one of the very few positives to working a minimum wage job in food service is that you can experiment with some truly fucked creations when your boss is gone or for your shift meal. my current record is pizza with garlic powder, tomato sauce, mushrooms, mozzarella/provolone cheese blend, tomato slices, banana peppers, cubed chicken, and then after it’s out of the oven add goat cheese
my dad said he saw a style of decorating he liked recently and i figured he was about to say something along the lines of some subgenre of rustic or maximalism or something but no. This man looks me in the eyes and says “dark academia”
yesterday when he came home he said he learned a new word today that he really liked and i said oh what word? and he said "neurospicy"
today he asked me if i'd heard of ea-nasir
ask your dad something only he would know asap
just made a fascinating discovery: dark chocolate becomes tasteless for a few seconds if you drink milk with it.
It is wednesday my dudes
They've been mass-reblogging this since last friday. I have no idea why.
this website is crazy

“Dad, the spouse and I both have meetings at nine, could you take the lead on child supervision? Play some legos, watch some YouTube, maybe describe the uses of some of your tools?”
“Sure!” my dad said. “YouTube or Legos, right?”
Fifteen minutes later I’m arguing a point of nonprofit law on the deck and I look over to see my child holding a propane torch and my dad carefully explaining which plants are weeds growing between pavers that the child can set on fire and which ones are there on purpose.

KICK THE CAN!
Let’s play the biggest game of kick the can on the internet.
To kick the can, reblog it. I wanna see how long this can go on for.
the oldest reblogs for this post that i can find are from january 2nd of 2013. this can has been getting kicked around tumblr for almost 13½ years now
thought that was a fucking trilobite fossil until I saw the Oreo logo
I have something far more resentful than Gender Envy towards men. I'm gender competitive. I don't want to be accepted as one of their own I want to surpass them. I want to be better at it than they are and I want it to piss them off. This is the transmasc butch way
I'm not a man but I'm a better man than them. You know. I'm a dyke. I'm going to win the figurative dick measuring contest. In the most feminist way possible, I am going to fuck their wives
Being a lesbian already pisses them off like this on principle but it needs to be worse. I need them to be scared of me

just saw The Mandalorian and Grogu tonight. can confirm it is one of the movies of all time. 5/10. Alright action but the plot def felt like three episodes of the show stapled together.
also can confirm that there are now two star wars movies made up of several tv episodes stapled together shoddily, neither are very good, and both involve rescuing Rotta the Hutt. So there's that.
also the opening scene was the best part of the movie 10/10 no notes
also also martin scorsese plays a four armed street vendor for a minute
also I managed to find an abomination.
see, my dining hall food is normally really good, so when they had chili one day I was like
"wonder how this will compare to some random mormon grandma's chilli"
Tell my why the chilli was BEANLESS
I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THAT WAS POSSIBLE
Beanless chili is just shitty stew
Beanless chili is like a loveless marriage: It's horrible, it does exist, and Texas insists its better that way.
OBJECTION! Cincinnati chili is beanless (unless you get all the way to the beans step which is like the 5th or 6th way) and it absolutely fucks.
holy shit its spreading
this i call the Fuck Arkansas You're Not Even A Real Place Map
you cant really tell on a purely vertical map but the big steppy part of texas is actually going over all those other states.
like so.
can confirm Cincinnati chili goes hard, I grew up there. there's also Skyline outposts in Indiana, Kentucky, and also Florida for some fucking reason

Alright people let's do this.
What is your favourite historical helmet?
Mine is the visored German sallet.
gotta love me the spoleto bascinet
so Caligula was a famously terrible Roman Emperor, except his given name wasn’t Caligula, it was Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus Germanicus, which is far longer and harder to remember. The nickname Caligula was given to him as a toddler, because when his father took him to tour military camps he was given a full miniature uniform, including a pair of Caligae, or boots. In Latin, the ending -ula means little, small, or adorable. So a credible modern translation could be Little Boot, or Small Boot, or Bootsie, etc. When my family got our dog, we didn’t have a name ready, but she is all black with white paws, so we named her Bootsie. Ergo, I own a dog named after a crazy Roman emperor.
You would think that being anti-data center development would be a uniting factor between various political parties, but I just saw a faux-news headline that claimed that being anti-data center was to be anti-american. Which makes me really curious why this outlet wants conservatives to be pro-data center.
(The petri dish is overwhelmingly against building data centers, if for no other reason than that they increase the cost of the electric bill.)
Like this one! I know its doing an agenda because its FOX but it makes me wonder like... whats the purpose here?
lots of money has been invested in these data centers, and if they fail lots of people stand to lose said money, so naturally they’ll spend some on making data centers more palatable to most people, and Elon Musk’s brief association as well as Trump’s profiteering off anything he can slap his name on shows that Republicans are not above supporting whoever gives them money
I've decided to learn how to play chess. This is what I know so far:
The rook looks like a castle and moves in straight lines.
The Bishop looks like a salt and pepper shaker or like a really old bedpost and moves diagonally
Thank you for your time.
the pawns are the trickiest of the whole group. you’ve got double moves but only on the first turn, promotion on the 8th rank, weird attacks that don’t line up with movement unlike literally every other piece, and of course en passant
