that she didn’t even head her masters warning about the technique.

Honestly though i always get emotional when it comes to things like this, even though i do it myself sometimes, if people do respect me or even admire me for my OCs i’m very happy anyone would view me that way, though i don’t feel like i’ve earned that kind of...image to be imposed upon me, i’m nervous, i’m quiet, i’m shy and just anti-social in general, but to think even one person looks at my hard work like that, it makes me very happy

Hoshi focused her breath counting, ‘1, 2, 3′ she counted one with each breath in and out, ‘4, 5, 6′ after the fifth count she placed both hands on the katana handle. Hoshi focused her senses and narrowed her stance, she could already feel her muscles tightening in response to focusing her energy and senses, by this point Hoshi started to ignore her surroundings. Hoshi had found an area to practice her techniques, but to think that they would already cause such a strain on her body. ‘7, 8,...9′ Hoshi counted yet again even higher, this was a special type of training to help Hoshi get used to the use of the skill her master taught her. ‘10...11...’ Hoshi let out a sharp gasp as she relaxed her stance the blade of the katana hitting the dirt as Hoshi breathed with harsh breaths.

Hoshi failed again, the special technique her master taught her and only her, and she failed at just getting the motions started again, it was starting to destroy her body, but she was getting further each time she tried. Deciding it was best to wait to try again Hoshi headed back into the city from her training spot and was heading to someplace to treat herself to something for making further this time. While she walked Hoshi spotted a girl who seemed to be dancing as she stepped, Hoshi couldn’t help but be mesmerized with the movements, it had been a long time since she had ever seen someone dancing. It was only moments after that Hoshi noticed that she was dancing straight toward the edge of the platform heading right for the canal, immediately Hoshi’s body, despite being damaged and strained, sprung into action. Her legs carried her quickly as Hoshi sprinted toward the girl and reached out her hand to grab the girl's arm, just in time to stop her.

“He-Hey! Be careful! You’ll fall!” Hoshi said loudly giving the girl a slight pull back away from the edge. “Were you not paying attention? I’m sure a lot of people would have worried over you if you fell into the water.” Hoshi said this looking over the girl, it wasn’t odd for Hoshi to go out of her way to make sure people stayed safe, but she needed to go about it while making sure not to accidentally insult anyone. Hoshi held onto the girl with the same grip that she had the moment gripped the girl, a rather tight but gentle grip all the same, it was of course because Hoshi was worried about the girl, but also because she literally couldn’t let go at the moment. Hoshi started to give an even more of a worried look as she quickly realized the strain was causing stalls in her movement, but moments later the hand released the girl and Hoshi gave a small sigh, it should be about five more minutes and Hoshi should be able to function like normal.

Tea time

Hoshi walked along the hall with her katana at her side like usual, her hair tied up like she would normally have it and hung from her left shoulder. Hoshi was heading towards a popular tea shop, through first she need to make her way there starting by leaving the apartments. Her steps were close to silent wishing not to disturb others with sound of her shoes hitting the floor of all things she could have done to disturb others. Though unlike most others Hoshi would take the stairs she didn’t exactly trust the machines in the building a casual walk up and down stairs was good for her body anyways. The moment Hoshi stepped foot onto the bottom floor she gave a sigh and looked at the ground stepping out of the stairway, Hoshi then looked up and started to walk.

The smell of coffee was finally starting to get to her and she wanted to be around a more gentle fragrance, a place filled with teas would be the perfect place for such a thing. Many minutes passed as Hoshi now stood in front of the Jazzmine Societea, a long trip for just a basic drink to only savour the simple aroma, she could have easily made her own, but she knew she would have gone through the many ceremonial steps to actually prepare it if she had. Hoshi stepped inside to quickly find herself saddened by the look of the place, she expected something more to what she was accustomed to, but this place, like their clothing, was very odd to Hoshi. Hoshi approached the counter and ordered a random cup of tea then moved to her seat and it was quickly brought to her, and naturally she would have waited for a special step for further action, but now she was here with something completely different literally just staring at the tea with a worried look.

Hoshi closed her eyes to take in the aroma of the store, she was too afraid to actually drink the tea right now, her master was never one to let it go when Hoshi broke tradition, but now she had no idea what she was doing. Normally the smell would be calming, but right now it was bringing back memories, ones she liked, ones she needed to let go, Hoshi now sat for about five minutes simply letting the tea become cold as she focused on the smell. Perhaps her worries would vanish the moment she opened her eyes? No that would be too simple and Hoshi didn’t do simple things, Hoshi was facing the fact she didn’t have anyone to share her experience with her, the regret of not asking someone to teach her. Knowing that when she opened her eyes the tea would be there stayed on her mind, Hoshi needed to make a choice, drink the tea and face the consequences that may come from straying from her tradition, or don’t drink it and simply waste it by throwing it away, both horrible ideas to her. Knowing the decision awaited her Hoshi opened her eyes to, of course, find the tea still sitting in front of her and a woman standing beside the table, “Oh, may i help you?” Hoshi asked looking at the woman standing there.

//*Sigh* my twenty-first birthday is in a few days...i’m not sure how to feel about birthdays anymore, it seems like those are the only days anyone besides my big sister even talks to me, family wise anyways, i have this slight sense of dread in my head and i’m not sure why...might also be cause i'm hungry XD
