Everyone needs to grow out of the “I never text first phase” sooner rather than later.

In friend groups there is always someone who is always initiating the conversation with everyone they know. It is utterly exhausting, and it leaves them feeling like the friendship would not continue if they weren’t putting in the effort. Do them a favor and start the conversation first for once. It means something.

how is threatening your children with homelessness not a toxic ass form of abuse? black parents can be unapologetically abusive and think its justified and indisputable and a lot of older black adults out of “objectivity” what they think is maturity and respect, are complicit in upholding a lot of toxic ass abusive behavior because they extend and validate it.

growing up in a super Christian household and being the “black sheep” of the family put me through this a lot… like I didn’t do shit but stay home and mind my own business most days, if not most of my childhood. Yet I was always the one who was threatened to be kicked out just because I didn’t help around the house enough or whatever. Then when I actually decided to move out on my own accord and my mom had a fit. Like what did she expect???
