hey, all, welcome! i'm james, he/it, and i'm twenty-three. i'm a writer, primarily interested in resident evil, the outlast trials, silent hill 1-3, and house of the dragon. i also enjoy dead by daylight, warrior cats, the elder scrolls, and the villeneuve dune movies. all things horror are my bread and butter!

At the head of the Blacks and the Greens were the Princess and the Queen. Between them for many years before the Dance of the Dragons, was their handmaiden and friend, Lady Deidre Strong. It is unknown what exact influence and role Lady Strong had during events leading up to and during the Dance of Dragons. With rumored connections to the Witch Queens of Harrenhal, Ser Criston Cole the Kingmaker, and black magic itself, as well as noble kin that were key combatants on both the Black and Green sides of the civil war, her loyalties, actions, and true influence over the fate of the Seven Kingdoms during this era will continue to be a debate among scholars for years to come.

Important! Your pet's RFID chip number might have been disconnected this week.

Microchip company ceases operations, pet owners urged to re-register

The Texas-based company, Save This Life, has ceased operations and that could become an issue for pet owners.

Is your pet chipped? They should be. Do you know who made the chip?

Pet RFID chips are so small that there's really only room on them for a serial number. When your lost pet is brought to a shelter or a vet's office, they can scan the chip, read that number, and then type it into a program that draws from a series of linked databases to find your name and phone number. That's how they find you, and tell you that Silly Lilly von Wigglesbottom has gone wandering, and she's safe and sound, and would you come get her, please?

Texas-based Save This Life, which provided chips to vets and shelters all across the US, has all at once and abruptly gone dark; their database is just gone. Their customers were not given warning and so did not know to change their registration to another company. A lot of animals have basically become anonymous now.

If you don't know what company you've been using, call your vet's office and ask what pet chip number they have on file. If the chip number starts with 991 or 900164, it's probably a Save This Life chip.

If it turns out yours is one of the affected cases, the chip itself will still be fine! There's no need to add another, or anything like that. You'll just need to transfer the number to another company, and your vet should be able to recommend the one that they like the best.

making Alicent and Rhaenyra childhood friends was an objectively good decision that added a layer of depth that would’ve otherwise been lacking had the show stuck with the stepmother vs stepdaughter it would’ve felt like a knock off of Margery and Cerseis rivalry. where this becomes a problem is the shows refusal to allow their relationship to deteriorate in a natural way, they have been rivals longer than friends and it’s not completely unrealistic for them to still have nostalgic feelings towards each other but to have that relationship override everything else in their lives is unrealistic and borderline insulting to their characters.

In my experience, horror fans are by and large lovely people with a very healthy relationship to their genre of choice, but sometimes they fuck up and say something that in their ears sounds very affirmative of the movie of discussion and to everyone else sounds like the most sinister shit.

I mean the line that I think of first is “A kid dies in this movie.”

Which I suspect to horror fans is shorthand for “The director of this movie subverts horror tropes (wherein kids are usually immune to the monster/slasher/source of terror) to make something that is deliberately shocking. Seeing a child character die in this story is not a happy thing or a good thing, but for a horror story emphasizes that nobody is immune to the source of the terror, which makes the horror more serious and scarier.”

And to everybody else just sounds like “Oh this movie’s great! A kid dies in it!”
