revamping for kerria academy..
open / "I-I'm not scared!"
Oh, boy, it looked like she had messed up now. Of course with her luck, the figure standing in front of her wouldn’t warrant the reaction she’d given.
Taking a few deep breaths to calm herself, and hopefully regain her sense of logic, the manakete looked the boy up and down. Actually, now that she actually could see him as a person moreso than a creep who happened to be behind her in a time of panic, he actually seemed… rather nonthreatening. Less so than some of the dorkiest people she’d known in the Shepherds, even, and definitely not somebody worth threatening as a dragon. A quiet ‘Oh,’ escaped her lips at his words.
She felt kind of bad about that now, actually…
But no… she was sure that her actions had been justified. That is, she hadn’t actually done anything dangerous; if she had used her dragonstone without thinking, then she would be in the wrong, but a bit of yelling from a little girl? That was nothing! And in this case, she needed to be on the defensive. A position that could have easily come across as the opposite with the way that she handled it.
"What are you doing, following a little girl into a dark alley, anyway! What was I supposed to think?"
A huff was given as she crossed her arms, glaring at him with little concern for how her aggressive words could have come off. When faced with a problem with somebody, the mature thing to do was address it. Even if the problematic person happened to be a stranger, and even if she happened to be a bit more aggressive than necessary.
This little girl...What was she even doing in a dangerous place like this all by her lonesome self? How old was she; like 12??? Dark, narrow alleyways were definitely not the kind of places for tiny 12 year old girls to be, especially dark and narrow alleyways of a suspect ghetto like Sector 3. Dang, now Arata could definitely see why she had freaked out on him like that.
But even so, it's not like he had meant any harm! This was all just a big misunderstanding. Arata nodded, he just needed to explain himself and everything should be okay. Well, provided the other would actually believe him...And by the tone of her voice, Arata had a feeling she was the hardy and stubborn type.
"H-Haha, yeah about that -- I'm really, really sorry!! Honestly, I wasn't even following you. I just happened to turn 'round the corner by accident...No hard feelings?
Man, she looked kind of pissed off. Arata started to wonder if getting this angry at him was necessary...He really hoped she'd let it go after hearing him out, he still had this package to deliver and all. The Jenockian would rather not leave any customers waiting.
パーティータイム[@Arata]
“Doubtlessly, it should be in your best interest to make a note of this.” Muraku states, a slight admonishing tone towards the other students, “You won’t forget, if so.” Although, considering Arata, who he presumes may be rather forgetful, it may happen again. Ah, oh well. It’s just a tie, a simple piece of clothing, no big deal.
Oh! The unforeseen compliment makes Muraku perk up, giving his attention from the recently fixed tie, to Arata’s face; a bit off guard that the teen that was so unsure about this whole gathering at first would go out of his way to flatter the Rossiun in such a way.
He remains silent for a few moments, pressing his lips together, then relaxing his features he nods, “Thank you very much, Arata… I appreciate the compliment.” He says, almost a bit embarrassed, though he feels bliss knowing that he looks presentable in this outfit, “I can say the same for you.” For once! Especially after seeing him not dressed so properly in the Kamui Daimon uniform… What a pleasant change, hm?
Right, dancing… That’s a thing Muraku made extra sure to prepare for, yet he feels unsure; unprepared, even! He begins to doubt himself just a bit at the thought of dancing around a large group of strangers. Well, as long as he applies everything he learns to the actual situation, it should work according to plan.
The slight uneasiness lifts off his shoulders when Arata turns a one eighty with his decision. To be honest, that suggestion sounded more appropriate right now, so Muraku gives him a nod in agreement, “Let’s go then,” He begins to walk, “I am curious on what they have to serve anyway.”
