I work in produce now, but I used to be a cashier. As I was putting up lemons, a middle-aged customer comes over to grab some and she starts talking to me. “They’re three for $1.99? I’ll just get two, see how the cashier handles this…” and she gives me a smug grin. I told her they’ll just scan at 66 cents each. “Oh I know the computer does everything for them.