Arata noted how he took Muraku off guard with his sudden compliment, and worriedly wondered if it was a bad move on his part. Was it too awkward of him? But before embarrassment could wash over him anew, the other thanked him for it, and even complimented him back. Oh, uwah, now it was his turn to feel flattered. He was glad Muraku thought so -- it meant he looked good enough. Laughing sheepishly, he replied,
"You're welcome, and aw, thanks! I wasn't sure I'd look good in a suit to others. I never wear them, so I'm happy you think so."
Speaking of dancing though, Arata wasn't exactly confident about his skills yet either. He may have practiced now and then, and gotten a bit of help from Muraku, but he was still worried about accidentally stepping on toes or tripping in the middle of dancing. He certainly did not want to embarrass himself, or Muraku, like that in the middle of the crowd!
But he'll have enough time to recall all the steps of waltzing later, for now he was too busy getting excited about the food. They probably had some sort of grandiose buffet ! Oh man. Arata followed the Rossian, or rather, went ahead of him by a few steps. "Me too! I'm actually heaps hungry right now; and I wouldn't want to dance or do anything on an empty stomach."
Soon enough, the two teenagers stepped inside the dining hall, and what they had there definitely did not disappoint. Just look at all that food...! It was like they had absolutely everything, and Arata couldn't wait to start filling his plates and devouring the food.
But he was kind of thirsty too, so before that the Jenockian walked towards the table serving punch, and poured some for himself and Muraku. It was just common courtesy! Something even Arata had (stop don't laugh it's true). He handed the cup over to the Rossian and waited for him to accept it. "I don't know if they serve milk here, but here you go in the meantime."
パーティータイム[@Arata]
He feels relief after receiving the text from Arata; he’s not late, that’s good. The Rossiun checks his tie, and suit, to make sure anything isn’t out of place. Tie, check; Suit, check; appropriate shoes, check; gloves, check. Everything seems to be in order, so now he just has to wait for Arata to arrive.
Muraku perks up at the familiar voice calling his name, and stands up from the couch, ”No, it’s fine.” He says, he looks at Arata, then immediately narrows his eyes at his collar.
“… Arata.” He speaks up again, “That is now how you present yourself, most importantly tie a necktie properly.” He lets out a small sigh, how embarrassing. He walks up to the boy, and takes the tie away from him.
“Pay attention now.” He instructs him as he wraps the tie around the collar, and ties it into a neat knot against the neckband.
After fixing that, the teen steps back, and inspects Arata. He looks at the collar area, then everything else. He gives a small nod of approval. Good for now. The most important thing is that he doesn’t look out of place now.
Now, since that is out of the way, he crosses his arms, and looks around the room, “Perhaps we should go find something to do, right? Anything in particular you’re interested in doing, Arata?"
For once, Arata wasn't late for something, so he let himself bask in that sense of satisfaction. It'd have pretty horrible of him to have kept his...'date' waiting during such a nice ball like this, too, so he was glad Muraku didn't wait too long for him. What he wasn't glad about though was the fact that he completely forgot about the necktie around his neck until the other pointed it out.
"Oh--" But before Arata could begin explaining himself, Muraku already busied himself with tying the cloth. Well...this was embarrassing to say the least! Barely 5 minutes in here and he already managed to make a fool out of himself in front of Muraku. Maybe he should have learned how to tie a tie properly beforehand.
"Haha, whoops. My bad! I'll try to remember this for next time, if ever." He looked presentable enough though, right? Nothing else should have been out of place; he even made sure to check himself thoroughly in the mirror before leaving his apartment. For comparison, Arata looked the Rossian up and down -- he didn't look too different from his usual self, since the standard Kamui uniform Muraku wore all the time was similar to a suit in Arata's eyes.
"The uh, outfit looks nice on you."
That just slipped out somehow, but he wasn't lying at least! Muraku did look...good, admittedly. Proper and regal, even more so than usual. (Maybe even handsome but Arata didn't want to think that.) Hopefully Arata looked just as nice, so he wouldn't have to fuss over his appearance again later.
Ah, well, enough of that; they had an event to get back to. "The dancing part won't start right away, I think. How about we grab something to eat before?" The dining hall should be close by, if he remembered correctly. Arata did feel slightly peckish, and just thinking about all the fancy food they probably had here made him hungrier with each passing second!
oo3 || vite, vite, lent
Less people were dancing at the ball than Courfeyrac expected. It was actually really distressing. He heard rumors about a group hunting demons. There was even mention of someone plotting to steal a chocolate fountain—not that he could blame them; a fountain of chocolate sounded magical. While that all sounded good, it hardly seemed like typical ball shenanigans.
Maybe people just didn’t know how to dance. If it was still an upper class activity then that certainly would explain things. Which was a shame, really, since dancing was one of the best aspects of a ball. But there was an easy solution to that, and so the student walked to an empty space near the dance floor and raised his hand to get people’s attention. He wasn’t nearly as eloquent in speeches as Enjolras or Combeferre were, but he still knew how to attract people.
"Ladies and Gentlemen of the ball! It’s come to my attention that some of you may not know the steps to dancing. If you are interested, I will be more than happy to teach you if you would just step right up!"
Despite having attempted to learn learned at least the basics of ballroom dancing, Arata wasn't one hundred percent confident with his skills just yet. And if he and Muraku were to hit the dance floor eventually, he certainly did not want to step on the other's toes -- or worse, someone else's because he had a feeling he'd manage that somehow too.
But there wasn't much time for practice now that he was actually at the event. He considered just winging it in the end, and hope he wouldn't screw up too much. And it's not like Muraku knew how to dance more than him, so that reassured him in a weird way...!
Speaking of the Rossian though, he was nowhere to be found, probably somewhere in the crowd where Arata had lost him. But before he could go off to search for him, a voice sounded loudly and clearly through the room -- the person was offering the people here dancing lessons? Oh, wow.
Well...
#Sweats. Okay maybe Muraku could wait a tiny bit. Hell if anything, he's going to accept this offer for the other's sake!
"Uh...would you mind? I don't think I'm that good at dancing yet."

パーティータイム[@Arata]
After that prolonged week, the winter ball is finally here! The wait felt even more drawn-out with all the dance practice Muraku was trying to perform in the apartment, and just other preparations in general. Luckily, shopping with Arata did award with him with a nice suit. It isn’t anything too fancy, just the average suit most men would wear at such a ball, accompanied with a favourite purple tie, and his purple gloves, of course.
Muraku arrives on time, as a good guest should, and his first stop is the formal sitting room. He sits on one of the very comfy couches to lounge for a moment, getting his nerves settled. After sitting there in silence, he takes out his phone, and sends a text to Arata.
To: Sena Arata From: Muraku Houjou
The formal sitting room, Arata. Meet me there.
The phone returns to his pocket, and Muraku begins to fidget with his tie, and gloves. After waiting, he looks up, expecting the visitor. What an experience this is going to be, he notes to himself. Muraku isn’t the most social person when it comes to interacting with individuals at parties. He silently prays this event will flow smoothly.
Alright, okay. Arata managed to get to his destination fairly in time -- he wasn't late or anything, at least. Getting dressed back at home would have taken a lot less if he just knew how to tie a stupid tie (There was a reason he never wore one with his Kamui Daimon uniform!). After many failed attempts Arata had eventually given up and haphazardly swung the annoying clothing around his neck.
When he stepped inside the residence, the Jenockian took in his surroundings in awe. Wow, he didn't think he's ever been to a place as fancy as this. He actually felt pretty nervous now...! He hoped he wouldn't make a fool out of himself in front of other guests, and Arata wasn't usually one to get self conscious. Before he could delve on that longer though, his cellphone -- which he promptly fished out of his pocket -- rang.
Well, it didn't come as a surprise to him that Muraku was already here. The guy was a stickler to precision and detail, after all. It's something he actually respected about him!
To: Houjou Muraku From: Sena Arata
im already here, so ill meet you in a sec!! ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ
Sliding the device inside his pocket again. If he remembered correctly, Light said it was behind the huge staircase earlier. So without any further ado, Arata made his way in that direction, spotting the Rossian soon enough upon entering the room. As he got closer, Arata called out to him.
"Muraku!!"
"Hey! I hope you didn't wait too long."
it's beginning to look a lot like christmas [closed/muraku]
Violet eyes stares at the other boy. Muraku raises an eyebrow in confusion, staring at the teen with a peculiar and even curious look. He didn’t understand why this all is shocking the Jenock student so much! Did he say something wrong? He sure is hoping he didn’t. Besides, Muraku is sure the point of the Ball is to socialize, and dance-… Both things are things Muraku isn’t an expert on, too. Either way, he was curious enough to accept the invitation earlier, so he’s determined to go through with the commitment. Now, the only thing that’s left is Arata- who keeps reacting to what Muraku says in the weirdest ways! The Rossiun could feel some uneasiness rise within him. He isn’t asking too much from the Jenock, right?
Arata ends up mentioning the same word once more like before. Though, this time Muraku isn’t caught off guard like previously. He could finally address this- with the hopes that he doesn’t mess anything up…
“… A date?” He echoes, “What do you mean, Arata?” His eyes wander to look at the ground, feeling a bit embarrassed. He never asked anyone out on a date, did this really account for one? He had to admit, Muraku is very confused about this whole situation!
However, he still wished to dance at the Ball. He doesn’t want his hard work to be washed down a drain either. Besides, if he is going to dance with someone, it might as well be with someone he appreciates quite a lot.
He fidgets with the purple gloves covering his hands, “Then will you dance with me, once you properly learn?” He asks, “The offer for me to assist you is still on available, Arata.”It took him a moment to compose himself, but he finally focuses his eye contact on Arata again after he stops playing with his gloves; awaiting an answer before they continue on with their shopping.
Arata was beginning to tell he was probably making Muraku uneasy with the way he reacted to his invitation. He didn't want to make the other feel embarrassed or even ashamed of this -- it's not like the Rossian was asking too much of him! It was just a simple ball, right? Arata shouldn't dwell on this as much as he was right now. And even if Muraku wasn't a cute girl, he was still a really good friend, so Arata wouldn't mind being his partner.
That was what he thought, at least, but he still couldn't shake off this 'date-y' vibe he was getting from the situation. Arata's never been this self conscious ever since that incident with Takeru... And did Muraku really need to ask him what he meant by 'a date'?? Way to make things more awkward, and it wasn't Arata's fault this time either!
"Well..." He paused for a second. "I mean, you know what's a date like, right? And dancing together at a nice ball like this feels really...date-ish. Intimate, even. And --" God, this was coming out all sorts of wrong. He'd best cut off right here before things got even worse. Muraku already looked nervous(?) enough as it was.
"You know what? Forget it. It's probably just me thinking too much. I'll dance with you!" He wondered if he made his reply sound almost too enthusiastic...and if he actually was happy about the prospect of dancing with Muraku. Honestly, was he just accepting this out of necessity and sort of pity, or did he think he'd enjoy it in the end? Too many questions, too many dumb teenage feelings. Arata wasn't about this life. Could they just go back to their Christmas shopping list.
it's beginning to look a lot like christmas [closed/muraku]
He nods slowly, “I suppose…” He still couldn’t help but feel a bit guilty for not being completely prepared for an event like such. He is working towards being prepared enough, but it is definitely quite the task to complete in a week. Well, now’s not the time to sweat about it, right? Muraku just has to put forth enough effort to complete the task on time.
He got this.
“It is a bit difficult only reading from a book, and other reference. There needs to be time set aside for practice, I believe.” He mentions.
The Rossian slows down his pace, and focuses his attention on Arata. He gives the Jenock student a look, almost bordering onto a confused one, then asks, “Arata, if we are going together it would be suitable for us to dance together, right?” his tone was blunt, but then out of a habit, like before, his eyes shift to the side so he wasn’t looking at Arata again, “Though… If that is an impediment, then perhaps we shouldn’t. It’d still be proper for me to attempt to teach you, however.”
Muraku is a bit bewildered, maybe even a bit caught off guard with Arata’s reply. It’s normal for people going to a ball together to dance together, right? Maybe he’s looking at it the wrong way. He is sure he is right about it though… It’s odd. Maybe he needs to start rethinking the situation.
Ah, well. The pair of students were finally approaching the store, and Muraku perks up. Picking up his pace, he makes his way to the door, and opens it.
“Should we prepare for the Ball first, and then search for presents?” He asks, “Or vice versa?”
So Muraku really did expect them to dance together...He was so sure the other only planned on literally accompanying him to the ball, and not actually dancing with him. The alternatives being -- Oh, he didn't know, maybe they could have found other partners during the ball? Cute girls and all? Wouldn't that have worked out somehow? But then...thinking about it he doubted many people would go to a grand ball like this without a partner they chose beforehand. Wow, he was an idiot.
"N-No...it's not a problem I guess I just assumed something else 's all." Arata scratched at the back of his head awkwardly. "But man, you do realize that going to a ball and dancing together is what usually constitutes a date, right?" He didn't exactly know how to feel about that one part just yet. "But uh, I honestly don't mind dancing with you in the end, really! You could still teach me and we can go together, I don't think I can find another partner anyway."
And he really, honest to God didn't mind it. Maybe just a tiny bit but -- it's just that he had a lot of mixed feelings about the whole thing, okay. Maybe the Jenockian was thinking too much of this, making mountains out of hill tops, but he couldn't really help it. He couldn't help it that he was a confused teenage boy who couldn't exactly tell if his male friend was secretly into him and asking him out!
But, well, if he kept thinking about it so much he'll just give himself a headache. And today was supposed to be a pleasurable day, too...Good thing that Muraku decided to change the subject, so Arata just went with it. "Hmm...let's go get the suits first, so we can get that over with quickly enough."
it's beginning to look a lot like christmas [closed/muraku]
Muraku has to admit, he isn’t an expert when it comes to what to gift people- especially for a holiday like Christmas. He finds spending actual time with people more rewarding than a shiny trinket. Presents were nice, he also admits, however it’s just not the same like spending time with the people he finds dear to him. Either way, he’ll probably end up putting forth his best effort to find the most suitable gifts for the people he met this year. They were important to him, and he can’t go without showing his appreciation for them somehow.
Hm. Figures Arata didn’t know how to dance. He expected that answer. He can’t blame the teen though, not many middle schoolers knew how to dance, really-… Like Muraku himself.
That is certainly embarrassing, especially when the other male begins to assume Muraku is a definite expert on the topic.
“Ah…” He thinks for a moment so he can word his next sentence properly, “I apologize for not living up to your expectations, Arata, please acknowledge I’m not skilled on the subject as well.” He finally admits it, though he couldn’t keep eye contact with the other, and looks away to the side as he says so.
“Despite that, I’m making very sure I am prepared for this event.” He adds, “I’ve been studying a bit on some basics, maybe it’ll benefit the both of us.”
Another pause.
“If you need help, I can assist you.” Honestly, he’s going to help the boy with a suit, so they might as well prepare together even when it comes to the dancing part of the ball- right?
Arata had to admit that receiving presents was a really nice thing which he looked forward to every Christmas, but spending time with loved ones was what actually made the holiday so worth while. And even without his family around here, celebrating it with his new friends ought to be just as fun. But Muraku would be what Arata qualified as an old friend, and as much as he cared for the people he met in Hive City, Muraku was...different. Maybe special? (But that sounded kinda iffy.) That's why he wanted to be extra sure he'll get the other teen something great!
But that aside, Arata didn't really expect the other to not know how to dance either!! Muraku just gave off this sophisticated vibe, and hell if the Rossian could eat grilled steak at a classy dinner table away from everyone else in the mess hall, Arata assumed he'd be able to waltz and stuff too. But it looked like he was wrong...
"Oh..."
"Man, don't sweat it Muraku. I was just assuming, it's okay if you can't dance!" He felt sort of bad; the other wouldn't even keep eye contact with him. Was he actually feeling ashamed of himself? Arata didn't think it was anything big to worry about. "And hey, at least you've been studying up already, right? I know next to nothing!" Really, maybe the boy could even teach him--
Wait was he honestly offering to teach him.
#Sweats?!?!?!
That awkward feeling from before came back, and Arata didn't really know what to say. This kind of dancing involved really close contact, and was considered rather intimate, no? He...didn't know if he was up for that. Just thinking about being in close proximity to the Rossian was weird to him. Yeah, he felt weird, and nothing else.
But then again, Muraku's intentions were probably innocent. So Arata couldn't find a reason to refuse besides 'idk man it'd be weird'. "Sssure! I guess having a dance partner would be better practice than trying things out on your own." Arata laughed. "If I didn't know better though, I'd think you actually wanted to dance with me during the real deal, too." And that was so not awkward to say, Sena Arata.
it's beginning to look a lot like christmas [closed/muraku]
There were quite a few things he had in mind. One thing Muraku is definitely focused on is getting a gift for Marco. He felt as if he should show his admiration for the one who let him stay at the apartment while Muraku was stranded living in a cardboard box. Marco seems to like receiving kitchen appliances, or other technologies as gifts. He isn’t sure why, however, some of the most simplest appliances made him glad; though the way that Marco appreciates the littlest of gifts really allowed Muraku to respect him quite a lot as an individual.
Once he opens the door, he is faced with a blast of cold wind. Muraku closes his eyes, and takes a few steps out against that wind, rubbing his hands together. As he stays out in the cold for several moments, Muraku feels a shiver shoot up his spine, and responds by rubbing his hands nonchalantly on his cheeks. He perks up, lowering his hands when Arata speaks.
“I’ve visited it a number of times on several occasions.” Mostly on deliveries due to his job at Heibon, “Down the street.” He nods towards the general direction, and turns around to begin walking. His footsteps were relaxed, yet quick, wishing to enter another warm building as quickly as possible.
As he walks in silence, the Rossiun teen’s thoughts were occupied by the upcoming ball. He speaks up, directing a question towards Arata, “Do you have knowledge on how to dance, Arata?”
Arata was pretty much set when it came to what he wanted to buy the others. Money shouldn't be an issue either, since he had jobs he juggled between. But there was one thing he surprisingly hadn't decided on -- a gift for Muraku himself!! He felt pretty dumb and embarrassed, since he did consider him a close friend. It's not that he didn't try to think of something to get the other before, but he felt like all of the ideas weren't adequate enough. Deciding on everyone else's gifts came to him easily enough, but with Muraku...
Pushing his dilemma a bit further in his mind in order to listen to the other speak, Arata nodded as he followed the Rossian down the street. It wasn't getting any warmer, and standing in one place didn't do either of them any good. Arata didn't want to accidentally get Muraku something he wouldn't actually like, so maybe he should ask him about this later...
Muraku decided to ask him something himself before that though. Oh, right. Going to the ball involved dancing as well as dressing fancy. Both of which Arata wasn't exactly well versed in.
"Oh, uh...Not really. But I could try and learn some basics before the ball -- we still got a week. I'm guessing you know more than me!" Muraku always struck him as the...fancy kind.
it's beginning to look a lot like christmas [closed/muraku]
“And… Those excuses won’t get you anywhere, Arata.” He shakes his head at the Jenock student, but anyway, the point of this isn’t to be cheeky towards Arata. Sometimes it amazes him how this is the student he lost to in War time, however a book cannot be judged by its cover, right? Talent can’t be seen on the outside for the most part, it’s sometimes hidden.
His expression on his features return to the same default, stoic expression he usually wears. He takes a moment to think, picking up the mugs to drop off in the kitchen sink to pass the time. Once he returns he shakes his head once more, “Right now, just general ideas. It’ll be more beneficial if I take a look at the wares the shops have in stock.” He states.
The Rossiun makes his way to the door, and grasps the door’s handle, then looks back at Arata. Suits for themselves were on the list too. Muraku does have enough money for one, so this won’t be too much of a daunting task. Though, he never had been suit shopping on his own. This is going to be quite the experience, he presumes.
Either way, he has the knowledge, “I can assist with that. It’s not as difficult as you think. Shall we leave?” He speaks up, as he opens the door.
"Oh--yeah, you're right. All the more for us to hurry up, right?" Arata also just had general ideas in mind. Despite knowing the people here for quite some time now, he wasn't completely sure of the things they'd have liked to receive. Maybe he'll get clearer images once they've actually stepped inside a store, so better get moving soon!
Arata nodded at Muraku, and promptly went through the door and out onto the snowy road again. The cold hit him instantaneously and he flinched out of reflex, hurriedly digging his hands into his pockets. He didn't actually wear any gloves -- his fingers ought to turn into frozen jelly worms soon enough. Maybe he should follow the Rossian's example and buy a pair (And call himself something like the Vermilion Devil while he was at it too haaaaaah).
"Mmm...I think there's a mall somewhere nearby? There should be a lot of shops we could check out there." He just needed to remember the way there from here. It shouldn't be too hard -- he had a fairly good sense of direction, or so he liked to think.

Upon noticing the small snrk from Arata, Muraku couldn’t help but get a tad bit embarrassed. Was he not discreet enough? He thought he was, at least. How embarrassing… He simply ignores it; however, the thought still lingers in his mind for a bit. Asking Arata to this event was harder than he thought, he has to admit. Why did he even presume it would be an easy task? Maybe Arata’s comment just threw him off.
Anyway, that shouldn’t matter, “Ah, if you say so.”
Muraku could feel the tense feeling in his shoulders lift away when Arata didn’t refuse. What a relief, really. Muraku wouldn’t know what to do if he was denied, “For someone who spends their time waiting for every war time shouldn’t you have learned to be more focus by now?”A small joke to poke at Arata…
Regardless, the corners of the Rossiun’s lips lift up to a small smile, “Thank you very much.” Then he stands. Now, it’s probably time to move on to what they really planned to do early. He looks over at Arata, “We have work to do, correct? We probably shouldn’t waste too much time now.” On top of all of this, he doesn’t even have anything suitable to wear at the ball. His Rossius uniform won’t even work since it’s just a simple blazer, and all. He needed to present himself well at an event like such.
Arata huffed lightly at Muraku's teasing remark -- to think the normally stone faced Rossian had it in him to poke fun of others. "Oh, pop off. This and that are two entirely different matters!" But he laughed again despite himself, this time more relaxed. Well, at least he didn't have to worry about things being awkward anymore, and boy were they awkward just a few moments ago.
The redhead blinked up at Muraku as he smiled, but then returned it and stood up from their table as well. It was becoming less uncommon, but Muraku smiling always surprised him in a way. He was still rather unused to it, but it wasn't anything unpleasant. The opposite actually -- it'd do the other some good to smile more! But right uh, that aside, Muraku kindly reminded him they had things to do. Christmas shopping, to be precise.
"You're right, let's get going! Do you know what to buy everyone yet?" He wasn't exactly sure himself what presents he could get their friends, but they could help each other think of appropriate things along the way. There was also the matter of getting themselves something nice to wear for the ball...As if reading Muraku's mind, he decided to voice out his worries. "Oh, and we should also get suits...I haven't dressed up for a lot of fancy occasions before. I don't really know what to wear yet either, haha."
